Cuppa's been trying, but she has yet to be able to convince the devs to throw us a bone.

IF we were to ever add a way to get Isolator post-Tutorial, it would most likely be incredibly hard to get. Annoyingly hard. Irritatingly hard. There-would-be-a-zillion-people-asking-to-make-it-easier hard.

But IF we were to add it, it would be available nonetheless.

They already have a "There-would-be-a-zillion-people-asking-to-make-it-easier hard" way to get the Isolator badge. Delete your character and start over.

The mag 100 Stun is being replaced with a more standard stun (duration based, normal magnitude.)

    Thank you very much.

Yeah, great for the melees, worse for those without status protection.

I'm afraid you're remembering somewhat wrong. There is a grace period after your first missed payment during which you base is powered down. But if you continue to ignore rent, eventually all access to your base is lost. Once you pay your rent, access is restored.

I don't mind saying that this addition to the policy feels like a low blow. Just because other MMORPGs have even worse policies doesn't mean you need to use such a strongly negative game mechanic. Bases should be a slowly improving reward for in game efforts. Not something that requires work just to maintain. I enjoy these games for the steady rewards I get improving my character. If my character degraded just because I didn't play regularly I would start to hate the game. Bases are different only in scale.

Ya know what gets confusing sometimes? Lets say you attack 4 enemies - you AS one, dead. You ET another, dead. You placate the 3rd - He can't see you anymore, but the other still can, yet in Status it says "Hidden", even if you are only hidden to that one guy.

    Know what I mean?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your trying to think about it too logically... Instead of trying to think about who you are currently hidden to... Instead its simply a state that you exist within, using placate activates your hide powers.. You are either hidden, or you are not, at no point are you hidden to some and not to others..

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you ever played hide and seek you would realize that somebody can be hidden and still be seen. Otherwise the game would to be boring. Same thing here. Some mobs can see you, some cannot. In PvP it is also the same, you are hidden but some players can still see you while others cannot. It's not that hard of a concept to grasp and work with.
  5. I'm not a real big fan of one shots either. But this game was designed for a fun PvE experience. If it gets changed too much in order to make 1on1 PvP more fun then I fear greatly for what that will do to the PvE game. Being able to do major damage to an NPC in one shot is a big part of what makes the PvE game fun. So I hope that the 1 verses 1 PvP game never becomes too terribly important in balancing decisions.

The things that will kill PvP for me are more likely to come from powers that destroy the fun of team verses team conflicts. Teleport Foe is probably the worst offender in this regard. It separates a player from his team and there are no team wide defenses against it. AOE control powers can also be pretty bad but at least there are lots of archetypes with defenses to these, and breakfrees are available to everybody.
