Actually I was thinking a smaller 1 person vehicle. Sorta like in batman beyond. And customization could be like a costume on a ridgid (standing to attention with no animation) extra large huge body type. Say 12-15 feet tall maximum physique with other scaling adjustale. They way it could move would be lying on its back hovering feet first towards things. Because the bodyparts wouldn't move around the body could have a vehicle parts only costume set. Like how arachnos soldiers start with specific costume parts just for them. So for example instead of this vehicle costume having shoulder pads and gloves (in the parts of the 3d model those body parts would be assigned to) it would have parts of a door or side of a vehicle. The head could make parts of a jet engine or exauhst and so on.

I admit. Reading about the shadow shard on paragon wiki I did find it odd that arachnos didn't have any outpost there. It's very hard to believe that such an organization would ignor it. Personally I'd like to see an outpost run by the Mu mystics there for villains to go to and get missions. And a magical outpost rather then another technological outpost would make a nice change of atmosphere.

Regarding immersion I would have to disagree. See I was thinking of superhero vehicles. For example we all know of a certain superhero that has a very distinctive car pacted full of various gadgets. As for powers, think along the lines of the dark nova form of warshades. Your regular powers will be disabled and you gain access to the vehicles powers. Say built in machine guns and rocket lauchers that only shoot forward. All windows blacked out so you cant see your character (because they transformed into the vehicle). Animation should be fairly basic as there are actually very few moving parts. Movement would likely be the tricky part. Thinking about it, a wheeled car might be out of the question without a lot of work. But a kinda futuristic anti-gravity car might work, since it would float above the ground it would be justifiable that it could turn and maneuver more like a character. There would need to be a way to prevent such vehicles being used indoors however.
In a sense the bright nova and dark nova forms are a lot like what i'm talking about. Just instead of changing into a nova you change into a high tech hovering vehicle with built in weapon systems. -
I know players like when a new travel power becomes available, but what I'm thinking about is different. What I'm imagining is this. The vehicle would basically be a customizable player character that your character can transform into, with its own powersets unique to vehicles. Your character could have a temporary power (that would be disbled if the vehicle gets detroyed, and returns when it's repaired/rebuilt) that will summon the vehicle like a pet. So if its a car it will drive up beside you. Then you click on the vehicle to talk to it and select "enter your vehicle" from the conversation options. At that point your character transforms into the vehicle (and uses its powers instead of his/her regualar powers) and the vehicle pet becomes a tiny, completely invisible and Intangible thing that can not be tageted or interacted with, but takes damage and uses endurance in place of your character. If it gets killed you get ejected and it comes with an exit the vehicle power.
I'm not suggesting that this should be added to the game or anything. I'm just wondering if people think such a thing could work within the game. -
Thanks. I was guessing it might be something like that. Good to know for certain

I'm guessing that characters can only have one or the other, and not both together. But I'm not altogether clear on the matter. I've been reading about them on Paragon Wiki and I know that villains are now able to get Ancillary Powersets, but I don't know what happens when a villain unlocks a Patron power pool after already taking a power from an Ancillary Powerset. Will the Ancillary Powerset be disabled on the character, or will the character simply not get the Patron power pool they should have unlocked. I'm sure plenty of players must have come across this situation before and know exactly what happens.
Then again, if it is possible to have access to both an Ancillary Powerset and a Patron power pool I'd like to know as I might rethink what powers to give some of my characters as they progress. -
It's a shame really. Perhaps if someday some extra types of supergroups were to be added to the game. Like being able to make a supergroup that was vigilante aligned instead just being a hero supergroup that has vigilanties in it. Or even a neutral aligned supergroup that any aligment could join. That way hero and villain supergroups could be for more exclusive groups and neutral supergroups could exist for when there might be some kinda common ground.
I guess when supergroups were designed, it was based on the belief that heroes and villains would never be on any kinda long to cooperative terms. Considering that in the gameworld heroes and villains have cooperated when the entire world was in danger from outside forces, I think a neutral aligned supergroup option would be justifiable so long as the supergroup had an important enough cause to unite its members. -
While reading about the Vigilante and Rogue alignments it got me thinking. Is it possible for a hero supergroup and a villain supergroup to be in coalition with each other?
You see I was thinking about an organization that is fairly global and is semi independent from the goals and activities of heros and villains. Kinda like how the Vanguard opperate. and lets say the hero group is made up of vigilanties and the villain group is made up of rogues. Being in a coalition will make it easier for members in both groups to join teams that will permit them to do missions for contacts they dont have access to, and being able to access both hero and villain telepoters would make it easier to get around the entire gameworld.
Anyway. Does anybody know if such a coalition is possible?
