1. These forums have been so bad lately, I am more excited about the new forums than issue 13. Hope I can figure out how to use the new forums. Is it the same type of set up as the CO forums? I couldn't even figure out how to post a link on there...doh! I am computarded.
2. If your can't earn merits from MA story arcs....well, I'll just say that would be a shame.
3. So uh....about that coming storm.....is that still coming....ever?
4. I think pool C recipes will disappear completely from the redside market, bluesides will just skyrocket in price.
5. I thought I was done.

Story Arcs award players with roughly 4-6 merits per hour

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? All the story arcs I have done on test have given me 1 or 2 merits upon completion. So by you numbers, I should be able to do 2 or 3 story arcs per hour? Even if I charge to the end of each mish and ghost everything, I don't think 2-3 story arcs in an hour is very feasible.

Also, Mayhems need to give one or two merits, and not just to the owner.
6. I have two questions and a comment.

1. Why would a TF that takes an average of 30 minutes give more reward than a Story Arc that takes an average of 60 minutes? This seems like a flaw.

2. I get the same amount of merits wether I do a TF on the easiest difficulty or the hardest. This seems like a flaw. If my team is willing to take on more of a challenge, shouldn't we get a bigger reward?

3. I know it has been brought up already, but the fact that only the mission owner can get merits for a story arc is horrible. Fixing this needs to be your number one concern.
7. Ruby,

Ignore these nubs and thier lack of manners. Your costume looks better than most I see in game. You don't need to change a thing.
8. I think the biggest issue is Phalanax fighting 8ft radius is to small. Even on 8 man teams it is rare to have people that close to you. I realize for concept reasons it is suppose to be small, but I think increasing the radius to 10-12ft would make a world of differense.

The other issue is resistance. Not to sound rude, but it's like why bother? The resistance lvls are so low they serve no purpose. This might not be an issue for Tanks, but it is huge on Scrappers and even brutes.

Lastly, and this is just a personal beef, four toggles and no xtra endurance help....yuck. This is why I saty away from super reflexes. That's just me though. Anyways, thought I'd post my ideas for Shields.

MY Shield Set

[b][i]
1. True Grit - Passive that provides 10% boost to total HP and 4% resistance to all.

2. Deflection - This is a toggle power that provides 10.5% defense from Melee, Ranged, and AoE.

3. Against All Odds - Toggle power stays the same as it is now. (Buffs damage/Debuffs enemy's damage)

4. Active Defense - Remains a click power. Loses KB protection because you have paasive KB protection in Battle Agilty now.

5. Battle Agility - Passive power that gives 6% resistance to all and 2.5% defense to melee, Ranged, and AoE. Also provides protection from KB.

6. Phalanx Fighting - This passive power would have a larger AoE of 16 ft. It would give you 1.05% defense to melee, ranged, and AoE for upto 5 allies in range. Still a max potential of 5.25% defense.

7. Grant Cover Self/Grant Cover Others - You get to choose one of two powers here. You can either have this power provide 8.44% defense to all allies within a 16ft radius, or you can have this power give yourself an additional 4% defense to Melee, Ranged and AoE. Which ever you choose, they both also provide 16% resist to defense debuffs.

8. Shield Charge - This attack ROCKS! and stays the same as it is now....just more damage Oh, and PLZ make it do KD instead of KB.

9. One with the Shield - This power stays the same.

This adds up to.....

10% resistance to all.
13% defense to Melee, Ranged, and AoE If you choose to buff others (upto 18.25% with max from Phalanx Fighting)
17% defense to Melee, Ranged, and AoE If you choose to buff yourself (upto 22.25% with max from Phalanx Fighting)
10% boost to total HP
KB in your very first power which is a passive.
3 toggles instead of 4

Also, if deflection had a small chance to deflect ranged attacks back at the caster for damage...that would be a pretty neat aspect to add to the set.

EDIT* These would be numbers for Brutes, which I believe are the same as Scrappers....right? Obviously Tanks would have higher numbers.

9. I am more excited about the new forums than i13 itself. These forums seem to get worse everyday. Took me 45 minutes to change my avatar yesterday.
10. The only part that gave off an odor was

Q: What other little goodies are you packing into Issue 13 that maybe you have not talked about yet?

Matt: We’ve done a lot of quality of life features, like revamping the Badge UI, or tweaking the locations of some NPCs. A good chunk of time was spent setting up this year’s Halloween event, and that is taking place on the Live servers right now! This year’s Holiday event features some new “ski runs” for players to try out in Pocket D.

[/ QUOTE ]

To me, that is a long drawn out answer that says...nothing. We did other stuff like the holiday events so there isn't really anyhting else to mention about Issue 13.
11. Sorry to be negative, but why would we get non Co-Op arcs in a Co-Op zone? I just think that is really stupid. If the new arcs are not CoOp and are all about time travel....shouldn't the contacts be in Ouroborus? I just feel like if your hanging out in a CoOp zone, it's most likely because you wanna CoOp.

Also, why do we have to recycle everything? Why do we have to have a "Positron" and "Ghost Widow" in Cimeroa? It would be nice to just get some new characters involved in the storylines without making them just reincarnations of existing characters.
12. Have they fixed the invasions on Freedom yet? I was ion from 9-12 last night, and 7-11 this morning....no invasions redside on Freedom at all.
13. I spent 3 hours on last night, and now about 3 hours this morning....not one single zombie invasion. What Gives?
14. Seriously...been ToTing doors in grandville for almost 2 hours....how can I trigger an invasion?

Also, Granny Beldam doesn't say anything or give me any missions.
15. so how often do these attacks happen? Been one for about an hour and a half.....no zombies.
16. So did you all listen to the very end of the interview when Castle said Closed Beta starts tommorow?

I'm kidding :P
17. Awesome!

can we start i13 beta now......?

Though the article specifically mentions bosses and NPC's for customization, I’m hoping that we can at least make some “cosmetic” changes to others, such as the lieutenants and lower “bosses” in the mobs met along the way. I’ve a few ideas for mission arcs that would rely on visual clues to lead players on to the next mission in the arc.

For instance, a new bio-engineered plague, where the initial clue is a change in skin color for a standard villain group; “That’s odd! Since when do Warriors have bright orange skin?”

If the customization went beyond just changing colors to the addition of changeable costume parts, I’d love to do a take on the Clockwork deciding to try to “blend in” to the human population by adding fake flesh (like the old Star Trek episode with Data and the Borg queen). If I can’t re-skin some of the clockwork because of those rather radical body types on some, perhaps I can add existing robotic limbs to Shockers (for that electricity feel) so the player still sees a hybrid mechanical and fleshy foe which from their perspective they can’t tell is a human going toward clockwork, or a clockwork evolving toward human.

Unfortunately, these ideas lose impact if only the “end goal” foe can be modified. Letting the mobs fought along the way also inherent some of the changes would add to the immersion of such story lines.

I’d also LOVE to be able to script a ‘costume change’ in the MA, perhaps even link it to a mission event like a defeat and resurrection (a la Freakshow rez). Great for those “surprise possession” storylines: *Hero defeats the signature foe. Foe rises in the (costume change) form of CoT Balrog. “Okay, you destroyed the shell I took so long to craft. I guess I’ll have to take yours instead.” *Hero* “Like heck!”*

Don't just make AVs/Heroes reskinnable. Make all enemy NPCs from minions on up reskinnable. If possible, even make the pedestrians walking around customizable.

My main suggestion is to allow us to pick and choose minions, Leuitenants, and bosses from different enemy factions, reskin and rename them, and put them together to form our own player created enemy factions. These player created factions can be listed just like the player created missions to be rated and even used by other players. Player created factions that earn the Devs Choice or Hall of Fame could even find there way into radio/paper missions.

All just a strategic bait n switch.... roll out the negatives first(issue 13) then roll out the positives (issue 14).

However, timing of the negatives couldnt be worse when you factor what else is going on.

[/ QUOTE ]

Could you tell me whats negative about i13?

[/ QUOTE ]

Power changes.

Power changes are ALWAYS bad, until you can prove it didn't change anything someone liked, and only improved what others like. By about 5000% percent.

[/ QUOTE ]

Power changes doesn't = negative, that's just you being negative. The recent changes to MoG and Rage come to mind as changes that were totally full of win.

I'm eager to see how pervasive "Replace powers people don't use with more useful stuff" is. Pool powers would also be a good place for this kind of thinking.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed 100%

Pool powers could really use some love, and we could REALLY use a couple completely new pools. A second fighting pool of just melee attacks with some fresh animations would be nice. A dual pistols pool would be freakin rad! Throwing daggers would be another great pool. As long as the attacks do only moderate damage...I don't see it breaking anything. I'd just love to see some new "neutral" pools that make sense with any AT or theme.

As for the PVP zones, yes, doing PVE content there will be harder.

[/ QUOTE ]

Once you zone into a door mission in a PvP zone; will you still be considered as being in a PvP zone? Or will your powers revert to following the PvE rules until you exit the instanced mission?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was wondering about this also. You'd think it would revert back to PvE rules.
22. [ QUOTE ]
You'd probably have to be careful about custom Minions. The customized Bosses will probably put a strain on people's computers similar to that of player characters due to the customization, so a mission full of customized spawns could bring a lot of people's games to a crawl, just as if the mission were full of dozens of player characters (think Freedom Atlas Park).

Personally, I think getting the ability to customize Bosses and the like is plenty. And we almost didn't even get that much (but now we do-- yay!)

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe if you put capes and auras on every npc in your missions, but I doubt it would be an issue. They are still NPCs, not seperate players with all thier own connections and data. It wouldn't be like Atlas on Freedom at all.

Basicly you just need to upgrade your rig if you have issues anyways. Please don't make the argument that we shouldn't get something cool because your rig (or others)might not be able to handle it. MMOs have to progress and evolve to stay fresh. You upgarde and keep pace with them or you lag. They can't compete, and maintain a great MMO if they worry about the dude playing on his Tandy.
23. It's not even that Patrons suck so much as it's that there is no neutral powers that can be used by any character. If your character doesn't want to shoot electricity, puke chum on people, fart ghost sharks, or use an arachnos mace....your SoL.

How bout' an Elite Malta Gunslinger patron with dual pistol powers? Vangaurd Patron? Rularru patron? Carnie Patron? How about opening up a bit? or just give villains a choice between Patron powers or the same EPPs heroes get.

24. Noone knows how many options we will have as far as powers for created enemy NPCs. If we can select powers to build NPCs that would be great, but I suspect it will be more like we choose existing NPCs and just reskin/rename them. That's fine with me, but I do have a suggestion.

[b][i]Don't just make AVs/Heroes reskinnable. Make all enemy NPCs from minions on up reskinnable. If possible, even make the pedestrians walking around customizable.
