The reason you are seeing it in the first place is because of Auto Assault. They calculate their rewards based on paid time.
However - we will be basing ours on played time (beta doesn't count tho yo).
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me get this straight...
So, if a Friend and I both had our own accounts since CoH Day 1, never lapsed on a renewal, always had an active account...
I've played... 5000 hours, he's played 1000 (arbitrary numbers), but we've paid for the same amount of time... I would receive more Vet rewards than him?
[/ QUOTE ]
I was just wondering the same....if so that s bullsh%&. So our money is good enough to take but not good enough to get the full benefits. Sorry some of us have real life things going on and dont have all freaking day to play your game...but hey..our money is good enough...this is so f d up. This is got to be the stupidest move by you guys yet............

UnBunch Thy Panties. It's LENGTH of Time, not Total Hours Played. That's why it's measured in Months, not HOURS. -

No. You have both been playing for the same LENGTH of time. It's LENGTH of time, not Total Hours Played. -

The Devs have already said it includes 'free' months. Why are we still talking about this?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because the Forums are in DoooomCon 3 right now, and that includes, I believe, 'some rampant speculation about things in the future that may or may not affect anyone at all but people still want something to post about'. -

Oh, not agonizing. Just theorizing.

The prestige was added to the supergroup. It won't show up under each character's row in the SG window.

That makes much more sense.
Also, I should sleep before I read things, or something.

Sleep? That's a waste of play time. Something to do at work I suppose.

Work? That when I read the Forums. ;-) -

I bet you if the Devs take away Gauntlet but still leave the Gauntlet icon on...no one would be able to tell that it's gone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow. That's just woefully untrue. Tanks got a massive increase when they got punchvoke.
[/ QUOTE ]
In my opinion, Gauntlet suffers from 'Green Number Syndrome'. People can't visibly measure it's effect, so of course that means it is not useful - the same way so many measure the contribution of a "Healer" vs that of the other Support AT's. -
It's there for them if they really want it. There's just that one little requirement..

I would like to add a "Woot!", with the subcategory of 'Finally..'

*Updating as I find out more*
Uplink_OoT did a great job a while back, compiling a list of Hamidon Enhancements. What I'd like to do is put together a list of which powers the more 'Exotic' HO's can help. I want to be able to tell people "'X' HO affects these powers ...". Help fill in the list with whatever you can.
Easy ones:
Nucleolus Exposure - Damage and Accuracy:
-Too many to list. If you dont know what can use this, you shouldnt have bought the account. ;-)
Centriole Exposure - Damage and Range:

Membrane Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Buffs, and Increase Attack Rate:

-Tank/Scrapper Invulnerability Invincibility (not optimal slotting, but can use)
-Warshade Secondary - Umbral Aura - Shadow Cloak
Cytoskeleton Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Buffs, and Endurance Reduction:

-Defender/Controller Sonic - Liquefy (-DEF, END redux)
[/ QUOTE ]
Quibble point.
Liquefy is (-Def, -Acc, Hold, Knockdown)
So with Enzymes the benefit should be (-Def, -Acc, End Redux).
Also the hold component does require a to-hit check so Lysosomes could also be quite usefull. (-Def, -Acc, +ToHit)(However the format works.)
Makes both enhancements quite good for Liquefy since the power actually uses all components.

Quibble duly noted - and Liquefy is already listed under both HO types. -

Well, after a few radiation defender-playing people got all swirled into a tizzy over tar patch having a -res debuff, you might be right...
Then again, there weren't many frenzies after armor stacking was added, after Dark Miasma got its needed boost, and so on.

Rumors and lies!
There were so many problems with exploits that the devs regularly remove elements from the game that allow unbalanced XP gain. Remember the Winter Lord fiasco?
I think the announcement applies to the test server.

And you'd be right.
The announcement on our forum.

Um, you'd be wrong.
The announcement from CuppaJoe is for this weekend for the test server, but the (unofficial) announcement for the live server is for the weekend of the 21st...

It pretty much has to do with the whole Nerf concept. A nerf anything is weaker than it's Real Life equivalent. Think about a real sword vs a Nerf one. It used to mean that a power or ability was reduced to uselessness, but as all terms used on the internet, it's meaning has been broadened to include any reduction no matter how insignificant.
[/ QUOTE ]
Even broader - I've seen the term used even when a power was getting strengthened - called a "Good Nerf" or a "Positive Nerf".
It's become synonymous with the word 'change' now.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have never seen the word nerf to referr to anything that is a buff. Most of the time something is change to become better it is usually referred to as being buffed or boosted or something else but never "nerfed".
Nerf in general as far as I have experienced means less. Not "change". Maybe changed to become less but never just change.
I don't think any real gamers out there would ever call their powers/loot "nerfed" if it got a boost.
You know we the player base would never call anything nerfed again if they would simply stop nerfing stuff. Hence the end of negative stigma.
I would personally rather get everything else boosted than singling someting out and nerfing it. This way we can feel "super" again and not just garden variety hero.
~ my 2 cents
[/ QUOTE ]
We both agree that that it should NOT mean 'change'. But, nevertheless, I have seen it used that way - here on these very boards. Wheter you consider them "real" gamers or not, I have seen more than one person use it that way. I try to get them to not do it, but it's become seciond nature to some people - any "change" is a "nerf".
I disagree with you though, that they should "boost all other powers instead of 'fixing' one or two. -

There are a huge number of controller powers that need to be added to Peroxisome and Endoplasm. Most sets have a single target immobilize that does damage and needs accuracy. Most sets have a single target hold that can use both. Many of the sets have an AoE immobilize that does some damage and definitely needs accuracy (most have a -20% acc penalty). Some sets have an AoE hold that need accuracy, and may do some damage.
For example, you need to add under both: Stone Prison, Fossilize, Stone Cages and Stalagmites from Earth Control, and Ring of Fire, Char, Fire Cages and Flashfire from Fire Control. Those are off the top of my head, but there are others as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
I asked the Controller Forum for their Input, and did not get many replies - and since I don't have all those AT's, I can't contribute any information.
Personally, I'm not incredibly concerned with the Acc/mez or Dama/mez enhancers, unless they are things people might not know about. I've listed what has been provided - but I'll have to count on Generic Game Knowledge to fill in what hasn't been provided.
[ QUOTE ]
Also, Earth Control's Quicksand does not take Defense Debuff enhancements. The Defense Debuff of 20% is not enhancible.
I don't have time now, but I will try to take a look later.

Hmm .. I have Quicksand, and I thought that I had Defense Debuffs slotted in it. I will confirm that tonight -

Cytos--scrapper--dark armor--Cloak of darkness--Combat jumping

Can someone confirm what enhancers Dark Armor takes? I thought we had that up in the past, but it was shot down ..
Combat jumping? Sure - I'll add it - but adding the disclaimer that it's not recommeded (since it gives very little defense and uses little End) ;-) -

Just added this patch note to PvP section:
Being defeated in a PvP zone will carry debt if any of the damage to you was caused by NPCs. The amount of debt is directly proportional to the amount of damage you took from NPCs vs. how much was done by opposing Player Characters. The more damage dealt to you by NPCs means more debt when you are defeated.
* This means that you can no longer escape debt by being defeated by a PC after taking massive damage from NPCs, nor will you be penalized with a massive amount of debt if you are defeated by an NPC after taking a huge amount of damage from a PC.
[/ QUOTE ]
wow....not like there were a bunch of folks running to pvp zones as is. I know for one, that I won't be going back.
Bad idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
I fail to see how it is a 'bad idea'. You may not like it, but that really doesn't make it bad - especially since you go into no details.
I think it's a fine idea. Reduces the amount of debt you get for damage done to you by players. How can that be "bad"? -

Will the proposed AV Regen rollback effect Mitos and Hami?
[/ QUOTE ]
The Hamidon and the Mitochandria were specifically exempted from the original AV/GM changes. As such, there is nothing to roll back for them, in this regard.

You and Cuppajo are at odds. She says one thing you say another.
Clean up your act guys and try to get this stuff in patch notes and have a concensous first before telling us this inaccurate data.

No, actually they aren't. One is referring to AV/GM AI (Cuppa), the other to the Health buff (Castle). They are not the same thing. Hammy and Friends behave like AV/GM's - but they were excluded from the AV/GM Health Buff that was published. -

Its obvious that the player base (see: paying customers) is happy with your performance. Keep up the good work, devs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never said I was 'happy' about the change, nor am I 'The Playerbase'. Just clearing up your question. -

From Cuppa:

The Mitos are AVs and are acting according to this patch note:
AVs/Heroes and Giant Monsters now ignore threat level damage multipliers for different Archetypes. They are still affected by Taunt as before.

Which is it?
[/ QUOTE ]
The two statements ar not mutually exclusive. They can both be True. They do act as AV's, use any AV associated AI, etc.. .. but they did not gain the massive HP boost/Regen boost.
