Quote:People like you make Santa Claus sad."I can't solo him on my incredibly low-damage character with a team-oriented primary!
What? Get a team for this team challenge? How dare the devs refuse to fuel my anti-social attitude in a massively multiplayer video game?!"
Good going, Santa-hater. -

I think it has very good bones and overall it's quite good. I really like how you've structured the panels and altered the outfits with the blood spatters. Excellent.
There are some typos and misspellings that could be policed up. "Firefight" is one word, for instance. Splitting it in two means a fight using fire. There were a couple instances of "your" where it should be "you're." Page 6 you say "arial" when it's spelled "aerial."
Strongwall's dialogue is impossible to read without zooming in, so after the first time I just assumed he was speaking ebonics and skipped it.
My main quibble would be with the recap Giga-Ton gives in the middle. It almost reads as if that's the first page of Issue 2. Having just read the previous 13 pages, it's pretty much unnecessary. It'd be better to eliminate all of that and just focus on his recounting of Raven's backstory. Spread the info on the top of page 15 over that two-page spread and it will maintain the story's forward momentum.
Overall score: A-. Looking forward to the next one. -
Wow, that's super-nice of you, Foo!
I'll offer my Christmas gal, Yuletide Carol:

I can see if one isn't aware of what those names mean then you are missing an entire level of meaning in that sequence. Once you know what's going on, it takes on a fuller flavor. -
I wouldn't swear to it, but I think the songs playing on the jukebox were hits from just after Tron ended. Lyrically, both the Journey song and the Eurythmics song underscored the theme of Sam's quest.

Quote:Wow, what a load of nonsense. Did you get a discount on that load?Always better for you, perhaps. If a movie or book is truly good, in my experience the whole will hold up just as well if you learn about bits of it piecemeal or not. If that were untrue, then re-watching/reading a book/movie later would always be an unpleasant experience given that you'd already experienced the whole of it. Then again, maybe that's true for you: maybe you have to have shiny new surprise at all times to find enjoyment in something; for my part, it's rare that I'm surprised by character/plot payouts anyway.
The second time you watch a movie the EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT. Why? Because you know what's going to happen. That colors everything you see. Seeing The Usual Suspects the first time is a gobsmacking experience when you get to the end. Watching it the second time, on the other hand, you're looking for the hints and clues that lead to that ending.
That's a different experience. That's what spoilers do to you. Q.E.D. Anyone with half a brain can see that. I know you half a brain Tenzhi, so arguing the opposite is ridiculous. -
Because it's impossible. That's why. Knowing the outcome, knowing the twists, knowing the character arc... that changes your experience. Claiming otherwise is utter BS. You were one of those kids who snooped his Christmas presents, too, weren't you?

Quote:You didn't like the action because someone told you not to.Spoilers don't ruin my experience, never have, and never will.
If you think the movie was good with it's rushed action scenes and horribly plot holed story then great, you enjoyed something. If you don't see the problem with what was stated in the movie then I'm not going to convince you, no matter whether I'm right or wrong, that that there is a problem so I don't see the point in continuing this conversation.
As for the plot holes, well, that's case of you Just Not Getting It. Sorry. -

I'd like more space, too. Custom critters are the single best thing about the AE because it's a break from the usual. Same old maps, same exact spawn points... might as well have interesting enemies to fight. I don't know how many times I've had to completely revamp my ideas because the custom creatures made me hit the data limit. Another reason why I've just given up.

Quote:To quote the usual gang of idiots:Actually, I got killed by caltrops a couple of weeks ago testing a build at x8. Soft-capping has weaknesses, and that's one of them.
"LOL - that never happened!"
"Learn to play, noob."
"You need to play a different character and use your Inspirations plus temp powers. That's why the Devs put them there, duh."
"Your doinng it rong." -
Quote:I thought Johnny used the term correctly when he talked about people wanting to be leet and purpling out their characters while telling the rest of us how to play. "Learn to play" seems to be an undercurrent of munchkin attitude, and that has been displayed in spades. Heck, it's in the snarky titles of these threads. It should be noted that Jimmy is (as Arcana pointed out) using it incorrectly. Munchkin is an insulting term implying that the person's sole interest is in winning and becoming more powerful than everyone else and is perfectly willing to break the rules to do so. The related terms min-maxer and power-gamer are also not entirely applicable to the sort of people who want end-game content (although they are closer than Munchkin). End-game content does, by it's very nature, require a certain degree of min-maxing since the devs are bound to select a "base power level" that is somewhat above average. But it's perfectly possible to want challenging content without being interested in min-maxing.

Dear Santa,
I want a pony to ride the streets of Paragon City.
...with a friggin' laser on her head.
Thank you,
Ironik
PS - Also, no peace on Earth, please. My Scrapper has behinds to kick. -
Quote:Spoilers *must* affect your opinion, because then there are no surprises. Discovery is pretty much the entire point of storytelling. Nevermind plot twists like the Kobayashi Maru reveal in Star Trek II or the "I see dead people" twist of Sixth Sense, the unfolding of the story and revelation of character are why we watch movies and television and read books at all. If you already know what's going to happen, you can't experience that. It's impossible, in fact.I would have liked/disliked it the same regardless of seeing any review and that is why I don't care about spoilers. They don't effect my opinion of whatever.
Therefore spoilers ruin your experience, period. Seeing something cold is always better. Always. Anyone who says differently is wrong. -
Quote:Did you sleep through the explanation of how they came to be? And of what they can do? And why Clu committed genocide against them? Dude, that was the entire middle part of the movie. And, by the way, key to Flynn's character, the essence of the conflict and the point of the plot.PownUnoobs, ISOs are no different than other programs other than they are hated apparently and even if they were they had nothing to do with "genetic algorithms or quantum teleportation." People really need to stop treating quantum mechanics like magic. Also programs could leave the Grid without it which is why Flynn but the portal far away from the city.
You know, it's almost as if you had more information *before* you watched the movie. How can anyone see a movie and miss such obvious things is beyond me.
You sound like this:
"Wait... are you telling me there was an alien in E.T.: The Extraterrestrial?! I call BS!" -
Quote:As I've said, not liking a movie is one thing, but making crap up to "prove" your dislike is ridiculous. There were plenty of long shots and medium shots (and at least one very long shot) during the lightjet fight, and they talked about their tactics. What about the Light jets at the end... It was just a repeat of the light cycle thing but worse cuz all the scenes were pulled in to close to the objects and you never get a sense of scale or any tactics being used.
I really get the impression you watched this movie already hating it, so you didn't actually pay attention to it. The so-called "plot holes" you're talking about don't exist, and criticisms such as the above are just nonsense because the filmmakers very clearly showed the scale of the battle. Remember all those giant oblong cube things? They were larger than skyscrapers and the jets were flying among them. That's what's known as a long shot. -
I think it's a fake-out and only one will survive. Which will be Johnny. Then Bendis will take over and next year Marvel will re-launch Fantastic Four, then add Secret Fantastic Four (Franklin Richards, Spidey, She-Hulk & Wolverine), Fantastic Four West (Hercules, Black Widow, Black Knight & Wolverine) and New Fantastic Four (Ms. Marvel, Ben Reilly, Hulk Hogan & Wolverine).

I read a few reviews which were beyond positive about Hickman's run on FF, so I picked up a few. Wow, was that a mistake. Not only am I curious as to what kind of drugs Hickman is taking, I also wonder what the hell the reviewers are ingesting to heap such praise on his writing.
