It doesn't matter when you added the slots. If a power has 6 slots, it will have 6 slots no matter how low you exemp. As long as you have that power available, it will have 6 slots. However, the ENHANCEMENTS will be affected by exemping. There are channels for badges, task forces, regular missions, incarnate content, etc, etc. Many channels are specific to a server so I would suggest posting in the forum section for the server you prefer and asking people what channels they recommend.
By the way, when I say "no matter what server they are on" and "Many channels are specific to a server"; those sentences are not contradictory. Most channels cater to a specific server but anyone who joins that channel can see it and chat on it no matter what server they are on at that time. -

I could have sworn it used to be a half hour. Maybe they changed it to longer to make the temporary one more valuable without having to make the temporary one be a really short recharge?
