  1. I would like to enter another hero of mine. Knight-Archer is a vigilante Archery/fire blaster.

Verification of lvl 50 and bio (sorry about the size of this pic, I resized it and reposted, but the forum wants to keep the original supersize version):

Also, and alternate costume and lvl 50 verification for my first entry, Aniketos Pium (also adding this image to my original post):

Snarky jerk was not my intention. It was an (apparantly failed) attempt at humor, and the OP has my apologies if they were offended by the comment. In all seriousness, welcome to the game and to the forums. We like to pick on each other.

More customization options for travel powers has been something I have wanted since I started, long before I dinged "snarky jerk". It was a good idea when it was first suggested, and remains a good idea today.

    As always...

  3. (Sarcastic post removed for being unintentionally insulting and generally unfunny.)
  4. A few of the regulars have sent me messages advising they can not make it for DP night tonight, so for this week only, Dual Pistols Night has been moved to Friday. Post above has been edited to reflect the correct date and start time.

Looking at what it does now, it is like the fine detail extreme of what I am talking about - if you are going to specify the EXACT thing you want to join (e.g. BAF) then you might as well make it a "turnstile" system to plop you right into the BAF. If you are looking at it that way, it doesn't make sense to implement what I am proposing - why have the middle step at all?

Of course I would respond that some nights I just want to find a non-radio mission team, I don't want to do a particular thing. If future LFG expansions are heading that way, great. But the only thing I have heard about from the devs though is adding more "events" into the turnstile (e.g. Hamidon or the Praetorian events), rather than making it a "looking for group" system. The programming behind the scenes might allow for it to be a LFG system - I wouldn't know, but the externals of it are quite different in interface and intent than what I would think it would be if they were heading there.

Anyway, just a thought in case they haven't considered this approach!
Please let me be very clear when I say, my above post has no base in fact or in anything the devs themselves have said. It just seems to be the implied goal if the function follows a logical progression.

Cross server teaming for instanced trials could also be the long term goal. Unfortunately, as Rodion pointed out, the two options are mutually exclusive. Time will tell either way, but at the very least, I think the LFG function is in its infancy and will be growing into something more useful down the line.
  6. I imagine this is likely what the devs have in mind too, eventually. The LFG as it stands today is the foundation. I think we will see it improved issue by issue until it's function is similar to what you have described here.

...I think Taylor Swift is awesome.
  8. Keeping in mind I know absolutely nothing about resources required for development, it seems that this would require a lot of time and man power to develop. I think this is another great idea that we just don't have resources for.

That being said, it is indeed a great idea. I love the concept of my heroes travelling through time to fight evil. My time-travelling cowboy from 1862 could finally live up to his concept.
  9. Tomorrow, FRIDAY MAY 20th at 7:00 PM Central Time, we will be running the Mortimer Kal Strike Force (lvl 20-40) in Sharkhead Isle.
  10. Funny to see this thread today, because last night, thanks to Netflix, I just finished up the ABC remake of Life on Mars. The show was absolutely amazing, and I remember catching the first few episodes when it aired, but they pulled the same 3 month hiatus crap that ruins a lot of good shows. Ratings plumeted and the show was cancelled. Fortunately the writers had time to write a finale but if you've seen it, you know we would have been better off without it. It angers me that shows like this with real potential, never get a chance to suceed, but Grey's Anatomy and its spinoff get shoved down our throats. I'll take my TV from cable, thank you very much.
  11. Don't get me wrong. I love Smallville too and I think it was a great show. The first four seasons are among my favorite TV ever. Season 5 and 6 were enjoyable as well, but after that...not so much.
  12. For me, the show peaked in Season 4, and had all but died by Season 6. Season 7 was close to unwatchable. Season 8 got off to a decent start and crashed and burned towards the end. I just gave up at that point and haven't watched an episode since.
  13. There is always room for a new recruit. We have about 6 regulars that show up almost every week so we usually have a couple spots to fill. Most of us are in the 40ish level range, but we do often exemp down to run lower level TFs and SFs. This Thursday the plan is to run the Mortimer Kal Strike Force in Sharkhead Isle which is level 20-40, so as long as you can ding 20 before Thursday, we would be happy to have you. (Most of us have a western theme going on, but this is in no way a requirement.)
  14. In my opinion Japer Fforde comes second only to Vonnegut for sheer comedy. The "Evade the Question Time" bit from Something Rotten is one of the funniest things I have ever read.

Having only recently discovered Fforde, I have not yet had the chance to read Shades of Grey, but it is definitley high on my summer reading list. I just finished The Big Over Easy, so The Fourth Bear is next in line.

    What to make?

*Waits for obligatory Dechs post suggesting the MFing War Shade*
  16. Good fun last night on our first red side strike force. The turnout was a bit low, but that was to be expected on the first villain night. Next week, we will continue on red side and tackle the new Mortimer Kal Strike Force in Sharkhead Isle.
  17. Has anyone read the latest in Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series? I am a huge fan of the first five books, but this new one seems to be getting mixed reviews. Is it worth buying?
  18. I have never played an invuln tank, but have always heard it performs very well, so I'm sure it would serve you well. The best part about this game is that it is designed to encourage players to create multiple characters resulting in what we call "altaholism". The correct answer in the Invuln vs WP question is...make both.

That's exactly what they are. I should be in game this evening at some point, I'll shot you a global friend request and time permitting give you a SG base tour if you like. My global is @Guardian Irish-Fury
  20. Freedom is my home server, and you are right about the population. Finding a team is never difficult. I'm not sure where you are in the world, but Union is a EU based server, so if you are playing at North American peak times, you may have a hard time finding a team on Union. Fair warning though, Freedom's Atlas Park is full of people spamming for power leveling. I recommend what I wish someone had recommended to me when I started...stay away from AE farms. Experience the game world and get out of Atlas Park.

Note: I am a member of a large and active super group on Freedom if you are interested in such things.
  21. What server are you playing on? I'd be happy to meet up in game and show off my WP tank so you can see what you have to look forward to .
  22. Another vote here for willpower. It is a great "set it and forget it" powerset, very low maintenence so you can focus your energy on bashing stuff. It gives good layered mitigation. By that I mean that you get good defense to keep you from getting hit, good resistance so that when you get hit, it doesnt hurt much, and good regen so that the HP you do lose is recovered quickly. My lvl 50 WP/Axe tank is nigh undestructable. The weak taunt aura is a consideration, but as stated above, if you are bashing bad guys in the face, they stay pretty well taunted.
  23. Tonight we will be meeting at 7:00 PM Central time in Cap Au Diable to run the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force (lvl 15-20). You must be a vigilante, rogue, or villain to join.

    Slotted + Spiritual: ~130%
    Hasten: 70%

It is very difficult to go beyond that. Shield Defense on a Brute or Scrapper would have to sacrifice defense. Most Shield Defense builds I have seen only get about 70% recharge from set bonuses.
I'll double check my numbers then. Your figures look about right, so it seems I was mistaken.
  25. I really wish I has access to mids at work . I have a WP/Axe tank that is softcapped to S/L/E/N/F/C and I'm sure the build could be easily transferred to a stone/WP brute. I know this isn't any help at all...but it is possible. When I get home tonight I will take a stab at a build for you. WP is an amazing set. Going from memory, I have the aforementioned softcapped defense, 70% resist to S/L, and 700% regen with one enemy in range.
