Here lately, I am in love with Praetoria. When it was first released, I stayed away from it because I felt like it was too difficult for solo play, but as I've learned to play the ATs, I find the challenge to be a lot of fun. I just finished up the responsibility line on my Loyalist, and have characters ready to go for the other story lines. I just wish we had post level 20 content in Praetoria...hopefully we shall down the line.

Quote:I typically duo with a friend of mine and we are constantly coming up with new duo concepts, each one as awesome and fun as the last. While Freedom is my home, Virtue would be my vacation home. I think we have 8 toons each there. I'll look you up next time we end up on Virtue. If you want to bounce around virtue, I have characters who love company of any build, any level on all three sides. @Rapunzel.
I spend just as much time trying write interesting bios as I do on the costumes. I am far more interested in a good character concept than an uber build. I've even taken to writting bios for character concepts while at work and sending them to my personel e mail. It's not something I'm proud of, but it is what it is. -
My name is Patrick, and I am an altaholic.
I have been playing CoX for six months and I have 26 toons across three servers with no end in sight. I just can't stop making new toons. I play them to about the 20s and then I want to make another one. It's not that I get bored with the toon...I always come back to them, but I just can't resist trying that next AT or powerset. I love all my toons dearly and equally. Kinetic melee, and dual pistols, you are both so pretty. Elec/Shield, you are smashirific. Energy blaster, you make me smile with the chaos that constant KB brings. Oh how I love thee dominators; No matter what combo I make out of you, sheer joy overcomes me. Stone armor, I have my eye on you, and a concept is cooking. I can stop anytime I want...really I can.
Would anyone else like to share? -
Quote:Tuesday's a rather bad time for these sorts of things thanks to it being the first day for each new Weekly Strike Target - which is probably one of the reasons why so few showed up yesterday.
But Rotten Ronnie Raines'll try to be there...
You know, that is a great point that I had not even considered. Is there any other day you would prefer? Mondays and Fridays are generally out for me. Thursdays are usually open. Weekends are unpredictible. -
Positron works for me. I am a glutton for punishment I guess, so I am rather partial to the Synapse TF, but Posi is good fun as well. So here goes... Positron Task Force, Thursday February 24th at 6:00 PM Central Time. Fellow dual pistols enthusiasts add your character name to the below list to reserve your spot.
1. Cobalt-Cowboy lvl 24 DP/Kin Corr
2. BraveStarr lvl 24 DP/Therm Corr

Yeah, while the turn out was a bit low the first night out, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Let's all spread the word and get our fellow "duelies" out next week, same time and place.
For those who wanted to come but couldn't, we finished the Keith Nance and Jenny Adair arcs, and did the first two missions of the Roy Cooling arc. Even with only four of us, we didn't hit any challenge that was too much for us. With all of the buffs, debuffs, heals, and bullets flying, nothing we came across stayed alive very long. Next week, if we have a good enough turnout, I wouldn't mind taking a crack at a TF. Posi or Synapse anyone? -
That's four confirmed,
1. Cobalt-Cowboy Lvl 22 DP/Kin Corr @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr Lvl 22 DP/Therm Corr @Gastbi
3. Rotten Ronnie Raines Level 23 DP/Rad Corr @JDGumby
4. Crow Seven lvl 31 @DeltaOmega
Who else? -
Hello all...what I thought was a grapics card issue, turned out to be an elderly motherboard taking its final breath, so I have been without a computer for the past week, but I got a new one and am ready to rock and roll. If everyone is still on board for the DP super team, then I say let's have our first outing tonight @ 6:00 PM Central Time. Meet in Talos Island on the dirt hill beside the train station. Any open spots, we can fill with Pugs if need be.
Confirmed for Tuesday Feb 15th @ 6:00 PM Central Time:
1. Cobalt-Cowboy Lvl 22 DP/Kin Corr @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr Lvl 22 DP/Therm Corr @Gastbi
If you can make it, please post below so I can hold a spot for you. -
There is going to have to be a change of plan. My graphics card was possessed by some kind of demon over the weekend, and my rig is in the shop. No CoH for me for a few days
We can shoot for next Tuesday the 15th if no one objects.

Perhaps...Supergirl? Not likely I'm sure, but if done right, could be very cool.

If your proposal went live today, I would buy it and slot it right now.

I had a thought today while sitting at my desk pretending to work. Is it possible that the level shift now available could result in a drop in purple recipe prices? Follow my resoning:
I make inf two ways: Marketeering, and farming for purple drops. I farm for purples with a diff setting of +0x8. With the level shift, the difficulty is effectively dropped to -1x8 meaning I will kill mobs faster, increasing my chances of getting a purple in the same amount of time. I know purple farming is a fairly popular activity, at least among the folks I play regularly with. Will this possible increase in supply be enough to cause recipe prices to begin falling? -
True Story:
Once upon a time there was something called SSD. There was also something else that was called HDD. And then there was a guy named Irish Fury who didn't know what either of those things were. He read a forum post about the two being compared and was asked to tell a true story. The story he told was sarcastic and most likely not welcome by the OP.
THE END -
1. Cobalt-Cowboy Level 21 DP/Kin Corr @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr Level 22 DP/Therm Corr @Gastbi
3. @Dr Gemini Level 50 DP Blaster
4. Rotten Ronnie Raines Level 23 DP/Rad Corr @JDGumby
5. rlloyd DP blaster (Dependant upon start time)
6. @Lotus Dom (Dependant upon start time)
7. Crow Seven lvl 31 @DeltaOmega
8. Earp lvl 47 DP Blaster @B0BBLE
That gives us a full team, but it's always nice to have more because I'm sure everyone won't make it every week. If we get more than 8 to show up, we can split and run two teams.
Everyone seems to be playing existing toons so I see no reason to go back to Praetoria. Let's make Tuesday, February 8th at 6:00 PM Central our first meeting. Meet in Talos Island on the big hill beside the train station. For our first outing, I'm thinking we can run the doppleganger arc if no one objects. It's one of my favorites. -
Seven so far have expressed interest. Now if we can just pin down a time and day of the week. Does anyone have objections to 6:00 PM Central Time on Tuesdays? Those of you rolling up new toons for this, which ATs are you planning on? If everyone is either over lvl 20 or using hero ATs, i would prefer to start on hero side, but if someone wants to play a villain AT, we can meet up in Praetoria. Either way is fine with me.
1. Cobalt-Cowboy Level 21 DP/Kin Corr @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr Level 22 DP/Therm Corr @Gastbi
3. @Dr Gemini Level 50 DP Blaster

If I'm not mistaken, there is a "quiet room" at Wentworths...It's called King's Row Wentworth's. This is where I always to do my marketeering. I play on Freedom, and still rarely see more than a couple people there.

Hold the phone! Are you suggesting Batman is sometimes morally ambiguous? NO WAY!!!!

Very cool post, and signed in every sense of the word. Since you love dual pistols so, you may be interested in this.

Admittedly, it was not just the guilt that led me to delete the characters. One was a spines/fire scrapper that I found to be extremely boring, and lacking the smash! factor that I get from my elec/shield. The other was a widow and when playing solo, it was underwhelming. I filled up my character slots on my home server, and didn't want to pay for transfers. Since I had very little time invested, they got replaced.
-
So far, all of the interested parties seem to already have a DP toon leveled past Praetoria, so we can just skip Praetoria and meet up on blue side, and perhaps fight our way through some TFs. Maybe we can start with Posi and work our way up?
As far as time goes, I am pretty flexible. Weekends are usually no good for me, but any night during the week after 6 PM Central works well. How about Tuesdays or Thurdays? Any preferences?
The tentative lineup, so far:
1. Cobalt-Cowboy Level 21 DP/Kin Corr @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr Level 22 DP/Therm Corr @Gastbi
3. @Dr Gemini Level 50 DP Blaster
4. Ronnie Raines Level 23 DP/Rad Corr @JDGumby
5. rlloyd DP blaster (Dependant upon start time)

Hello, my Name is Irish-Fury, and I am an altaholic. My altoholism made the evil monkey farms impossible to resist. I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyway. This is not something I am proud of. I leveled two toons from 1-50 during that dark time, and deleted them both because I just felt dirty.
I've been playing just over 6 months and have three legit level 50s. I love them all dearly, and don't see ever deleting them.
Energy/Energy Blaster- Aniketos Pium, My first 50 and a blast to play.
Elec/Shield Brute- Irish-Fury, My main badge toon.
Archery/Fire Blaster- Knight-Archer, Probably my most fun toon to play in teams. -
I picked up "Knight-Archer" on Freedom and couldn't believe it was available. There are still plenty of good iconic hero names out there.
-
Sounds good Gemini. So far we only have three people in. I'd to have at least one full team before we schedule anything.
1. Cobalt-Cowboy DP/Kin Cor @Guardian Irish-Fury
2. Brave Starr DP/Therm Cor @Gastbi
3. @Dr Gemini DP Blaster

Also, I was on your mothership raid last night. One of the best raids I've been on, but the lag was killing our team. A few got frustrated and left, but other than that, very good raid. I collected a ton of Vanguard merits. -
During double XP weekend, one of my goals was to level my DP/Kin Corruptor to 20 and get him out of Praetoria. I logged in at level 10 and started recruting folks to run missions. I took the first 7 replies, and sent out invites. After everyone arrived at the mission door, I took a second to check out everyone's powersets out of curiousity. To my amazement, out of an 8 person team, we had 6 dual pistols characters, 4 corruptors and 2 blasters. We had no tank or brute, and if I recall correctly, the other two on the team were a mastermind and a stalker.
We started the mish and you would not believe the absolute slaughter that ensued. With all the buffs/debuff and bullets flying around, we steam rolled through missions with very few deaths. This got me thinking, "how awesome would a full team of dual pistols really be?" So here I am, asking the forum population if anyone would be interested in starting up a weekly dual pistols super team.
The only requirement would be that one of your powersets be dual pistols, meaning you would be limited to blaster, corruptor, or defender. I think a thugs mastermind would work as well. My thinking is, we could start in Praetoria, so all ATs/powersets could be in play, and level our way up,then head over to blue side. My DP/kin is currenly lvl 20, but I would be happy to come back to Praetoria and exemp down with the team.
If this sounds like something you would be in to, post your info.
Global: @Guardian Irish-Fury
