My girlfriend and i played quietly (as always) together - i've fairly recently introduced her to the game and got her blaster and my second tank our travel powers. The other few friends i have that still play were all pl'ing or using the rwz/oroboros...trick...*cough* exploit *cough* to get insane amounts of influence.I think i prefer what i did with my weekend than what they accomplished - even if i didn't get a bajillion inf or go from level 1- 50 in a weekend *shrugs*.
*edit cause i engrish gud* -
Dark/Dark Having a blast on it to. Still trying to decide which travel power.

I'll go with liar too. Deliberately speaking mistruths...I was gonna post something about flawed game design and why this does nothing to address the underlying issues CoH has...but i am too flabbergasted by this so...i'll just settle for The Dev team (collectively as they all have to wear the blame) are morons who don't understand their own game and what made it fun. They don't play the same version we all play and they have no interest in working with us to make the game better for everyone due to some blind adherance to a flawed concept being pushed by a fork tongued snake oil statesman...err salesman.

I went onto test and i tried out the new burn. It's now pointless. Totally worthless to both a soloing tanker and a grouping tanker. Why?
1. AI and fear changes make the mobs scatter after 2 damage ticks. Tested on level 42 Rikti, level 50 rikti and level level 51 Paragon Protectors (7th Gen). Effect was same for all of them, from Minion through Boss. Solo i cannot use it if i want to use my other attacks and in a group Burn in conjunction with accuracy based, aoe limited and shortened duration holds wont be sufficient to let me use it as part of my tanking role.
2. Recharge 30 seconds. Every 30 seconds i get to scare every mob away from me and encourage them to kill my buddies? Ok.. About the only feasible tactic i can see for burn for the soloer is at the end of an attack cycle.
In it's current for Burn is useless to me. I played my fire/fire to 50 over approximately 400 hours completed a large number of story arcs and acquired many, many badges. I was by no means "a one trick pony", my attacks were FSC, Combustion, Scorch, GFS and Burn. I teamed for maybe a quarter to a third of his career.
That in conjunction with the adjustments to pool defences, the necessity to take take an entire pool just to stop myself being knocked down every 3 or 4 hits makes him no longer fun.
Pre I5 i could never solo AV's, had to be careful tanking for large teams and over time learned to play my build to the best i could, and be good enough to make friends want my help with their builds. Post I5 though i have no clue. I spent days and days of time committed to making a character fun and survivable as i played through the game. From my testing so far on the training room, that wont hold true in the more balanced world. -
Epic power pools wont bring doom obviously, i think they're going to be fun for those that can actually try them and will help them make their character less cookie-cutter oriented. I am interested to see however if the rest off issue 3 has as interesting new content in it for people who aren't level 35 plus. I doubt it but i can always hope.

By the way, that's a false exaggeration.

Actually it's not...i say it based on how i see things - my opinion. I did not say it was a fact - only how it looked. As for souring the game for me, no not particularly - i am however tired of being a second rate citizen of paragon in terms of availability of new content. -
It's sure sounding like this expansion has some nice stuff - if you're over level 40. Am i the only one who seems to see that at least 2/3 of all the new content introduced into the game has been aimed at high level players? It's looking more and more like the developers don't care about anyone under level 20 that plays.
Issue 1 - Game is finished as intended by initial release design
Issue 2 - Screwed over low level players with design errors in the hollows, added lots of nice effects and another extra zone for high level players, effects and capes if you were not under level 20.
Issue 3 - More high level stuff and no mention of stuff for low levels (yet). It's like the percentage of players who aret 38+ don't matter in terms of content for them - oh sure...we get the odd revisited and updated mission, but when it comes to anything else we are just expected to patiently wait through the 2-3 month publish cycles so they can add more for the high levels and tell us to wait again.
I'm not even going to bother about the obligatory anti flaming request of my post, you guys will flame me, but just go back and look at the listing for each new publish and you will see what i mean. Oh, don't bother with the just play and not complain thing either, i do play. I have a 26 blaster and other characters - that's why i got the game...to play it after all...just be nice if of all the new content being added, it was evenly distributed amongst the level ranges.
