I started being the PvPEC representative for Liberty server in mid December and had a lot of gusto and vigor for the position at the time. Then I had computer problems which took me out of the game for about a month, then some real life BS that took me out for a few more weeks, then came back in time to run the February event which didn't turn out so well. My play time has been sporadic, at best, and I am unfortunately anticipating some more RL BS soon which will further complicate my in-game availability.
Long story short, I don't feel I have the time or energy to devote to trying to revitalize PvP on this server. It's not that I don't think it can be done, I just don't feel I will have the availability to contribute to it in the forseeable future.
I'll still be in game from time to time when I can, but CoH has to take a back-burner to the rest of stuff going on right now. I'm not quitting the game and I'm not quitting Shadow Shard Shaturdays (since that is one of the few times I am able to consistently set aside for gaming), but I am quitting the PvPEC.
Thanks for your understanding,
Infernal -
sorry for the late response. The Shadow Shard Shaturdays were suspended for the last few weeks because the usual team was getting a little burned out. There hasnt been much of a response lately when trying to build the teams, so we decided to take a little break. If anyone is anxious to start running the TFs again, we'll start back up next weekend with Justin Augustine at 1pm EST.

The double-names for characters is also a feature of Star Trek Online. I havent played CO but I did a trial for STO and the double names are annoying as hell. It displays on everything; in the chat, in your character info, over your head. You can't just be "Orion" because you are Orion@Something, which I really think detracts from the immersion of an RPG (not that I am an RP'er, just voicing a common gripe). I would hate double names in CoH. It's a good thing it's not run by Cryptic anymore

I have all of the MO badges and I'd be willing to lead a MoSTF on sunday around 5pm EST. If I can log in sooner, I will and we can get togther and do a few practice runs.

I understand the veteran PvP'rs don't enjoy lowbie fightclubs and, frankly, I had expected that. In theory, the reason for doing a low level match was to draw out some of the PvE'rs and to introduce them to PvP at a "novice" level where we could reduce the frustration from being rolled over by the uber-builds. I was hoping to use this event as an introduction to PvP and to gradually increase the level at which the events take place and build up to the high level, fast paced, more skilled matches.
My other hope was that, by interesting the typical PvE crowd, we could then branch out into zone events like what happened in Warburg and take that action into the PvP zones that don't see much activity like Bloody Bay and Siren's Call. I was hoping that starting low and working our way would build the community following from the ground up, so to speak.
Like I said, this works in theory. The practical application was less than stunning. With that in mind, I'll be refocusing my strategy to get bigger crowds into the zones and arenas. I look forward to any input you guys can provide and hope to offer you some better events soon.
thanks,

it was in the LB and PvP of Liberty MotD, as well as broadcasted in both channels 10 minutes prior to and up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, as well as The Crimson Order global channel, coalition channel, and coalition channel of our coalitions. :/ it should have been hard to miss. Of what channels, other than LB, are you guys a member?

Sorry for the lack of posts here. Had to deal with some secret identity stuff (i.e. RL). My account has been expired for a couple of weeks but everything is on the verge of being straightened out. With that in mind, DR Q this Shaturday at 1pm for 122 merits

Greetings! Liberty is a fine server with an active population at all hours. If you'd like to find readily available teams, feel free join the global channels LB, SisterhoodFriends, and Crimson Order (to name a few). The Crimson Order is also available for coalition between our SGs. Just send me an in-game tell to @Carlos Spicy Weiner or send me a PM over the forums.
Look forward to seeing you all in the City! -
