I like your sense of humor.
Very good advice thrown into the humor. From the lack of replies, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the kiddies who pretend to be know-it-alls on the forums, didn't get the humor.
That thought really amuses me.
Good work. -

no AT gets any new powers opened up at lvl 14.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very true but some AT's have so many good selections for powers, that there is not enough room to pick all the powers a player can enjoy ( and fight better with than a travel power ) by 14. So, when most players sacrifice that power selection at 14 for the travel power, some players can pick another very useful or more fun power.
My old controller was a perfect example, as was a scrapper and now a blaster, who is the current incarnation of the controller. My tank has the same issues with the great selections of the Stone Primary/Secondary powers.
It's much more useful for some AT's when there are few, if any bad power choices. The only sacrifice, is the loss of a few slots for effectiveness.

I have to agree 100 % with the OP. What has aggrivated me more than anything, is the increasing number of players with high level characters, who are playing alts, that don't try to pull.
One whole pick-up group, that ended up being alts of players with level 50 characters, didn't even wait to ask if everyone was ready, they just rushed in and aggroed. Zero communication as well. We had three hospital trips in 3 minutes. A lot of debt could have been avoided if they would have just stopped to think. I'm glad I didn't know the people in the group, I would have strangled them.
Some have even said that pulling and strategy isn't important in the game, since the game doesn't support strategy? These people tend to cause more debt and time loss than people who pull.
How did these people get to 50?
Had another PUG, made of new players, in which everyone BUT the team leader was willing to listen about pulling. Everytime I was able to get one mob close to the group, the team "leader" ran up and engaged the mob before it was even close to the group. I guess he needed to show off how mighty his Controller was... with Flurry from the power pools while he didn't try to hold anything. -
Happy 2nd Anniversary City of Heroes.
I've played too many concepts to reach level 50 but I've enjoyed every character I've been distracted by. I love this game and I look forward to more.

Oh how I wish I could find more good Pick-up groups.
The best one I've had recently, was one I helped make happen ( but i don't claim all the credit. We had a good controller and people listened), after the group had a few wipeouts using the Mass Assault type of strategy...which is no strategy at all.
They did this while I shook my head and just tried to get aggro and keep them safe from a large group of Circle of Thorns, including 2 purple Madness Mages, 2 Spectral deamons (purple or red, can't remember), 3 energy mages (red) and several yellow-con minions. The whole group was cramming themselves in the narrow CoT tunnels and each person was attacking something different....team wipe. Little to no communication about team tactics.
3 times we wiped out.
I spoke up after that... I stuck with this group because I don't like giving up and I made a new friend in the group and she/he didn't leave. ( I did not blame the ones who did leave though and apologized to some who left, for not being able to get the aggro away from them.)
The remaining members listened to an idea of mine and agreed to let me pull using Challenge from the presence power pool (better chance of a single pull, similar to the way Taunt used to be before Issue 3, I think...it's been awhile, can't remember how long ago it was before the changes to Taunt) and lead the minions, then the mages, into the wide, open spaced entry room and to the side, so the mages don't just stand there blasting but actually follow me into melee range around the corners.
With people actually listening, and a VERY good Controller named Andrea Gale who used her powers very well, ( Kudos and congratulations to her/him) we managed to get halfway through this incredibly long dungeon with only four people, including myself. This mission had been set for 7 to 8. We would have been five people but our group leader, without warning or any word, used Stealth and just stood there AFK on two occasions for the majority of the fights. ( I didn't even notice at first, I was busy keeping an eye on any loose mobs that got past me and attacked teamates and then scouting ahead and pulling again as soon as everyone said they were ready.)
We eventually abandoned the mission when I ran out of time ( and another team wipe from a bad pull..my fault. A few purples and Spectral Deamons in a huge mass of minions. It was not pretty and I couldn't see a way of making a safer pull. ) and advised them to leave as well, since it was a mission of the group leader's. He/she was not there half of the time and didn't listen to any group tactics when he/she was participating (running ahead to engage the mob before it followed my character all the way back)
But the remaining group members commented on how well we did with so few people, in a mission meant for 7 to 8. The fact that teamwork and strategy made it possible for us to get so far felt like a victory.
Oddly enough, most of the good PUGs (pick-up groups, for any beginners out there reading this) have been formed by people new to the game. While so many players who have mutiple high-level characters, just rush in with no communication, not waiting until everyone is ready, impatient with pulling and just aggro everything. I understand having a character powerful enough to take out groups but come on...common sense or at least group courtesy please.
Kudos to all you new players who use strategy and your common sense. : )

I just have to say one thing.
The above post is very very long. I didn't even read it.

I liked that story. The tragic heroine, who no one knew saved the city, who is captured for murder (of the real villain) and in time possibly becomes a villainess herself.
Very good. Very sad but very good.

Thanks for posting that. I still forget, even after all this time, how little those last few enhancements affect a character's powers.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input and information, whether they agree with each other or not on the subject matter.
I once played an Anti-Hero who was formerly part of the 5th Column, who still had a "strong-should-rule" mentality. I did it for the challenge of such a dark character. The trouble was people mistook me, the player, as a racist even though my character was not racist. Some people seem to have a hard time seperating real life from the game, I suppose.
If i ever revisit the character (deleted from frustration) I'll keep this post in mind and the excellent informatioin provided by everyone involved.
I'm also curious about the Thuule (spelling?) Society. It was part of my character's background but I'd like to know more about the reality.
Thanks to the OP and everyone involved. Excelent work.

"I...hate...mystical birds that appear in my life..." Spider's eyes looked up at the mysterious yet infinitly annoying raven that appeared and decided to perch on his head.
The top of his head.
Not on his shoulder, like the characters of a fantasy novel.
Not flying around, whispering words of wisdom with dignity.
No...
Spider's "mystical bird" fancied the top of his head, specificly Spider's long, long, braided red hair.
He knew...he JUST knew..that bird was going to poop on his head at any moment.
Growling, snarling but still good hearted enough not to harm the bird, Spider continued to walk along, clenching his fist and gritting his teeth in impotent frustration.
"This is worse than Chinese Water torture." he mumbled.
Despite appearances to the contrary, Spider Shade was considered one of those "Dark" heroes. A past too uncomfortable to fully explain, an older woman he loved, a loss resulting in pain, the innocence in his human eyes turned to literal fires of his now inhuman eyes, from his ordeals in Hell. The literal Hell.
Yet, the Universe has it's sense of humor. Right now, Spider was the focus of a joke. A mystical bird, descended from the feathered wise ones of Merlin...
who really liked to perch on top of Spider Shade's head.
Ears twitched, an overheard monologue.
His curiosity peaked, the young man who escaped from Hell, his skin now blue, his eyes flame and his hair the color of old blood, looked around...curious.
