No, I meant a shivan, as in the temp power that you get from bloody bay. $10 for a permanent power that allows me to summon a shivan (the same kind that you can get in bloody bay) that will actually fight in combat with me.

That is worth 800 points. Not this "non-combat, but can still die" nonsense.
Heh. The way I read it was; that may be your suggestion/idea, but what we'd get instead is what the crazy rabbit said.

But that might just be because I like the crazy rabbit's sense of humor.

  2. The hoarding argument doesn't hold even a drop of sense (never did).

They have since implemented other ways to acquire and hold salvage. Don't like the prices at the market? go to the AE. Heck, an individual toon can now carry more salvage than one salvage rack. But even so, a single toon may not necessarily be able to carry the salvage needed for various crafting purposes.

The point of keeping salvage at the base is to share the salvage amongst several toons/players. This is supposed to be an advantage, a perk, for joining a Supergroup. Sure, we could technically share salvage through global e-mails now, but, besides being very limited, it's a pain in the patootie and becomes very un-fun for the designated mule (especially for a group). The whole reasoning for having larger storage capacity becomes one of convenience and functionality for bases and supergroups.

    Indeed.
You will need to implement this work around at least once every 6 weeks.

    Kill the genie.

Do you belong to a VG? if so, do you have empowerment stations in your base?
There is a slew of hour long (not 15 mins) buffs on those things; some may be slight, but sometimes every little bit counts.
You *should* be able to craft some buffs from them, since they are not technically IO's.
There are 3 optional recipes for each buff, and the recipes are also different between the tech version and arcane version; so there are actually 6 optional recipes for each buff, if you have both styles of the stations.

    .
  5. No, it has not changed.
A Free or Premium account cannot interact with the SG registrar at City Hall. Therefore, they cannot pay rent.
You will need a VIP account holder in your SG to pay the rent, if you want your base to be maintained.

Had not thought about that option before, primarily because I don't actually use my mouse in game much anyway.
But for those that do.... good to know.

  8. My girlfriend mentioned this show to me a few weeks ago. I've been watching it, but I kinda have to agree with the general sentiment. A lot of stuff crammed in, a little haphazardly forced.

It kinda feels like a creepier version of Lost.... which was NOT one of my faves.

huh... this I didn't know. thanks for the heads up.

  11. Make sure you don't have any extra spaces before the name... I've done that before.
... and put something in the message area.... forgot that before, too.

  13. heh... no...

The @ symbol distinguishes it from the toon name

    @ = "global"

Oh, but WOULD you? Surely, you would think to yourself, "Hey look, now I can have even moar salvage stashed away!". And like a little squirrel, you would instead be tempted to make even more bases *just* for the the storage.

I thought it was stated at the last player summit that the Devs don't want the players to make so many bases (the reasoning given for low salvage caps and no offline invites).

Not that I've tested, but this seems to be the most logical answer considering what the others have said so far.

I think there are two thought lines going here....

    1. Regarding the order of beacons in the edit bar
    2. Regarding the order of destinations in the new Hacked porters... in other words, can the order be controlled by beacon placement?

Either way, I'm not really sure of the answer.

    .
  19. First, there are 4 buttons in the edit (item) bar. One of them says "current room".
Use that button to see all the items in the room, and you can select and "sell" (delete) them from the bar.

Second, you can try scrolling your camera out very far, then angling it to see your base from the underside. This will often show things that have accidentally gotten stuck inside the walls.

    Hope that helps.

    yes.
You can start up a brand new base, completely empty, and in all the rooms there will be a low hum. Its the kind of thing that builds up on ones nerves.

  21. All very deserving pieces.

Can't wait to see the next set of submissions for March!

    .
  22. yeah... it's 18 total, mix & match, including the storage vault, no matter the size of your base.

A useful thing, if you want the overall stats of your entire base (not just by room), is to pretend you want to upgrade your plot. You don't actually have to purchase a new plot, but when you go into upgrade plot mode, it will show your overall stats.

You can also use this mode if you want to adjust the way your base grid is set. Just pick the same plot grid that you currently have, and overlay a "new" grid how you want it. You won't actually end up paying for it.

If it's on the "known issues" list, there is hope that it will be fixed.

    cwazy wabbit..

We still have to use the cubicles for affixing wall items anywhere other than a wall.

But the xyz tools are exceptionally useful for moving said cubicles.... so please don't hurt my furniture.
