Tss. How can you have a classical villain without time paradoxes, dimensional twins and temporal twins?
You've ruined the world!!11one!!
*Cough.*
Yeah, I'm good now. -
Tsss. But every RP needs a time paradox! o_o;
Just like how every villain needs to first tell their entire plan for world domination to the hero, before leaving them hanging by a rope above piranhas, not bothering to check back if they're actually dead. -
Oooh. Time paradoxes. Always fun for roleplay plots.
-
Good to see two (or three) people interested.
Of course, I'd never want to quit my main either. It would be more of a weekly thing or something like that.
Get together and RP to have some fun. -

It's easier for me to roleplay a Roharim warrior then a Chinese farmer.

It's easy, pretend your character just found a really good item, and then proceed to pretend you're selling it on ebay. =)
Hmmm. Playing a Rikti would be pretty tricky. -
I know plenty of people who are like that. Most roleplayers I know are female however, and those can usually play either gender. Though the males usually end up overly femine and homosexual. =)
-
Getting a themed group running is pretty hard. =) I'd join, but I wouldn't be able to promise to get on a lot. xD I got my main, and working on a themed RP SG myself.

It´s often the initial damage that kills a dominator in big teams with just one dominator. Carrion Creepers does one lovely thing for a dominator: it draws aggro. If you start it first thing in a big battle it will take the initial damage until you have confused them and held those who got out of the Carrion Creepers area.
If you are fighting on a platform they will extend from the ground level through the platform to reach your foes.
If you finish a fight fast the creepers will follow you into the next fight as well - even if they have to take the elevator to get there

Which might be why most people suggest me to stay back instead of rushing in tossing seeds of confusion and roots everywhere. It takes me 3 seconds to lure enough aggro to keep the brute busy for five minutes trying to get it all back. ^_^;
So carrion to pull some of your insane aggro of you is always nice. -
As long as you can bring it realistically it's fine. =)
After all, that is what roleplaying is about. Playing the role of something besides yourself, and where better to start than your own gender?
Given, I don't really roleplay female characters, but still. I have nothing against males who do, or females with male characters. -
This Drone Disagrees
The drones are just extremely strong for game mechanics, to keep people safe in safe spots. -
I've been wanting to start a roleplay group for a group of science projects. An experiment by Crey / Council / Insert group here to combine human DNA with reptile/tiger/insert whatever animal here DNA.
It'd consist completely out of alt characters, and we'd come together every now and then to roleplay. We'd all be having the same kind of character (reptile for example), but different ATs. I'm aiming to get at least one of each AT and try to even out the genders slightly, simply because all male/female won't make for interesting roleplaying.
Mastermind might be a bit tricky on the roleplay side for an actual AT, but mweh.
I'm going to flesh out the background story and such, but first I want to know how many people would be interested. xD -
Neh, spocky had a way easier approach. Fly around the sun!
-
Yeah, I know what you mean. But as long as you're going to be playing a game that wasn't exactly meant for the RP crowd you'll always have to try and ignore stuff.
Be glad this isn't World of Warcraft, where you get to try playing a Druid who helps cut down a rainforest by aiding orcs, and who corrupts nature for undead. -

Of course, anything you can say against Superman, you can say against Statesman

Note to self: Bring kryptonite the next time you're terrorising Atlas Park. xD
It -is- kind of difficult sometimes to stay in character as a villain, because you can't really pick what mission you do and what mission you don't do, unless you don't mind missing out a lot of exp.
Iguanaja is convinced that technology is evil because it threatens what he calls home (rainforest), and blaims humans for it. Now he sides with people who got flying drones, turn entire isles into factories and other stuff like that.
Just try to ignore it and you'll be fine. -
If a foe dies in the radius of Carrion Creepers a creeper vine will spawn to attack your enemies, and entangle roots will grow near the corpse. My guess it'd be a nice thing to toss in an enormous group of enemies.

Hm. When I was talking about accuracy I pretty much meant magnitude. I hardly ever miss my AoE hold, and I do not have any accuracy slotted in them.
I know the difference in Immobilise / Hold, I just refer to both of them as roots. Mostly aftereffects from playing other MMOs I guess. xD -
Well, root as in...rooting them to the floor.
In CoH/CoV it's called immobilised/hold. About the same thing really. xD
-
Actually, I can notice a big difference between rooting/sleeping/confusing with domination and without.
Just try rooting a boss with domination and without. Chances of him resisting the root are about a dozen times higher normally than when you're using domination. -
Playing a dominator with most of my slots in holds. Therefore I -can- solo bosses and even elite bosses, but it takes half a year, seeing as my endurance will run out in less than a second. Dominators work far better in teams, when they have a decent damage dealer like a corruptor or stalker to strike down their rooted targets.
-
The holds are shorter, but I also have the idea that the holds tend to miss more often. But the CoH beta was a pretty long time ago, so they might have changed something since then about holds and roots.

I wonder how close to a controller's control you could get one if you really tried.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, given that dominators are only 65 % (I believe) as effective as a controller that's the best you're going to get. Even if you skip every attack and get only your primary ones you will still not hold/sleep/etc as well as a controller. Of course, that would open more room for Leadership / Healing power pools, and that can get you a tad more like a controller with their buffs/debuffs. -
So far by watching the Union broadcast, and from my own experience, I've realised that Dominators are having a pretty hard time actually finding teams, and for solo they have a hell of a time. I'm not entirely sure what would keep anybody from teaming with a dominator (lack of damage output?), but I think it is mostly people simply not knowing what a dominator can do.
Because of that I decided to make this topic.
Here you can post your character. This isn't only for dominators to find more solid teammates, but also for others who want to find a dominator to team with. (They're pretty rare after all.)
To keep it nice and organized, post in the following format:
Dominator / Will Team With Dominator
Name:
AT:
Primary:
Secondary:
Level Range:
Other Comments:
To show this, I'll post my own dominator here.
Dominator
Name: Iguanaja
AT: Mutation Dominator
Primary: Plant
Secondary: Thorns
Level Range: 2X
Other Comments: I'll gladly lacky you if you're too low, and I don't mind being raised to a higher level either. If you get tired of me jumping around all the time just tell me to stay in one place. :P
Now, this whole topic might not seem like a lot of use, but if enough people post their dominator / looking for dominator here you can add a pretty impressive friend list, and dominators will recieve a little more love.
