  1. I now understand your reasoning... although I would still go for a build that stands alone I will give you props for a ingenuitive way to get a lil more out of your build. I never thought about dual boxing that way with vengence. Kudos!

  3. I was looking on the main COH pages for the dates of the Halloween event and the Winter event and they are still showing last years stuff up there. Does anybody have any idea when those start yet?
  4. I'm just coming back to my tank and in playing around with the build this is what I came up with. He's gonna be a farmer moslty but I will use him for some teaming and TF's.

    What do you think? Can I do better?

    I was thinking the same thing! Vengence? Smoke? Rise of the Phoenix? Okay... I'll give you smoke for whatever reason you want it but what good are the other 2? 1 is only good when a teammate dies and the other is only good when YOU die. The idea was to live, survive... anything but die.

    You realize that with set bonuses you have over 50% accuracy bonus so why use a kismet +6% accuracy? There are more things wrong with that build then there are right.

    I have no room to talk cuz my build I'm sure won't win me any pats on the back but at least it is what it is on its own when solo or teamed.
  6. I used to be able to slot the taunt IO sets in vincibility but now mids shows them as invalid. So are they still able to be slotted?

  9. Dropped an email to you with a small sample chat log. Only like 4 Battle Maiden runs. I'll have more time to play Sunday so I should be able to get in 20-30 runs or more for ya.
  10. My runs were all set solo +0 fighting as 8 man team fighting bosses with no AV's on the non AV Battle Maiden map. Counting my unrecorded runs.... I averaged 387 kills per map. I ran 35 total runs and no purples. I would say the drop counts were very close to what I posted earlier but 4 times as many. The only annomaly would be NO purples.

    I seem to remember a post by a dev a looooong time ago that stated that you got x chance for drop from minions and then a higher chance for drop by lt's and so on with bosses and AV's. Is this still true or has it changed over the years?
  11. I have the evening off tonight. I'll download and set up drop stats and help out with the log files if I can figure out how to get that working correctly. I just cant remember it ever taking me 6000 kills or more and still no decent recipe drops let alone no purples.

    That 6000 is from the 1st and 2nd... farming Battle Maiden. I believe that is after the new patch went live.

  13. I added power sink and deleted conductive shield. Added more defense by taking flurry and slotting it with 4 kinetic combat. I don't see the benefit of slotting power sink with 6 slots of eff adapt since it can only use end mod and rech really so I only 4 slotted it and saved the 2 extra slots for other powers.
  14. As for concept my toons name is Voltaic Conduit... he looks like dr manhattan from watchmen. I wasn't really looking at taking an epic. I have my farmers so this toon is gonna be used for teaming and just playing the game. Money isn't much of a consideration so anything is fine. I'll post the one build I kinda played with on MIDS.     I don't think anyone caught this from his post but it sounds lik the OP has a level 50 fire/regen and wants a build. From the wording it sounds like an obvious PL case to me.

    When you say "virtual" what do you mean?

    I assume virtual means the new diff slider. running 2 men in a mission set for 8 man.

    I'm talkin about the difference between that and the old way of having 2 real players in mission and 6 fills, running the map to lock in spawns then booting the rest of the team after.

    I beg to differ.... I have seen threads here in the forums talking about there being a bonus to xp and influence based on team size. I can't say for sure that I got x number more drops when filling out a team of 8 vs just running the mission with 2 set at 8 but during the 20 or so runs each way I did see a large difference in drops when using fills.

    On average I got 3 more recipes per run, per person (always 2 players in mission) when using fills. Not convincing enough really and no where near enough data to be certain but it should raise some eyebrows at least.

    I'm just hoping someone is testing the theory that knows far more about how to run the #'s than I do.
  19. I was wondering about this today. Has anyone actually tested this on a large scale since i16 went live?

    I did a lil testing on the test server before i16 went live and recorded a large difference in drops, xp and influence when just having 2 people in mission set for 8 man team vs a 2 man team where the mission was mapped with 8 men using 6 fills then dropping the extra players after mapping was completed.

    Just wanted to know if someone far more knowledgable had been running #'s on this?
  20. I get the same problems... I delete and re-install, download for hours, get online for a bit, log out for some rest then log back in only to get the same error. Done this several times and it's getting annoying.

    I hear what you're saying. I personally have 2 seperate builds. 1 for teaming which is more control oriented and 1 for farming. I actually helped DMP (the OP... my brother) test out his build and I was pretty impressed with the build he posted. I run a ton of farms and honestly that build does sacrifice a bit but I can run mine @ +4 solo with no problems.

    The reason for not taking /stone would be resist. With defense you dont get hit as often but when you do get hit it hurts far more than if you have higher resists... That's why he tried to make a balance, higher defense than most but still having the high resist of fire.

    Not sure what Epsilon is fighting but on Battle Maiden I have no problems taking the alpha from a +4 mob but I'm also over 1350HP with all my accolades and bonuses. Maybe he's fighting something else... i'm not sure there. As far as Donna talking about why not take /stone if you're so in love with defense... the OP stated thematic reasons.

    Also... on a more personal note... What is up with all the people talking about slotting out FS with 2 and 3 recharge and accuracy? With set bonuses you have enough accuracy to barely worry about slotting any. I still do at least a lil just in case. And do most people not understand how the damage cap works? With 2 instnaces of Fulcrum Shift and Siphon Power you are soooooo far over the cap that it makes it a waste to add any recharge into it especially with all the global recharge and Siphon Speed double stacked.

  23. No offense... If you look at what is slotted in all those "dumb" powers I was taking them for the defense. I am almost soft capped on defense and still have the benefit of almost soft capped resist. As for donna saying I need to have perma FS. It comes up every 23 secs which means I can have 2 instances stacked as well as 2 of siphon power which means I'm well beyond the damage cap. Donna... did you even truly look at the build? I never even took spped boost and why would i want KB resist for my imps when the vills I fight dont have hardly any KB. Freaks have some and so does BM but I rarely see my imps go flying anyway. I did slot fire cages with enf opp for the defense bonus. more defense = more survivable. Why do you think so many people are so high on /stone... defense cap.

    My resoning for the defense is easy. Fighting +4 mobs I'll have to spam my heal faster than my attacks since I'll be getting hit left and right. This is more survivable without losing any damage.
