think i remember reading suggested slotting is 3 hold 3 recharge for hami. i could very well be wrong!
[/ QUOTE ]
It makes sense though - can't have too much duration or recharge for stacking, while acc and end could be taken care of by team buffs. -

Jeez, that yellow guy is almost worse than you and Drone. Good to see you're blending in with the natives.. -
This is getting scarier and scarier. I think Gaia is right about inherent Terrify.

They were actually from nofuture's power list, which aspires to be a database of freshly tested damage scales. I just started to wonder about the scale used because Ice Bolt or BI 2.7778 is normally 1 on damage scale. But those numbers are normalized damage scales and have the dominator melee/ranged modifiers already factored in. So it's all correct after all. They match the numbers I got when I tested them earlier this year, except that Ice Sword is on a better damage modifier now.
Not sure what you mean with the second paragraph, really. Bridger posted a list of dominator attacks that are considered melee around when Issue 7 was on test. Some of the others were a bit surprising but Icy Assault is really pretty clearcut. -

oh and just remembered as u are going human/nova i remember reading somewhere that slotting nova form 2 end mods and 1 end red is optimal although i could be wrong....
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh! Never thought of it but that makes sense, actually. Will have to investigate
As for shields, I'd put one endred in each and the extra endurance reductions in attacks instead. -
Me neither. Mr Cuddles has been awfully silent, so if he can't make it today I might still try to put a team together for this. After all it's only 1.5 hours commitment
-
It looks eerily much like mine (now at level 27). I think the only difference is I have Hurdle instead of Swift, and haven't decided on epic.
-
Erm, well.. it's a heal that increases your max hitpoints. What's not to like?
I'm sure you could manage without it, just don't really understand why you'd want to. -
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could take a non-boss firebase solo, with some inspirations (reds, oranges and greens, as I don't have Aid Self)
-
Filth, I'm not sure where you took your numbers but Ice Blast is nowhere near that good (and PRAF skipped it, which may be his problem in Bloody Bay). If he tries using Ice Sword Circle on turrets he may indeed going to run fast out of endurance, and using just Sword and Bolt he might not be fast enough. Using Ice Bolt, Ice Blast and Ice Sword, I definitely don't run out of endurance but I have an endurance reduction slotted in each.
Ice Blast has DS 0.86 ( Ice Bolt is 0.65, Ice Sword is 1.23 and, for comparison, Impale is 1.18).
EDIT:
Actually, looking at it again, those damage scales must be wrong. However Ice Sword does more damage than Ice Blast at all points of the game, and did so even before the melee damage boost. -
What do you expect, he's a h34l0rz without a heal...
Oh, and we're about level 12 now -
Regarding the firebase, I haven't tried it solo but when I've duo it with a stalker we always take all the turrets to very low health first and then take out last slivers of health as fast as we can. Did you do that?
-
Personally, not sure it deserves a drumroll...

The Ice blasts, especially Ice Bolt and Ice Blast are a bit of a double-edged sword. Due to quick recharge, really fast animation and good range they're great for building Domination fast. However they're very bad damage for endurance (although not as bad as Chilblain).
I would personally never get rid of my Ice Blast and feel that the AoEs are much more expendable (although Ice Sword Circle is lovely now that the delay after animation has been removed). That's because in competent teams Domination buildup becomes a problem as mobs are wiped out quickly and running after them to hit with a melee attack takes time. So basically, I use BIB and the melee attacks to do serious damage and the two smaller blasts to build Domination with a side effect of some decent damage.
This is kind of a moot point though. Ice takes long to get an attack chain so getting all the attacks at low level is a good idea. Later on you can respec out of the ones you like less. But using Chilblain as a damage power and spamming it is a surefire way to kill your already ailing endurance. As a control power it's situationally quite nice at the default slotting. -
But surely the purpose of lovely summer nights is to stay up and play video games?
-
Ice Blast. Chilblain is useful against AVs and in PvP but as a damage power it's very costly. Ice Blast does a lot more damage at a lesser endurance cost.
-
How did I miss no essence boost? Definitely take it and it's worth a lot of slots
I tend to agree about Nova actually. The reason I use it a lot when solo is that I have it and it's well slotted. The AoEs are huge, normally unnecessarily huge for solo missions. Skipping Nova would let you concentrate slots on human and dwarf attacks. -

I never managed to chain hold Hero Sea Witch, but I chain held AV Jonny Sonata. I think the devs may have forgotten to give him purple triangle power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah, I remember reading someone else did, too.
Must have gotten lucky with Sea Witch. Anyone know if there's a pattern to how the purple triangles go up and down? It seems pretty random to me. -
You might not have heard of ED. It's a change to enhancements that was done in Issue 6 and means roughly that slotting more than 3 of the same type of SO enhancement in a power is a complete waste. So take some of those slots off Stamina and the shields.
ED is not too bad for triform Kheldians because generally it's hard to find enough slots to 6-slot much anyway. If you're taking Nova, for example, you really should at least devote some slots to the Nova AoEs. Solar Flare and the self heal need some slots too, as do Dwarf powers. Quantum flight on the other hand is fine with the default slot. It's a great panic button but you can't run it for extended periods, no matter what you do.
I'd consider picking up Hasten as your optional power to save on some recharge slots. -
Mag 24 is normally not enough to hold an AV when the purple triangles are up. IIRC there was a dev post on US forums stating that the mez protection it gives is around 50, but with modifiers for different archvillains. However I can't find the post now.
My plant dominator did once hold a Hero version of Sea Witch for the entire duration of the fight, but I suspect she's weak to mez.
-
I soloed through early levels, now I only do it very occasionally. Quantums and especially voids are a complication, and especially early on it hurts that they increase spawn sizes too. Other than that, I think a peacebringer soloes pretty well due to the abundance of different tools available. I use all the forms when soloing but that's probably because my build is very blasty with a lot of slots devoted to Nova.
-
Your experience wildly varies from mine, and everyone else's I've read about. Unless Singularity is extremely good at holding, I think you must have been very lucky to hold through the purple triangles that well. It sometimes happens that I can keep an AV or EB with triangles held for a majority of the fight but it's more an exception than a rule. Regular elite bosses on the other hand tend to be pushovers for my dominators.
-
Yes, the problem with out last attempt was that I think we were all level 38 or exemped to level 38, and the Rikti were level 42 and mainly bosses. We simply couldn't damage them fast enough so we ran out of time and had to unexemp the 50s in the end to give the high level badgehunters something for their time. I'm holding a grudge for that and want to get a revenge on the Hydra.
-
I've been snooping around a bit in the mission (it's nice that way, I can take it anytime even solo and go have a look). It's all level 42 Rikti when I'm set on Heroic. Should be easy if the majority of the team is 40 or above.
The stealthing weapons option is pretty much out now with the suppression but I always thought it was a waste because of all the Drone-induced deaths, and would much rather just storm through it. -
I'd be up for it on Thursday with my level 40 peacebringer, and like I said I have done the 150 Rikti hunt, so that would save us some time.
Only thing is I want to do it for real, with no unexemped level 50s to make it trivial
