Did you get a team together for this? I've been meaning to get around to it for ages with my peacebringer but CoV is distracting me from it. Got the hunt done and all.

I'd be up for it on Thursday with my level 40 peacebringer, and like I said I have done the 150 Rikti hunt, so that would save us some time. 
Only thing is I want to do it for real, with no unexemped level 50s to make it trivial
me too. So many people have been telling me that it's too hard to do without level 50's
That's rubbish in my opinion. People just get used to the stupidly easy missions then give up when they meet a challenge.

I've been snooping around a bit in the mission (it's nice that way, I can take it anytime even solo and go have a look). It's all level 42 Rikti when I'm set on Heroic. Should be easy if the majority of the team is 40 or above.
The stealthing weapons option is pretty much out now with the suppression but I always thought it was a waste because of all the Drone-induced deaths, and would much rather just storm through it.
well if a SK spot is available, count Lady Earth (lvl 36 earth/storm troller) in. Oh and it indeed is rubbish that you need 50s exemped to do it, with good organization its possible to do it the normal one, you just need people not goofing off. The best attempt I ever done was on my WS in a team of 38-40. We done it with only 1 death and I think 15-20 minutes to spare. Also half of the team hadnt done it before, and the ones that did do it before hadnt succeeded yet once.

I've done it twice. The last time I did it, the only way we succeeded was by unexemping the level 50s and sidekicking to them, although I was 38 at the time so fighting level 42 rikti was way too hard. I think we were all a little too low level though.
The first time I did it, I think it might have been with your Warshade Nefarious. It was I5 and I was my Inv/Fire tank Golden Golem and I was happily taking out spawns of force field generator guards by myself. I must have been level 41 or 42 because I remember being a bit unimpressed by the enhancement I got.
Organisation is definitely the key to this trial.

Yes, the problem with out last attempt was that I think we were all level 38 or exemped to level 38, and the Rikti were level 42 and mainly bosses. We simply couldn't damage them fast enough so we ran out of time and had to unexemp the 50s in the end to give the high level badgehunters something for their time. I'm holding a grudge for that and want to get a revenge on the Hydra.
Let me know if this is on please, I could do with it on my lvl 50 ill/rad controller. I'm contactable @illum

i'm trying to get ppl there for friday, cos thursday is a bit awkward, ill see how it goes..
basic tact is get inside, if you can invis ppl to guns and tp them back then thats nice cos it saves time, but if not a stick together and fight our way down is good. At bottom its a kill all first, you dont have to run into the tentacles and be hit by hydras psionic attacks itself, you could after all the other rikti are gone, block yourself to all including hydra and taunt 5 at a time and have blasters blasting tankers target with them blocked to all but the tanks targets too. Once tentacles are done everyone gets generaters to last bit of health. Then altogether drop generators, tank taunts hydra first with a defender backing him up and then everyone starts attacking hydra with their guns, i dont suggest the defender also attacking on this, tank can taunt shoot taunt shoot. If shields come up again then kill rikti and repeat. So easy.
Anyway ill be bringing my mind controller with mass confusion.

right theres a quick update.
I attempted it last night with a few mates who were all level 38 just to see what it was all about because I've heard different stories from different sources.
7 man team all level 38
inv/ice tanker
grav/storm troller
storm/elec defender
empathy/psi defender
forcefield/rad defender
dark/dark scrapper
fire/elec blaster
fighting our way through the sewers was a great laugh, then we got to the mission and again, the level 42 rikti boss spawns were not a problem, they just took a while to take down but we were fairly safe.
Then we got to the bottom, managed to clear out all the rikti pretty much but there were two spawned krakens amongst the tentacles and as hard as we tried we just could not get a hatched kraken down below 3/4's health so we decided a change of tactics
the tank and defenders drew the kraken away while those with thermite cannons attacked the tentacles. We managed to kill a fair few tentacles without drawing any aggro from the head until suddenly WHAM! psychic tornado murdered our faces off.
So we tried again to kill one of the hatched krakens because we figured we need everybody together to kill the tentacles but we just couldnt get him below 3/4s health at all.
So after a brief discussion we all decided we would wait until we were at least level 41 before trying this trial again! Everybody suicided by charging the hydra head (and some even got the badge as a result of this which makes me think it must be a locational "plaque" type badge rather than awarded for killing the hydra) and went to hospital in skyway city where we did a mission to clear off the debt!
So we were only scuppered by the krakens really and if they didnt spawn right on top of the tentacles we might have been ok.
So the plan is... We are waiting until we are level 41 then I'll be posting a thread to see if people are interested
I have to say though, for all the moaning I do on these forums, the devs have really done well with this sewer trial because even though ultimately we failed, it was still probably the most fun I've ever had playing this game.

I think your meant to save the cannons for hydra.

This is where a tanker can stand only exposing himself to a few tentacles at a time using the rocks, autotaunt the targets and allow blasters to happily open fire.

absolute pain in the butt at lvl 38 i know cos i was 38 on my first try and we ran out of time with the amount of damage needed to be done.

lol plaque, its an exploration badge like the one on top of the globe in atlas.
All people being there for Friday at 8pm in FF (i should have 8) this will be my 6th time, with 4 toons having done it, last time we done it we had a map crash where we all got kicked 15 minutes in and had less time to do it in thru restarting.

I heard it was the particle weapons for the head (whichever is single target) and the cone attack for the tentacles, although I found the tentacles were fairly easy to kill even without the gun.

indeed you only need the particle beam cannon (or whatever its called) for the head, thermites CAN be used for tentacles, but any attack will slaughter the tentacles really.
Trick normally is:
1) get weapons
2) clear the 4 shield generators of rikti + kraken, while standin behind the rocks so the head/tentacles doesnt see you
3) clear tentacles
4) clear all the generators AT THE SAME TIME
5) use particle cannons on head while fending off rikti ambushes
6) repeat from 4
7) oooooooh, shiny badge!
