8:30, still not that late :P
[/ QUOTE ]It is when you have to wake up for school the next morning

Surely you can sleep in class, MaX? -

I can solo mine but it's definitely not among the easiest solo toons I have.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess its what you class as "easy to solo". Does that mean fastest, safest, most damaging?
[/ QUOTE ]
For me it's a balance between safety and damage. Able to do missions on highest or second highest difficulty setting comfortably, with reasonable pace and little to no faceplants. Does not need to stock up on inspirations for normal solo missions. Scrappers are a prime example of easy to solo.
Fire/Kin is IMO too much of a glass cannon for this. It can be extremely effective but requires some concentration and skill and if you're out of breakfrees and get mezzed you're pretty much screwed. I'm sure a fire/kin who has good luck and a skilled player behind keyboard can zip through a mission faster than a brute, however faster doesn't mean more easily. -
Well, date permitting I'd love to come.. I've been thinking about deleting my brute and making a new one for a while now.

well, monday was a win, with the late substitue Arachnos Girl providing bubbles. 2 hrs 40. pleasent =)

I'm really sorry I couldn't make it, hope you didn't have hard time finding a substitute. Could you possibly fit me into one of the weekend runs instead? -
Huge congratulations! I'm glad you got into the happy-go-lucky world of regen scrappers again - and besides, it's only proper to have your signature toon at 50

I think a solo /kin would be best off taking a mez-heavy primary (but probably not energy). My fire/kin doesn't really solo well, but then I think it would be almost unfair if it did.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really?
My Fire/Kin is the best soloing toon I have, heck I know someone who says their fire/kin corr is better than their brute soloing, and I've seen them play both.
Fire/Kin is is a great combo, for solo or team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Different strokes, I guess. I can solo mine but it's definitely not among the easiest solo toons I have. I find that not having any kind of mez power leaves me very vulnerable to getting mezzed, especially as I have to be near melee range for Transfusion, Transference and Fulcrum Shift. The damage is great, though. -
There's a slight chance I might not make it tonight. If I'm not around in good time, feel free to fill my spot. I hope I can make it though.

Don't Plant Dominators get like Perma Mass Confusion at lv8? Maybe the devs could really look at the recharge of this power. Would it really be that overpowered with a base recharge of 60 secs? I might actually get it then.
[/ QUOTE ]The thing is, mass confuse is longer range, higher target limit, longer duration(?) and doesn't cause aggro, unlike seeds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Take Seeds of Confusion from Plant and you have a gimped set.
Take any power from Mind and the set is still pretty good. -
[ QUOTE ]
However, as MC being a level 32 Power I think on its own it could really need some love. i do not think as a stand alone its on paar with Imps or many others 32 powers. Especially the recharge could be lots better (or even just a bit) without overpowering MC.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whether or not MC is as good as a pet, I think it's pointless to make comparisons with standalone powers. To get the Fire Imps, you'd have to give up Terrify, Mass Hypnosis, Confuse and Mesmerize for Bonfire, Hot Feet, Smoke and Ring of Fire...
Mind is like a toybox, full of cool powers. -
I have it on my ice/ice dominator and I'm impressed by it. The resistance value is pretty good and smashing/lethal/energy is a nice combination - probably the most common damage types in game.
-
Can I come on Monday with my lvl50 ice/ice dominator?
-
I'd take Power Sink just for the Nuke + CaB + Power Sink combo. The nuke goes from situational to awesome, must use whenever it's up for any spawn larger than 5.
Maybe it's different for Blizzard though. I'm addicted to the way Thunderous Blast makes them twitch. -
My elec/elec runs without Stamina now too, I have no trouble at all except in AV fights where I need to use cabs and be a little careful with my end. Power Sink is not that great against single targets. Also sometimes I get carried away and forget to use PS so I run out of end...
Might respec it back at some point tho, I miss hurdle and health and don't much like Thunder Strike so only need to get rid of one more power to fit them in since I got a free power choice left. -
It's a 20 second buff for fire attacks and a 10second buff for others. So no not pointless
-
Not that I have much experience of PvP with my elec/elec but I don't think I'd bother with Power Sink for PvP if it was the only drain power I had. You could only get a full drain if the person was quite low on end to begin with. It doesn't do -recovery either.
That said, I get that you can play an Ice/Elec to 50 without Power Sink but why would you want to? -
2/2/2 slotting in Seeds works best for me, although my Plant dom always plays in the same team and has a bit specialized power choices and slotting because of that. However I tried 2/1/3 and found the duration too short on occasion, so I'd at least put one confdur there. The third recharge shaves 2-4 seconds off the recharge depending on if you have Hasten, IMO it's not worth it.

I think it might be the only controller/dominator pet that does AoE damage. That's something it has over others, at least.
-
Hmm. I could have sworn it was AoE... at least it seems to cast them in a very quick succession. I'll keep an eye on it next time I play my Plant.
-
Meh, I prefer Jack Frost to Fly Trap. Uncontrollable AoE immob is just really inconvenient, even when not counting the -knockdown. Do plant immobs even have -knockdown? At least Jack rarely does anything actively harmful.
It's hard to get a clear picture of the damage Fly Trap does but I have a feeling it's less than Jack does in melee. It has the same kind of melee/range distinction but I can't really tell which mode is better.
On a plus side, it looks incredibly freakish and shrieks, which is why I will never respec it out. Also it's pretty good at grabbing aggro, what with the AoE immobs at range.. -
I wrote an ice/ice power pick guide that has power descriptions. It's in the guides section somewhere a few pages in.
It's a very nice set with quick activation times and a great secondary effect, downsides are that it's heavy on endurance and a little low on ST damage until the 30s. At high level it's very good damage. -
My peacebringer is has no shields or Fitness and has devoted a lot of slots to Nova. I tend to AoE a lot and change between human and Nova, sometimes several times in a fight.
I only really use Dwarf if I get in trouble or there's no tanker on the team. The Dwarf is quite defensively slotted and does very little damage. -
No oomph? I think elec secondary is the best, at least almost. It's the height of cool.
Charged Brawl, Havoc Punch, Thunder Strike, Shocking Grasp, POWER SINK.
IMO /nrg is the only secondary that compares. -
I think a solo /kin would be best off taking a mez-heavy primary (but probably not energy). My fire/kin doesn't really solo well, but then I think it would be almost unfair if it did.

Excellent! Level 12 is low enough that we can catch up pretty fast.
Are you thinking of RSF there? My highest level is Jadis, Ice/Ice/Mu lvl 50 on Union.
Control powers: ST hold, ST immob, Ice Slick, AoE hold, Arctic Air (pbAoE slow/fear/confuse aura), Shiver (cone slow)
Don't have: AoE sleep, AoE immob
