Speaking of, I actually just made a dark/sr scrapper called Incredible Nemi
Nemi rocks.
Hmm, the quote.. I know I've hear it somewhere .. Princess Bride? It sounds like something they'd say in it -
Hee, good thinking Gilliam!
This will be great fun so come on people, join us! Mouth waters thinking about all those delicious Freaks.. -
Hey, fun to see GBH getting its own thread! I was a member for a while but left because it was always so quiet. I was dreaming about all scrapper teams..
But I could make a new scrapper and join, because what's cooler than a scrapper? That's right, NOTHING!In fact, anyone else up for rolling new scrappers and scrapping our way through Hollows together?
-
It's double magnitude, and I think 75% duration increase. Or maybe 50%. It doesn't hold an elite boss with one application, I think they have Mag 6 resists. Either way, it's pretty amazing 90 seconds
-
Um, you can't mass drain anything in one go on live now.
It was never that über and it's certainly not über now. Even before ED you could only fully drain even levels with one application, you needed another application or some other drain power for anything higher. And it could still miss because you needed to 6-slot with endurance drain so no accuracies. I don't know if that was too good, I didn't think so but ED nerfed it so it's gone anyway. I just don't think further nerfs are needed.
Getting into melee is a hell of a risk for a blaster. It takes over 5 seconds in the middle of a spawn to execute a Short Circuit+Power Sink combo. If that won't even fully drain them, I don't see how the reward is worth the risk. The only time I could see myself doing that was if there was a tanker holding aggro, and in that case I might as well just blast. -
Er.. not kidding. If this change goes through as it is, it will be very hard to ever drain a boss unless there are several drainers on the team or the fight takes forever, at least if you don't have /elec or /nrg secondary. Most probably you'd be better off just concentrating on killing the boss, whatever the secondary.
Lightning Bolt? Don't make me laugh. The drain there is negligible, hardly enough to keep up with their endurance regen. TB drains ok, true, but it's pretty situational considering the recharge.
However it might not be as bad as it looks because Castle has already promised that they will look into it so that endurance drain will still be viable after the change. Looks like not even the devs thought 3 applications of Short Circuit for an evel level boss is reasonable. -
Not sure about my weekend yet but I'd like to come with Idris if I'm home
-
I'd like to bring my PB if she's high enough by then. If not I might take my lvl14 ill/kin instead.
-
Hee, the lenghts you go to.. Can't decide if it's cool or a bit scary
Too bad Arctic Air is not a proper confuse, would have enjoyed making you kill your own -
It's close to but less than Ball Lightning, and Ball Lightning is not that great either. But at least Ball Lightning is not pbAoE with 3 seconds activation time.
I think it could work slightly better for a kinetics defender, but the middle of a crowd big enough to AoE is not a good place for a blaster if the end result is poor-moderate DoT and some but not full endurance drain. Our drain was less than defenders' to begin with but with Short Circuit and Power Sink combo I could still 2-shot drain most things. Now it'll be just minions, and draining minions was never that useful anyway because their attacks don't use that much end. Not to mention that they get at least one attack off in the time it takes me to activate the two powers.
I like the nuke, the snipe and the hold a lot but even those are pretty standard. I think upping the damage of a few powers and/or doing something to Short Circuit could help a lot. -
I feel your pain, I really do. Electrical blast is definitely due a boost, which it won't be getting since it just got one.
Which was nice and all, but did nothing to compensate for what ED did and this will do to endurance drain. They should at least replace Short Circuit with a proper AoE damage power or buff the endurance drain in it. Risk vs reward with that power is getting ridiculous.

I just dusted off my lvl35 elec/elec blaster that has been on the shelf since before I6. Played around with it a bit, actually had fun. (Huge thanks to my teammates for keeping me alive when I had no clue what I was doing!
) Started thinking about what to change, decided to leave Short Circuit 6-slotted, only switch 3 of the endmods into damage for a little AoE damage boost. And then I happen to glance at the US blaster forums and see this:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...part=1#4814014
WHAT?! I was a bit on the fence on if the endurance drain was worth slotting for anymore, guess I'm now safely on the "not worth it" side. At least when it comes to Short Circuit. What am I supposed to use this power for? A PBAoE with 3 seconds activation time and 2,8 BI that, when 3-slotted with endmods, drains one third of endurance of an evel level boss? Hello, Death!
So the question is, if I leave out Short Circuit, how should I slot Power Sink? Do you guys think endurance modifications make any sense or should I just slot 3 recharge? Or do I even need the extra recharges when I have Stamina, so I'd probably mostly need it after nuking. I will need the slots to max out my holds since I guess that's the only form of damage mitigation I'll have from now on. -
Great, lots of new pawns^B^B^B^B^B er, FRIENDS for my evil ice queen. She will be pleased.
I'll add y'all to my friends list (well the ones that aren't already) and give you a shout when I'm on with the dom. Oh, and she's called Jadis and is Ice/Ice, Red Fire, so I figure we'll mesh well. Lots of slows, anyway
-
Excellent! I'm going to be online today and tomorrow with no specific plans so if you're around just give me a shout on global and we'll sort something out

Anyone have a villain around lvl 32-36 that would like to make a date and team up with my dominator sometime? She's lvl34 now and I want to get her up to 40 before I7 hits, but after some depressing experiences in PUGs lately I'm feeling a bit discouraged. My SG has gone quiet and it just generally seems hard to find nice, relaxed and somewhat literate people to team with on the villain side. Soloing is boring with her as there are too few things to dominate so that's just not an option.

Yay, I definitely want to be there!

I definitely feel 2 recharges are worth it for SD and GD
[/ QUOTE ]
I have one in my main attacks and I use the following attack chain:
GD-DA-SD-SotW-DA-repeat
There's no gap that's worth bothering with. I will swap Lotus Drops for Sting if Lotus Drops is up and I have multiple targets. The repeat rate on DA is enough to get overlap, so you can expect pretty good +Def.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure that works well and I use similar chains a lot of the time, however I prefer to have the options to leave DA out entirely in certain situations and alternate it with only the two highest-damaging single target attacks in others. That way I can keep it stacked at least once all the time while still doing significant damage and keeping the boss constantly on his back if I'm lucky enough with knockdown.
I don't think it's needed at all but I've found it useful, and in my late 30s I started to have plenty of slots to play around with anyway.
I don't keep a recharge in SotW, on the other hand. I feel it recharges quickly enough anyway, but then I also have Flashing Steel so that's quite a few attacks to build different continuous chains.
FireKitty already answered about MoG and I'm not an expert on the subject of defense so I'll leave it at that. Who knows how the defense changes are really going to work out yet, anyway -
Hi again! I quite like your new build, just a few comments:
I agree with RW about swapping Dull Pain and Build Up. Build up is really nice but not as big a deal for a Regen scrapper as, say, to a blaster, because we're built for longevity rather than burst damage.
I think you should add at least one more recharge to Reconstruction, and slot it earlier. You will be using it a lot. I'm still not convinced that even the 3rd recharge is not worth it.
Regarding the attacks, I definitely feel 2 recharges are worth it for SD and GD and TLD if you like to AoE a lot. For the rest it's just an overkill and you end up powers recharging a lot sooner than you ever want to use them. I've never seen anyone slot for defense debuff but it might be worth investigating if you really want to 6-slot. Maybe. I suspect the effect won't be very noticeable.
With 2 recharge in GD and SD and 1 recharge in DA you can have a boss/AV-killing chain of GD-DA-SD-DA-GD and get kickass defense with very decent damage. On the other hand, in those situations where your regen is enough, you can just forget about DA and have a high damage constant attack chain with all the other attacks
You will probably want a 3rd endred in Focused Accuracy if you end up with Tough. Personally, I'm even considering a 3rd endred for Tough too, but that's because I've been building my toon around not having to look at the blue bar, ever
Slots in Resilience don't give that much return for the investment so yeah, skimp there is you need the slots elsewhere. Maybe slot Health earlier or something.
Edit:
I forgot to say, regarding MoG the slotting depends a lot on how much you end up liking it. I don't have any recharges there and it's up more often than I need it, but I only use it in dire situations because I feel it messes up my pace. However I've seen other regens use it a lot more than I do, to great effect. In I7 it might not be worth it to slot for defense anymore. -
I'm up for any of those except Numina. Even Positron
-
I think confuse durations make the most difference in AA. I don't like slotting for slow much because it only affects running speed, not -recharge. And you can't slot it for fear, that's some kind of bug in the planner I think. I have 2 confuses in mine now and I'm definitely seeing more shooting each other
-
This was great fun! Thanks for thinking up and organizing it Double

They really hate MoG on US forums. It's funny how a few loud and convincing posters can change the opinion of masses. I'm not saying the arguments there aren't correct because they are, but experience says MoG works - provided you know your enemies or it's a "gonna die anyway" situation. It's kind of fun in that it turns you into a completely different kind of toon. I will reserve judgement to see if it's still at all worth it after i7.
I've had it, respecced it out and now I have it again. It's been useful for those AVs with hard-hitting PBAoEs, like Infernal or Siege, or just tanking most AVs in general. Don't really feel I need it for Malta, I think I've been sapped dry once in my life.
