I don't have too much endurance problems on my ice/ice anymore, really. It's endurance heavy but manageable now that accuracy is a lot better and controls last longer. I would have needed an endurance recovery power 20 levels ago, now not so much. I think I'm probably gonna go with the water themed one because at least water is melting ice. Just hoping the armor won't look too much like a fish

I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Like Filth, I was hoping for some kind of mez protection in one of the sets. I was also hoping that we'd get more buff/debuff powers since controllers can do such good damage with epics and containment. Another pet is something I decidedly did NOT want. To be honest I wish we didn't have a pet at all and had better base damage instead.
It also annoys me that all the powers sound very visually overpowering, and nothing will exactly go conceptually together with Ice. I guess it makes sense because the powers are from the patron, but I just can't bring myself to like the idea of my Ice dominator regurgitating stomach acid. -
Is the Brute taunt single target or like the tanker taunt?
I'm thinking of skipping Taunt as well on my EM/Fire, because I do have the damage aura and am a bit short of power choices. Besides, it's primarily a solo build because this is easily the most fun I've ever had soloing with any toon, including my regen scrapper. Still feeling a pang, though, because I'd like it to be a good all around build but there are just so many powers to get. -
Bind seems to have very loose syntax so that it can interpret the same command in several different ways.
For example, I have a bind "/bind lshift+lbutton "powexec_name teleport" and it works in practice but gives an error whenever I hit lshift by itself, because then it interprets lbutton as the start of actual command . It annoys me but I haven't figured out if there's a completely correct way to put it. -
Hmm, must be something else then. I did think it would have been a bit too obvious
It definitely works with the space too, though. I find the syntax used in binds a bit muddy sometimes -
Obviously the best inherent in game!
-
Erm, does it work if you write it fulcrum_shift? I'd say /bind f "powexec_name fulcrum shift" but I never tried it your way. Never had Fulcrum Shift yet, though, so I don't know if it's a power specific problem.

I for one was glad to get a proper travel power at 14 for both my controller and corruptor. My problem with Siphon Speed was that it would miss at worst moments and then you ended up slow AND with a spawn of angry mobs after your tail.
It's ok as long as you're in a zone where you can take a few hits without ending up in hospital. Above that you might be better off just sprinting hollows-style -
Most doms don't have aggro free opening moves. Have you seen how squishy doms are and how much aggro they get? Expecting a dom to open with an AoE control is in most situations VERY unreasonable.
-
Yep, I have actually tried Lightning Clap. I tried several different builds on test before ending up with the one I have now. The knockback annoyed me a bit but it still seemed like a useful power and it was touch and go between that and Stealth. I like that the animation is reasonably short.
Anyway, I'm on Union so I might take you up your offer. Is your global handle Tundra? -
Okay, endurance drain can have some use in some situations, but in general every-spawn occasions it doesn't. You can't drain lts and bosses faster than you can kill them, and when it comes to minions they get way too soon enough end back to attack normally.
I love Thunderous Blast and don't generally have any trouble staying alive after using it and Power Sink. Only thing limiting me using it even more is the lack of blue drops -
I'm exactly 38, having scraped about 3 levels since I started playing her again. I think a lot of my trouble comes from the fact that I feel so unfamiliar playing her after having so long a break and altering the build a lot when I respecced. She also feels a lot more vulnerable compared to my scrapper (obviously) but also peacebringer and even dominator, so it's probably the change that unsettles me. So anyway, it's a while until epics. I was thinking of going with Electric Mastery, but looking at it Force Mastery seems to offer more tools for survivability. Force of Nature doesn't really have mez protection though, does it? I think the description in my planner is incorrect. If it isn't, I'm so there.
I was thinking, would Personal Force Field allow me to herd mobs for AoEs? Could be a nice strategy once endurance drain works again. My only experience about it is the ha-ha moment when goofing off in Arena with a mate: he turned PFF on and I couldn't hit him until I got so annoyed that I hit Aim+BuildUp+Thunderous Blast and 1-shot killed him. He was all "what was that" but I don't know if I got lucky
Edit: forgot to say, I don't have Lightning Field or Lightning Clap. I have one respec left if really needed but would rather try to work with what I have for now. It works in teams and I can solo too, it's just a bit tricky. -
I'm elec/elec and have lots of melee attacks, snipe, thunderous blast and two holds, as well as CJ and acrobatics. I actually love my secondary and think the primary is weaker. I used to rely on endurance drain for some protection, but that's useless until i7 at least.
Couldn't fit Medicine in, though, and I don't have Fitness at the moment. It forces me to get into melee now and then to use Power Sink, but I want to get there anyway due to all my best attacks being melee. It's not a solo build, really, but sometimes you end up soloing anyway. I feel it does reasonably well in teams, so at least that's good.
I do try to pull when I can and that does work, it's actually just groups with bosses in them that are trouble and tend to force me to use hit and run tactics.
Everybody mentions inspirations, so I'm going to try using them more. My other toons tend to rely on drops but maybe it doesn't hurt me to actually buy some -
Hmm. Sounds like it's just me then.
I've been soloing on tenacious lately, but maybe I should actually go rugged to get fewer enemies as I'm not all that strong on AoE. I originally dropped to Tenacious because +2 bosses were a problem, but since then I've picked up a second hold so it should go a bit smoother now. -
I'll be vague too so as not to give anything away..
We had a team wipe in the final fight, probably because we couldn't lessen it quite as much as we'd have liked because of some bugs.. -
I'd be interested to hear what strategies you all use to solo with your lvl35+ blasters and what difficulty you're on. I've had my blaster, which used to be a decent soloist, practically on the shelf since before ED, and I have a hard time making it work for me now. It seems that whatever I do, a lot of running, backing down, being mezzed and using Defiance is involved.

Some of us have to work you know...
Allow me to rephrase:
I have to go to work and pretend to be working while reading the forums and programming on the Ranger website.

Confession of the day: I have SherkSilver's Hero Builder installed on my work computer, and it's used often enough that it appears in the first section of Windows XP start menu -
Controller damage builds can outdamage most everything in the game at high levels. I do think all dominators outdamage a vast majority of controllers, though. Especially as it seems to me that a vast majority of controllers has empathy secondary
If you're looking for a damage dealer, you will be disappointed. Except maybe with Fire, but there you may be disappointed at the control. -
Yeah.. only my triform peacebringer is worse. Things are a bit better now that I have dropped a few attacks from the secondary, though.
-
I'll bring Trill to Moonfire. Not sure about Hess yet

"House of Floating Squidies" surely?
or
"House of Grumpy Lobsters" depending on build.

Why not just go with House of Seafood? -
Revive is for people who don't let a small thing like death stand in their way!

Nice pose, Phil! Shame about the foot though

Posting this here, since I think this was the most active thread discussing this save from the Trainin Room thread, and I guess more defenders than blasters focus on endurance drain.

EDIT: Adding a couple things.
I put in a fix for Endurance Drain that I think you guys will like. It is in I7, because it was a huge amount of data changes.

Was looking for a thread but didn't find any yet, so here goes:
Congratulations to Voltan, Fire/FF controller who also dinged in our Shard TF yesterday
