Avatea said:Quote:I wish this announcement specified whether this "opportunity" to access DP and DS will be in beta testing or on live servers. Speculation and conjecture are feeding the rumor mill. Whether the mentioned access will be in the form of beta testing access for pre-orders or if they will get early access to these new power sets on live servers... well that's a pretty big difference.
Well, you have the opportunity to get access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning power sets in March and April, if you pre purchase City of Heroes Going Rogue (MSRP $29.99 USD)!
So, what's it to be, specifically? -

Not true, M I Abrahms pointed out the OP was cross-posting, and through I'd posted before he did, I edited my own comment concurring with M I's point. The info was helpful, but the means by which it was delivered could have been better. That might well be the reason the thread was deleted recently.

Quote:Ah, forgot, rules and whatnot only apply when they do not conflict with your wants and/or wishes. At least you are consistent, anything you don't like is either stupid, racist, or both.Seriously, you don't have anything better to do than ***** about a post you could easily ignore? They are going to reach more people by posting directly on the server forums than some place like player events. This is a player based initiative to help people get access to decent pvp. I think that merits some tolerance of the HORRIBLE indiscretion of cross posting.

Ghosts fear you, if you recently ate a pizza.
Alligator heads make excellent bridges, if their mouths are shut.
Eventually, every frog will be killed by a passing truck.
If you drive fast enough, you can make a jump of any distance.
Alien invaders, who can speak English, do so very poorly.
If you hear creepy music coming from nowhere, watch out for a zombie ambush.
Tapping "X" helps you deal with the searing pain of electrocution.
And, when traveling at super-human speed on foot or in the air, shrubs will stop you, so watch where you are going. -
Let's see...
An ancient, evil demoness, a pack of lusty, power-hungry Chi O's, and now apparently Conall Cian... the odds just keep stacking up higher and higher against the Nation girls. -
Conall Cian [Key-an] is my character, and though I created his backstory I do believe Sooner writes him even better than I do. Part III was great fun to read Sooner. One moment is filled with empathy for a terrified, hiding child and the next is filled with thoughts like "Oh you dirty $%&#@!, you're gonna get it now." Hahahahhaha, love it!
-
With a high-pitched giggle, it bounded down the hallway and placed the book on the dining table. It waved its tiny red hand over the note and Cyds jagged handwriting flowed across the bottom of the note, ...and, Sis...you should read this. Its really interesting. It might help you with your running and your field events.
Hahahahahahahah!
Bad guys, ya gotta love 'em!
Great stuff Sooner, bring on the next part. -
STF:
Invul/SS Tanker - The baddest tanks I've known ingame have all been Invul Tankers
Rad/Rad Def - Two words, De Buff
Earth/Kin Controller - These toons can single-handedly turn a bad situation into "under control"
Fire/Eng Blaster - BOOM POW THOOM
Ice/Ice Blaster - They hit hard, slow the enemy, can hold enemies, and bring Blizzard too, duh
FF/Dark Def - Buff us, debuff their Acc... nice
Psi or Rad Blaster - More ranged damage is always good on an STF
Numina:
Invul or WP Tanker - See above
Broadsword/WP Scrapper - Great single target punishment
Ice/Ice Blaster - See above
Rad/Rad Def - uh, see above
Earth or Fire/Kin Controller - While not my first choice, fire Controllers are quite impressive too
Positron: I've learned (from good, wise friends) a small team of $%& kickers can rock this TF.
Regen or WP Scrapper
Fire/Eng Blaster
Ice/Ice Blaster -
Fallout 3 - PS3
Madden 10 - PS3
Shooting Paper People - Glock or LWRC -

Another year closer to the end, Old Man.
And by "the end" I mean retirement, of course.
Happy Birthday bud. -
This is a great idea, sounds fun, and imbodies the things I like most about playing this game, not the least of which is having fun and lending others a hand (when and if you are able). Bravo.
-
From the four of us,
Congratulations to the three of you. -
While the buffs are nice enough to merit mentioning, keep in mind these pets redefine fragile. I've had to option of using them for a long time, but I honestly cannot recall the last time I summoned them for anything more than demonstration for another player.
So, ultimately I think it comes down to a question of personal preferrence and possibly character concept/back story. As for their practical benefit ingame, I find they just aren't worth repeatedly resummoning. Besides, it's easier to just teleport Vyx's corpse around for Vengeance. -
Your post got me thinking... about real people in the world who already fit the bill.
Paramedic, EMT, or ER nurse - Empathy Defender
Robotics engineer - Bots MM
Various military and law enforcement personnel - AR/Dev Blaster or Defender
Criminals - Thugs MM
Pop Icons - Mental Dominator
MMA figher - Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper
There are more, countless more, but these are the first few that popped into my head. -

Because I know some of my fellow Protectorites rarely venture beyond the bounds of these threads, I bring you word from the North...
Quick rundown of what seems to be happening:
1. Collect presents. When enough presents have been collected...
2. A Winter Lord (Giant Monster) spawns. When he is defeated...
3. A huge present appears. Important: this is marked on the map. A countdown starts which is 'preparation time'. When the countdown reaches zero...
4. Anyone who clicks on the huge present is teleported to Lord Winter's Realm. Lord Winter is a huge Winter Lord on top of a hill. Beatdown commences.
5. At 75%, 50% and 25% health, Lord Winter summons the Winter Guardian... a GM Winter Lord. While the Winter Guardian is alive, Lord Winter can't be hurt.
6. Defeating Lord Winter gets you 20 Candy Canes, 6 Reward Merits and the Lord/Lady of Winter Badge.
Please keep in mind, this was on test for a short while and could all change before the event actually goes live, but it certainly sounds like fun.
Oh, and if you want to know more, you're just going to have to go out and dig it up for yourself. =) -
Quote:Here are some numbers for ya...Hell, the near-travel power is good enough for me to get this. Is it true it's almost as fast as fly?
Lvl 50 Character:
Base: 14.32
Fly: 46.81 (with two IO Fly Speed enhancements)
Fly is capped at 58.63
Ninja Run: 20.04
Running is 34.36
Add in Swift (7.04) and possibly even Sprint (7.16) and you could run at 48.56.
So, not at fast as capped Fly, but pretty quick all the same.
Super Reflexes, Electric Armor, and VEATs should be even faster, but I have not as yet check those numbers out. -
Look at these...

Also, I've found there are weapons for Broadsword, Katana, and Dual Blades.
You can see the new helmet and the three detail options for it, there are two new glove types and boots to match. Two new robe designs each with a variant pattern to go with them. The new inherient Ninja Run is pretty cool, while not actually a travel power, it's a nice addition nonetheless. Also in the pack...
Two masks
A new hair style (one for male and huge and another for women)
Shoulder pads, with an optional texture too
A "belt" to go with the new robe designs
Two new emotes, Bring it and Push Up
Two new costume change emotes
All in all, it's pretty darn cool, adding these options to what we already have to play gives us piles and piles of new asian inspired costume options to tinker with now. -
My toon: Rufus T Rufus
My buddy's toon: 2 Dolla Trick
Yeah, we knew they wouldn't last, but it sure was funny. For about 15 minutes.
