I should be hitting it sometime today, which made me curious. Which little critter is worth taking?

Damn, four years...

Depends on the kind of toon you're talking about. There's only two different buffs.

* Defense/Recovery (Shield) +Rec, +Def - Base Defense +3.00%, Recovery Rate +1.75% (+0.08 end/second)

* Resist/Damage (Power) +Dmg, +Res(all) - Damage Bonus +3.00%, Resist (all) +5.00%

So, just depends on what you want out of the particular toon you're on. Then you have have to decide which actual pet you want. Clockwork Oscillator, Wisp, Drone, or a Fairy. Check out http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Battle_Hardened_Badge

I'll promise to go easier on drinking and to get to bed earlier, but not for you, fifty thousand dollars, or two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars will I give up women. They're too much fun! - Babe Ruth

As I'm only closing in on 18 months myself, I couldn't tell you.

But congrats.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Ah, so there is really no difference. It's either Power or Shield. I guess I will have to decide based on look. Those faries are as ugly as sin

While the buffs are nice enough to merit mentioning, keep in mind these pets redefine fragile. I've had to option of using them for a long time, but I honestly cannot recall the last time I summoned them for anything more than demonstration for another player.

So, ultimately I think it comes down to a question of personal preferrence and possibly character concept/back story. As for their practical benefit ingame, I find they just aren't worth repeatedly resummoning. Besides, it's easier to just teleport Vyx's corpse around for Vengeance.

The way I look at it, the survivability of those pets are very low. Out of the 4 stats affected by the various pets, the only stat that benefits the toon outside of combat would be +recovery. So I tend to favor the +rec/+def pets.

Same here - while I took the buffs, they're squishier than squishy. I pick mine based on looks only and most of the time I don't cast them and use em for show.

And Ice... I'm flattered that you enjoy using my corpse. Flattered might not appropriately convey my heartfelt feelings, but the thought is there.

The only toons I have who use their vet pets very often are my psi/ff controller and ice/cold corrupter who can both bubble the pets and my defenders who have -acc debuffs. Those pets stay around a little while usually. They are just too fragile for my other characters to get much use out of them most of the time.
