  1. I'd just be happy if I never saw another powerset get proliferated ever. Every time it happens there's 1 less reason to play another AT, and possibly less reasons for those that primarily play heroes or vills to try the other side.

I know most people are asking "who only plays on vills?"

    Me.

I have the 60 month badge and played heroes for a long time, even got some characters to 50 after I6. But in the end I always go back to villains because I enjoy being, well... at least somewhat evil more than being a goody-two-shoes.

But I'm off subject: I'm sure that even just changing a set's colors, swapping some animations, and changing the secondary effects can't be nearly as difficult as what they are doing in Going Rogue.

Personally, I'd rather have new power sets than the two new TF/SFs. My opinion is that the characters make the game, the content... not so much. Especially since only a few people read it anyway. I'll gladly do the same ol', same ol' if I can use new pwersets to do it in a different way.

Don't get me wrong, new content is a must, I just want my new powersets even more.

On another note: every time a bunch of powersets get proliferated, it takes away from the complete, overall uniqueness of every AT (minus the epics). At this point, it's almost like the only thing separating most ATs is their inherents and epic/patron powers.
  2. Happy celebration of being one step closer to the big supergroup base in the sky.

I've been in touch with Red today and been informed to pass along that she demands her name appear numerous times in this thread with fawning praise or "heads will roll".

So apparently I'm in a relationship with everyone on the Justice server. No one has any children by me yet, have they?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well....since our relationship is a centuries old blood-feud over Justice's catgirls and their queen Katfood, I really don't have an issue with your statement. I'll see you on the field of battle.

    Say hi to the kids.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Are you implying Katfood is centuries old? *senses a stabbing coming*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not only that, but he's implying that Justice itself is centuries old, when we all know it's barely 5 years old, or is it....

  5. Make sure you DL the PhysX driver from the NVidia site... a lot of crashes happen because when you turn up the settings in the game it starts tryin to use those fx and the driver isn't there. I also use a 8800 GT and it has a PhysX card built in. So you don't need to have the separate card.
  6. I agree that something like this would probably be the closest thing to side-switching we could realistically ever see in the game. But I think that's due to the way the ATs and powersets are set up.

The reason to want to switch sides in other games, like say EQ, was because you wanted to play a character type that normally isn't available to your race. Like say I wanted to play a dwarf shadowknight, I'd have to play a dwarf... I think it was warrior or something (I haven't played it in a while) and then do the betrayal quest once I reached high enough level, and then I could be a shadowknight.

In CoH... it might work for some ATs, like a brute could become a scrap or tank, but where does that leave ATs that don't have a clear, mirrored counterpart? What would a MM become? A defender with attacks and no pets? would a troller become a dom but get to choose a new secondary and vice versa? What about the VEATs and EATs?

But I agree with most of the people here, this is a really good and creative solution to something just about everyone wants. I admire the creativity the most, after all I didn't think of it.

    Edited for spelling.

    Things I want.

I see a lot of posts about people wanting this proliferrated, that proliferrated, and whatever. I'm not a fan of proliferation, although I'm not saying I'm not glad it happened. I do have an easier time at having fun playing a brute with any of the scrap or tank sets than I ever would as a scrap or tank. Also, I'm just the type of guy that like vills better.

But, I don't like that people are happy settling for non-creative solutions to our endless hunger for more powersets. I want originality and most of all I want actual super-powered sets... AR and archery and broad sword and battle axe etc. are just fine, but they seem to keep adding weapon sets. As far as I'm concerned shields is just a weapon defense set... I know the shield isn't technically a weapon, but as shown in shield charge, it can be.

These are just my opinions, and now let the ideas fly!

My first wanted powerset is something the devs already have in the game, but for some reason, we can't use it: Rad melee! The shivans have it, all the set would need is a few more powers, taunt, and a pretty build up animation... I vote for the rad blast Aim animation cuz I think it looks cool. Also with that, of course, Rad Armor.

Also, an SG mate of mine, Taelsin, and I have talked a few times about gravity melee and armor... I think he said he even posted it around here somewhere.

Also, something a lot of people want to see... Psi melee and armor. Again, these sets the devs have parts of in the game already but they just need to be finished, and given to the players.

Now for control. How about these quick ideas:

Time Control. Kinesis Control. Traps Control (think of using summons like those in devices and traps but used for control purposes... like making a trap door in the floor or planting glue mines or whatever else you can think of. I know it's not super-powered like I want, but cool nontheless.). Electric Control. These are just a few creative ideas off the top of my head and can be used for trollers as well as doms.

I'm sure I could come up with other stuff... I'm just tired of typing at the moment. I just wanted to get these ideas out due to seeing post after post of stuff players want proliferrated and saying to myself "bleh!"

But these are just my opinions and I know lots of people love weapon sets. I don't dislike them, I just don't like them as much.

One more thing... I feel that everytime some sets get proliferrated, that's one less reason to play a different AT. Case in point, I wanted to make a DM/SR character... since I like vills better I'm not playing the blue side of the game if I don't have to, so why bother? Basically proliferration takes away from the uniqueness of every AT involved.
  8. Where are those abandoned labs in PO and St. Martial?

    Valkyrie pics

    ummm.... page not found :-(

The link that this links to must be for a deleted page.
  10. Not sure how to get into safe mode on Vista.

    Valkyrie pics

I keep hearing about pics of new Valkyrie costume parts but I can't find them... anyone have a link?
  12. I have a problem where Vista will not let me downgrade or rollback to another driver... it automatically upgrades itself again and I can't stop it.
  13. ya, cuz Pocket D is considered a co-op zone, bases are not.
  14. Here goes nothing (or is it EVERYTHING? DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNN... inside joke for my fellow Pandes)

Bleyzsen Lord: First and foremost, because without him my origimal hero, mind/kin troller, would probably never teamed back in Issues 1-4 cuz nobody seemed to understand how kin worked and I couldn't get a team to save my life. I definately wouldn't have hit 50 before Khelds were introduced without him. Also, he taught me how to tank.

Charrlene: For being willing to do whatever, whenever... as long as there isn't a Katie Hannon team lookin for members:-)

Hessenkou: For convincing me to be Pandemonium's 1st recruit. I would have missed out on so much fun if I hadn't joined back in the early days of CoV. The convos we've had on our Vent server are by far some of the best I've taken part of in my life. I also think he's a great person just for being able to put up with so much crap from others when drama is learing it's ugly head.

Hydro: For his inspirational use of his MMs. He can micromanage the crap out of a bruiser and make you swear it's an actual player brute and not a pet. Also I gotta love that insane cackle he brings to the vent server along with his ability to always find a way to make the game fun.

Kaiser Soze: For being able to hold any type of argument in a civilized manner.

Icebox Man: For being so strong willed during the toughest of times. I have learned a lot from him.

Taelsin: For making arguing so fun!

Everyone in PDM: For all the good times and the VERY few good times I ever had attempting to PvP (but don't hold your breathes... it may very well never happen again). Also for putting up with my crass sense of humor and just for sticking together. Our core members are awesome and the new guys rock too!

The Lords of Chaos: My original hero SG which I am still a member of. I only know a couple of you pretty well, but the rest seem really cool too. Most of my hero 50s are in this SG and I always have fun when we team.
  15. Bah, I should have read stuff before I posted. You guys beat me to it.

What movie is that in your avatar? That is some seriously cool looking Gun-Fu.

Woo Hoo!! The more they buckle down, the sooner the beta starts. The sooner the beta starts, the sooner it goes live.

I believe that avatar is a Christian Bale movie called Equilibrium. Hope I spelled it right.
  17. My 28 scrapper just finished a arc involving the Council where the final boss was Ubellman. He was a time-traveler from the WWII era sent to find out as much as possible about what we know about WWII today to possibly use that knowledge and go back in time and change history. Is that what you're refering too, MasterGabriel?

Also, something interesting about that arc... the souvenir you get after defeating Ubellman is a note from Requiem. Basically, Requiem was the secret informant helping you by leaving clues and making sure you defeated Ubellman, stopping him from goin back in time. He had you beat Ubellman instead of doing it himself because the Center would come for him. He aslo mentioned that even though you did a great job, he doesn't respect you, and he will make a comeback.

Seems to be the newer version of that 5th Column arc.
  18. What if they do something like they did with the Snakes. The Snakes are brought back in the high-level content on the villains side and you fight their big, bad AV.

What if they bring the Skulls back in the high levels of the heroe's side content and introduce an AV?

I'm not gonna go as far as to say that the Skulls are masterminding the event, but the experimenting with their new drug could have resulted in a super Skull or something.
  19. Anyone remmeber when this thread was about I8?
