I thought this thread was going to suggest a "Blackadder" powerset, where you get to summon three Baldricks as your first tier power.
[/ QUOTE ]
3x Baldricks at -2 your level
2x Lord Percy Percy's at -1 your level
1x Queenie at your level
I like it
[/ QUOTE ]
lmao
Good ideas, but what about powers? baldrick's cappuccino of doom, where it poisons everyone? Hmmm what else -

Mine was Charged bolts, i still have it in my build now even though its not the most powerfull blast its a good for an attack chain.

If you use 1,2,3,4, then how can you move at the same time? Maybe its just me that cant press 3 buttons at the same time with my left hand.
How can you press foward (w) and F2 at the same time? Maybe my hand is just too small.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im able to move about, jump around, and attack at the same time, even if the keys are like F2 i can do it, its all about finding the right hand posture -
i think my lv50 blaster needs it, maybe we should properly set time and team
-
you have slotted some powers like electric fence which are purely a waste, when you could have added 1 onto tesla cage instead. And as for staying out of melee, just with havoc punch i can kill a yellow minion and in a team you will have the protection to go into melee safely......not that i care about portection personally. As you have fly slotting hover with speed is a bit of a waste as well, you can just switch out to move. Otherwise, you should be ok, not exactly the style that i play to but everyone is different
.
-
I think it is a must, as combined with build up you become super accurate and super powerful, means you can take on a lot higher if you are hunting or in a tight situation as using it with AoEs you can take out mobs easily
-
Aim and BU only need 4/5 recharge due to ED, before that they needed 6. I use them quite often, as they improve my damage a lot. So yeah, slot only with recharge.

As i said i want this to be the blaster guide to end all blaster guides
I will use what i know to write it, and with each new thought/info from others i get i will add to it. So if you want anything to be in it then just send me a private message (prob easier on forums rather than game) then i will give you an e-mail address to send that bit to.
With the guide i am not sure if exact numbers and calculations are needed, a blaster guide for all is 1 that explains things, say if you wanted calculations for what % damage you should increase it by etc. I will not write them myself, just a suggestion on how to slot powers. If anyone wants to put in calculations then send them to me like i said earlier. A main guide for blasters, then some guides from people who have played with certain sets would be good, so if my elec/elec, Deluge's eng/eng, and Ilfrit's fire/fire would be pretty good. Anyone else want to put in a contribution, feel free. I shall be working on the guide tomorrow for a while -
Ok, so why have seperate stuff when there can be a collaberated super blaster guide, in other words are you willing to send me them so they can be included as a life as a blaster, i will include my elec/elec/elec if i add yours.
-
Gratz, you seemed to stay on 45 then shoot up 2 50
-
Its gonna be a guide to blasters i as said, that means everything, and yeah, it will take me a little while to get it done perfectly.
-
I shall be finishing my blaster guide soon, thought i would post this to generate some hype before i released it

Ever been in this scenario?
You're close to death, with no respites - you're fighting the last guy on the mission and the hospital is a long way away. You could run and rest, but the enemy will die in one, two hits maximum. Knowing you have time for those hits you stick around.
Both your last attacks miss, and you faceplant.
[/ QUOTE ]
My life story, that has happened to me on a few occasions. I think that defiance should be at least modified, yes it can increase your damage by loads, but when you are about to die from a simple slap is there any point? I think they should change how much you have to be hurt, or add other effects to it like damage resistance, because when you defy the world you become stronger and more resistant. Maybe even a hold boost so those with holds can hold the enemies chasing them so they can recover. -
It has helped me finish off enemies in P v P, especially after an AS, gets me good defiance so i can quickly kill the ones who attack me. But, usually in a team i get healed before it is any use, and i never solo so in P v E it is pretty useless to me, unless i get coinstantly battered and healed giving me a hit or 2 where it affects.

gotta disagree with you hum..
doms are upgraded controllers? upgraded in what way? sure they may be upgraded in damage, but now lack (de)buffs and their crowd control is less than a controller... doesnt say I hate doms cause i kinda enjoy mine, but its wrong to say its an upgraded troller
comparing brutes and stalkers to be roughly the same is wrong as well.. they are meant to be played way different. A brute is meant to go on a fury rampage through mobs while stalkers are supposed to pick 1 off at a time, lurking in the shadows. Plus brutes can maintain a higher damage dealing compared to the single frontload damage of stalkers. (rage+full fury+KO blow... oh boy)
Robots not having much to offer? I play a robo myself (before EVERYBODY started rolling robo MMs). With the full upgrade your protector bots can disorient mobs (seeker drones + photon grenade -or whatever its called-). If you pick MM pick it based on how you tend to play yourself. If you like to stay at the back a bit blasting away, robots really are your best friend. Also MMs get some pretty nice (de)buffs. Also bots dont really need alot of special abilities once you get final upgrade seeing the stuns and the massive damage they deal is enough to rip through mobs anyway. Like I said, your choice of henchmen depends on your style of play. Having that said, there are indeed alot of bad robo MMs out there that can really mess up a good team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Forgot to change the upgraded part lol
And yeah they do play different, the similarity in melee but the style of play in which u play to be a successful stalker/brute is quite diff. And i knew some people would say that brutes can do as much as stalkers, but can they do as much as an AS strike, if so, then they might be worth a look in
And i say that because i have never seen the ROBOTS (i refer to pets not the photon grenade in the set, although i should mention it) stun a whole group, i have only seen them blast away. When i played robots in BETA i liked them, im not putting them down im just saying they do not have as much technicality as the other sets. And yeah, only play an MM if u wanna be an MM, cos u can get some that get the whole team killed or savw the whole team. -
Right, this really depends on what you want. Corruptor, gd damage dealer and it has powers to de-buff others, buff allies, heal itself, hold things etc. As said, it is a cross between a blaster and defender. Dominator, your upgraded controller. Able to take a bit more, they have melee powers as well as some ranged ones and the primary holding powers. I say you should definitely try them, as their domination special power is unbelievable. Brutes and Stalkers are roughly the same, both melee orientated but brutes can take more damagae than stalkers, in most cases, but a stalker can deal more damage. Masterminds, when you know how to use them they are devastating. Just dont get robots, too common and have no special abilities apart from a heal/bubble armour. Mercs can blind a whole group which is useful, and they deal really good damage. Necro is also technical, not as damaging if not used right but when u use them they can be awesome, they have the ability to heal, hold, de-buff and deal gd damage at range and melee. They also get an extra pet, when 1 pet dies u can turn them into a ghost, which are pretty powerful and a range that is double that of any snipe. Ninjas can be useful as well, and they deal gd damage, but up to the last pet they do most of their damage in melee. Want anything else then ask.

I was explaining that ice is bad for general P v E but gd for P v P, but P v E is more important unless ur gonna be teaming with a gd team who can support u all the way to 50. And ice's effects are ok, can be useful, but they do not effect tons so why get a set just for that, when elec and energy have better effects.

Though we do thoroughly recommend blasters
[/ QUOTE ]
agreed, take your pic of sets, each has its own unique feel. I chose electricity myself, which i recommend. But you will probably choose energy like everyone else
Stay away from ice, no snipe, 2 holds which can be sueful, but it is not as efficient at others as killing and keeping you alive, as the nuke (final power, mega damage) is a DoT (damagae over time, like loads of 5 dmg where as other nukes do it all instantly)
Elec drains end and may give you back some end, fire does gd damage and some DoT, ice slows them down and gives them a higher recharge rate (they attack less), assault rifle has some useful powers although quite standard, and a DoT nuke, energy has knockback (which can be useful) and decent damage. And as for nukes, nova (energy nuke) is really good if your soloing, although it can [censored] off melee ATs (tank/scrapper), Thunderous blast (elec) is my favourite as when they die from it they just stand their being electrified then fall to the floor, and it is the best damage (in my case). Assault rifle is a cone DoT, ice an AoE (area of effect) DoT, and fire the same as nova (melee) but no knockback, just some extra damage from DoT and its primary blast.
Secondaries- This depends on yourself really, electric is great as you can re-fill your end bar with power sink from it, then 2 awesome melee moves, a hold, and the rest are ok but not really worth getting. Energy has some useful powers to boost yourself and deal some gd damage. Ice and fire are nothing special. Devices can be useful and very damaging with the bombs you get later on, but thats all that is worth it.
If you care about P v P then energy and electric sets are worth taking a look at, and ice's holds and energy's damaging melee moves (which knocks the toggles, armours, off scrappers and tanks making them quite easy to beat) are a good combo, but only if you really know what your doing.
Hope this helps, want anything else gimme a shout.
