Holy cow. I am floored, I really am.
Thank you very, very much -- and I say this as a player who's come to love teaming with a passion, but often simply isn't able to; my hours are anything but convenient for other players, and I'm frequently afk during them, making teaming with me for any significant duration a real pain. I love this game's story arcs, and I'm delighted to know that I'll be able to complete them -- *and* that AVs will remain unchanged. Just how it should be. Thank you! -
Peregrine Island really does need some help.
Poor Ghost Falcon is mobbed almost 24/7, and not only by players; there's nothing like loading up on a full set of new enhancements when you hit 42, only to be perpetually shoved from his side by pedestrians. Pushy critters, they are.
And then there's the Carnies. The original poster wasn't exaggerating the problem much: given that the Carnie arc has, if I remember, *three* "arrest 50" missions in it, and that there's only one very small area to arrest them in, competition is inevitably fierce. It was not uncommon, a few weeks ago, to see small lines of heroes forming around their spawn spots...
"Pardon me, are these yours?"
"No, no, you first."
"Carnies behind the shed, everyone!"
"No, I think you were here first..."
Don't get me wrong: I love PI. There's a lot of variety there, and Portal Corp remains one of my favourite sights in town. But an extra town zone somewhere with Carnies in residence, at least, would be a huge relief. -

Statesman has made it quite explicit that while all ATs should be able to solo, that does not mean they will be able to solo all their own missions.

Which is exactly the original point, I believe: that, since there's a boss in almost every mission, post-40 for instance, being completely unable to solo bosses *means* being completely unable to solo *any* mission. I am all in favour of AVs being a magnificently difficult fight; that's precisely what I expect from them. Ditto for 'elite'-class bosses. But the ones encountered in every mission? -
Kudos to a Dev team that puts all the others to shame. After playing SWG, and seeing some of the comments from developers there -- and DAoC, which was actually worse, I never thought I'd see the day when Devs actually participated as part of the community they'd created. That in itself is a pretty amazing thing.
Kudos to the GMs and customer service crew, who I've found to be prompt, courteous, and willing to help far beyond what I expect from just about any business, let alone an MMO.
Huge kudos to the writers! I may not be a big fan of the comic book (although it's improved hugely, in this last issue), but for the first time in an MMO I'm actively enjoying reading the mission descriptions -- and the story arcs? Your Praetorian and alternate-dimensions have me racing back for more.
While we're at it, kudos for taking the time off to spend the holidays with your families. Time that was *richly* deserved.
Edit: Almost forgot -- kudos for making an MMO that the casual player can actually enjoy. We've been the ignored market for years, and you've certainly proven wrong all the folks who said that it simply didn't exist. Huge thanks, for that. -

Greetings Heroes,
I was reading another thread and was looking for your thoughts on this topic. Basically I hear that NCSoft is considering charging people who want to play or have a CoV account, and additional $15.00 above and beyong our $15.00 a month fee that we pay for CoH.

To clarify: you didn't hear NCSoft doing anything whatsoever. You heard a group of people talking about what they think might be done -- or what they fear might be done. Until a red name -- or a press release -- is stating something definitive on the matter, there's really no point at all in worrying over it. And if I recall, Statesman has said himself, on more than one occasion, that there'll be no additional subscription charge.
But don't take my word for it either. *g* -
So it turns out that, a little like in real life, trick or treating is more fun in groups. Sounds good to me!
That was the first non-SG team I've been in since months ago, and we had a wonderful time -- although I feel for the poor guy who walked out of our door, only to be greated by a horde of sugar-high...er...halloween-high heroes throwing trip mines and ice patches. *laughs* But we invited him in too, spent a lot of time joking about rocks, skittles and pumpkins, and had a really fun few hours.
Yeah, something must *definitely* be done to put an end to this madness! ... -
