I also don't get why some have called the rest of us liars when we report having significantly different experiences when fighting Trapdoor. I think enough people have reported the variations in experience to convince you that we aren't just making stuff up to vex you.
I don't think anyone is upset because people would like to solo this mission. I did it solo so I don't care if someone else wants to run this solo. What I have been trying to say is that pulling Trapdoor away from his clones is not the only way to beat him. There are other ways to take him down.

Also, once again your reasoning is wrong: if the developers intended Trappy to be fought with all his clones up, we would not be able to kill them. See what I did there? OK Trappy is ranged AND melee. If you forget that he will be happy to remind you.

All this is academic to me, because I won't be running anyone else through this for a good long while. For which I feel great relief.
Do you really think that the developers went through the trouple of coming up with this cool new ability and have him not use it? This whole argument has reached the point where it is now stupid. It doesn't matter if you like it or not the Developers have made it so you can't pull him out of the room anymore so everyone will just have to deal with it.

Good gravy, what next. Claims that killing the towers one by one in the STF is "an exploit" because the developers intended him to be fought with them all up? They must have, after all they placed Recluse in range of them so taking out the towers is an "exploit!!1!!11"

    Massive eye-roll here.
Really?? So if you were able to pull an AV, EB, or plain boss into a Hallway and his powers stoped working you wouldn't think that maybe just maybe something is wrong? That maybe the developers made a mistake or maybe there was a bug. If the developers intended for you to fight Recluse with the towers up then you would not be able to kill them. The developers want you to fight Trapdoor with his clones so now you can't pull him out.

I don't think so I am sure the developers are aware that the is a large population of players who like to do things solo and I think they will keep that in mind when doing future Incarnate stuff. (Of course I could be wrong.....its been known to happen alot).

If pulling Trapdoor away from his minions is bad, then *all* pulling of bosses away from their minions is bad, its an "exploit" and needs to be stopped ASAP!

I hope you can see how extremely silly such a supposition is.

Trapdoor is not a special snowflake, he does not deserve such extreme protection and I think his being protected in such a fashion is silly. Not to mention dangerous, because we don't want the developers getting the idea that pulling is bad.

Unless we're Nalrok, I guess. Who knows.

In all deadly seriousness I ask, then what are they? Because right now, squishys are being asked to stand toe-to-toe with Trappy and have not only him hitting them with everything he has, but all of his bifurcations hitting them too... and remember, the faster you kill them the faster he spawns them [Or so it seems to me]. All this on top of his killer +regen. If your squishy does not have KB to deal with him, you're sorta, well... doomed.

    Now that's a recipe for success! /endsarcasm
You really seem to be missing the point so I will try and explain this again. Trapdoor has a unique power that allows him to spawn clones that regenerate his health. The development team did not intend for you to pull him away from those clones. However they messed up and people took advantage of that. Once they noticed there mistake they went back and fixed it. To answer your question about how to beat him well there are several ways and alot of them have been pointed out in the thread. You can use Shivans there are temp powers you can get to cancel his regen, get him into the lava, eat inspirations like they are candy and outdamage his regen. The last time I ran this arc was on a Empath/Ice Defender with only common IO's and I did it solo. If you don't like any of these ideas then find a couple of friends and form a TEAM and take him out together.

Thank you God that you are not on the development team. They're bad enough, we don't need your mindset infiltrating them.

If tactics that involve the use of tools equals "exploit," I expect to see the following things removed from the game ASAP:

    *all inspirations
*all snipe tools, including the Blackwand and Nemesis Staff
    *shivans
    *nukes
    *Vanguard HVAS
    *PvP zone heavies
    *...and really, enhancements.

At the bottom of your slippery slope is the notion that ANYthing that helps you win a fight is a cheat, and therefore an exploit. Good luck with that line of reasoning.
The problem is that the development team never meant for him to be pulled out of range of his clones. That was a mistake they made and so they fixed it. It is not them trying to tell you that you must stand face to face with him and fight through his regen. There are still several other tatics you can use to defeat him without trying to outdamage his regen. I don't see why everyone is so upset about this.

I don't know... I think I'd be better off making my own Incarnate arcs in the Mission Architect. I could even just ignore the canon and make up my own versions of what being an Incarnate means. Something to think about, I suppose. It will be a long time before I fill the slot on one of my characters, so I'll have plenty of time to plan some stories. It might not work too well, though, because I can't get more shards from the AE to upgrade my Alpha buffs.
You know there is not really a whole lot of Incarnate content at all. Right now there is only the opening arc and 2 taskforces (unless there is more I don't know about). I don't think that qualifies has a lot of content period. Give it time and I am sure more will be added that will satisfy both the team and solo crowd.
  8. I guess maybe I am a little confused about why everyone is so upset. It seems the whole argument is if you should be able to do the arc and open the alpha slot solo. First of all there is not a single mission for the alpha slot that can't be done solo. I am not talking about having some uber powered toon either. I have done this arc 3 times solo and all of those toons have only common IO's. If you get stuck on something then there are plenty of temp powers that you can use to help make things easier so you don't have to team with anyone. If you don't want to spend the time getting said temp powers and don't want to spend any time asking for help or finding a team then not being able to complete the arc is completly your fault and has nothing to do with bugs or things being to hard. If people are not willing to put forth a little effort then why should they get the rewards.
  9. From the Patch Notes....
    Powers

Fitness Pool powers have been incorporated into Inherent powers available at Level 2
All characters will be granted Swift, Hurdle, Health, and Stamina.
Existing characters with these powers selected via Pool Powers will be able to gain the powers they have not previously taken via the normal leveling process. They will not gain access to any of the Inherent fitness powers until they Respec.
Upon using a Respec, the Fitness pool will not be selectable by the character and all 4 powers will be granted as Inherent Powers at level 2. This prevents issues with lost enhancements or slot allocation errors.
  10. I had this problem for a few minuets but I was also haveing lots of lag issues and other starange random bugs. I just logged off and restarted and everything seemed to work fine.

If it is correct, as mine is, then yes it should.

    Are you ESL?
Because that would explain a lot about this thread.
Why is it I have seen Nethergoat in thread after thread defending MA. The fact of the matter is the MA was being used to PL new players to 50 extremly quickly. These new players know nothing about the game and the would subject their lack of knowledge on everyone else. This is something that I am sure everyone had to deal with at least once. So stop trying to deny it. It just makes you sound silly. MA had some serious flaws in it and a large portion of the community noticed it.
  12. I guess this whole thing is more about etiquette than what I was asking for in my original post.[/QUOTE]

I have ran into this several times before. If I am running somones else mission and they lose connection I will not finish the mission. It seems rude to complete somone elses mission when they are not there.
  13. Wow some people will cry over everything!!
Hey thanks very much for the free stuff. Hope everyone has a nice holliday and Merry Christmas to all!

  16. I am very sorry to see you go Lighthouse. At times I think you were the only voice of reason on the forums. You will be missed.
