I'd love a City of Spies. I trust Statesman and the crew to do a really good job, but I'm not sure how they could create another group of archtypes that would have the Spy flavor and be self sufficent. I also just wouldn't want Spies to be anywhere close in power to Heroes. I know Crimson and Indigo are awesome, but I assumed the reason they send my hero on missions was that I would have a greater chance of coming back. I would like CoH to keep the focus on Heroes.

One of the obvious moves is the City of Manga/City of Manhwa to appeal to CoH growing Asian audience, through NCSoft Distribution.
In particular, such a game/expansion would probably feature a high tech Korean or Japanese themed city with lots of martial arts powers, lots of robots, and perhaps a few powersets that cater directly to the magical girl types.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see no problems with this.
[/ QUOTE ]
dude...the animation times on all those magical girl powers are way too freakin' long...10-minute animation for your ultimate attack and it's interruptable?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but think about what kind of damage those things do, with a ten minute interrupt barely make it balanced. Plus the hammer appearing out of no where attack. -

I wish i could find the interview. But it was done shortly after COH launch. And he also said he had others. But that City of Spies he would like to do after COV. Good question about how would spies fit? Sounds cool to me. Imgaine the cool ATs they could do. (or might be already working on)
[/ QUOTE ]
I think spies would fit into a grey area, they can either have high morales, none at all or fit in some where in between.
As for archtypes, some of us have already thought about them...
Coordinator When multiple agents are out in the field, someone needs to keep some level of order and grease the wheels to keep things running smoothly. This is the domain of the Coordinator. He keeps his allies buffed, protected and healed. A Coordinator is always trying to keep the situation under control.
Buff/Blast
Inherent power: Reserves, when everything is under control a Coordinator knows not to expend himself and always keeps a reserve for that moment things spiral out of control. When things start to look bad he knows it time to give it his all and breaks everything out. As teammates health drop his buffs and debuff become more potent.
Note: Coordinators are the only AT that gets pets in CoS as a ninth power for their primary.
Detectives A Detective relies on his wits and his sharp senses for getting his job done. He watches his foe and looks for openings and weaknesses in his foes defenses and then taking them out to complete his mission. A Detectives work takes him everywhere and often in tight spaces, meaning he needs to know how to fight up close and personal.
Melee/Defense
Inherent power: Deduction, the best way to beat your enemy is to know him. Watching his foes fighting style allows a Detective spot all the weaknesses and opens he can exploit to hit his enemy. Deduction builds up the same way a Brutes Rage does, but instead of giving him extra damage he gains Accuracy.
Enforcer When it absolutely, must be stopped the Enforcer is your man. He keeps his allies out of harms way by stopping the enemies in their tracks. In a perfect world they could practice this trade from a distance, but anyone coming to Espionage City with that kind of mind set will be lucky if theyre shipped out of the city in a Pine wood box. As such, they train exclusively for up close and personal meaning most invest time in learning how to protect themselves as well as others.
Enforce/Defense
Inherent power: Decoy, when all your buddies have been stopped in their tracks and youre all alone, the one stopping them tends to seem like the biggest threat. Enforcers use this to their advantage to keep the others safe while they pick off mezed foes. The more mezed enemies within 100ft of your character allows you to generate more aggro.
Note: Enforce is a mix of Melee and Control powers. For instance, the Icy Order set would look like the following.
1. Ice Sword
2. Frozen Touch
3. Frost
4. Block of Ice
5. Flash Freeze (Turned to PBAoE)
6. Power Boost
7. Ice Sword Circle
8. Greater Ice Sword
9. Frozen Aura
Tracer As quiet as a shadow, as visible as the air, as deadly as a bomb, this pretty much sums up a Tracer. Its his job to search through the urban jungle and find his man and make sure hes not happy when he gets up. Stealth, subtly and range are the qualities that make a great Tracer.
Blast/Preserve
Inherent power: Cover, all Tracers know to stay out of sight and often can get off a single shot without giving themselves away. This click power represents this by giving you one aggro free shot as long as youre stealthed.
Note: The Preserve set is a collection of self buffs and powers to keep a Tracer alive before and after hes revealed. For instance, we have the Panoply set. A set of gadgets.
1. Hide (as per stalker power)
2. Wheels (a buff that gives a Tracer a speed boost in the form of wheels in his boots or shoes, toggle)
3. Explosive Rounds (small boost to damage, click)
4. Thermo Goggles (gives Tracer a +perception, toggle)
5. Targeting Drone
6. Nostrum (many drugs not readily available are used to get the end result of Nostrum, to make the pain less real. Tracers employ it when they know theyre going to be found and need to last a little bit longer. A boost to a Tracers max health, click)
7. Kevlar (A small boost to the Tracers defense against Smashing and Lethal, auto)
8. ACPR (This small device is planted in the Tracers chest, easily activated it jumps starts a dead Tracers system bringing him back to life with half health and end. Since adrenaline is used in the process the Tracer finds himself stronger for the experience for a short while, Click)
9. Blind (The Tracer sets this up to help cut down on the aggro he produces. This immobile object sends out a small aura that all Tracers can take advantage of) -

Ever seen R.O.D.? If not, think about using electricty to attract the bullets with out them hitting you. So it'd be like defense, with energy resistance and possible negitive energy and fire resistance.
But if you haven't seen R.O.D. go see it now!

Yet again, I ask you how electrical armor would work. How exactly being shocked with lightning provide defense? Of course, they did do it for people on fire, I'll just have to wait and see.

Hermod didn't think she was refering to him. "Excuse me, Grandma." No matter how he said it it felt wrong in his mouth. She was nice, kind, but it made Hermod feel silly. He ran out the door with superspeed and throw something throw the air at Soulll Trainnn. It got some distance thanks to the superspeed launch. The Heroine caught it and found a letter wrapped around a stone. The letter said, "I owe you one." And had a phone number under it.
Hermod walked back into the Diner, took a seat and drank some more of the iced tea. "Uh, if you want me to leave I can go somewhere else." He said when he looked at the two. -
"Thank you very much." Hermod said in delight, it would requie a few hops to jump through, but he'd do whatever he could to get his bike back. Shaye left and he looked at the new comer.
"We all have accidents, mine got me on the bad sides of a ew lovely ladies cal the Norns of Fate. You can sense magic right, look here." Hermod held up his palm and concentrated, no one but one with magic talent could see the faint glow of the rune on Hermod's hand. It's meaning long lost. "I got a pair on my feet and another on my other palm. The Norn's branded me with them because of a acciendent." -
When Shaye had meantioned he could easily get it out he made abit of a nervous face. "Doesn't exactly help that I have a couple of unpaided tickets for various things. I'd pay them off, but I can never get the money together." Hermod didn't tried not to think about that and ate some of the cobbler. Then the man broke the chair. "Welcome to the Diner buddy." Hermod said lightly."
"Well, I sorta became Hermod, or he became me, or something that suppose to sound deep like that. I just don't like seeing things go wrong in the world. I guess you could say it's somethign I do inbetween bous of normality. But it seems like the one job in the world I was made to do." He shrugged as he ate somemore of the cobbler, it was delicious. "What about you friend?" He asked the new comer. -
"Yeah, Sleipnir, I use to ride her when I wasn't a hero. I don't need it anymore, but it's still nice to have, to be normal every once in a while. Not to be runnign along at speeds people weren't meant to run at." Hermod sighed, riding was one of lifes few simple pleasure for him. "But they've impounded it because of where I parked it."
Shaye asked the inevitable question. "Where did you park it?"
"In front of a fire hydriant, while I was helping put out the fire." He added bitterly.
Delor came back out with some peach cobbler and iced tea. Hermod smiled after taking a sip of it. "So tell me Hermod whats it like, being a hero? How about you Shays? Back in my day heros were rare, and most people had to fend for themselves.
Hermod fumbled for abit. "Well, it's a rush realy, but it's not just frm putting you life on the line, I enjoy people being thankful I saved them. It's kinda a change from people boing me off the stage." Hermod sighed again. "Unless it's the Band, then you're going to have a bad day no matter how you slice it. No one even knows you saved them. I guess letting them go on with thire lives should be payment enough, but it just feels so empty. And it doesn't help that the Band's members are so creepy, so empty of life." Hermod shuddered and then realized he was bring the others down. "Sorry, I guess I shouldn't feel to sorry for myself. Kinda got caught up in it."
(OOC Note: I realy don't ride. I gave Hermod a bike just so I could make him have some reason to be looking for a job. But fill in anything you want abut it.
Oh, and yes, the Band doesn't acctualy exist, they're part of a story I'm writing. They're full name is the Band of Twilight.)
