Awesome! Typical J-Force style

My thought is that I15 is going to go to beta during E3....of course, I have no proof to back that up, but it would sound like a good marketing move.
Does NCSoft/Paragon Studios have a booth at E3? -

Devs, please please please give server downtimes in UTC as well as US times. I'm in Australia and don't know what timezone CST is.
The server status page date-time is in UTC but the server downtime notices are in CST. Hard to reconcile.

For anyone that uses firefox, there is a handy, dandy addon called "FoxClocks." It allows you to pick timezones from all over the world and display them in a bar right within FireFox! If you don't know what time it is in a certain part of the world relative to your own time, you want this addon! -
Great mini series! Thanks to you all for putting that together
-
patience yo! wait till open beta, then we can see the beta release notes! Sheesh mac, you're so pushy!
-
The Heck-tic Life/Heroic Life comic was friggin' hilarious! Thanks!

Bruce,
The picture on your cube wall looks like you had a rockin' fu manchu/pornstache! What happened to it? Or is that not you? -
A precursor to City Vault? I certainly hope so!

This. But I think I'll be buying a respec recipe from the market before I need to make use of this
Props to adding more options tho -

It all seems to, after reading this entire thread, boil down to that one singular rule which offers no true guidance for our actions aside from 'don't annoy the mods'. This is my concern and has been all along. If that's truly the case, then why not just call a spade a spade and say so?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because that conveys a notion which does not underly their intent.
You want them to state that all rules are hard, fast, impartial, and inviolate.
By the nature of the goals, that is impossible. It will always be neccessary for them to use their human judgement about what is and is not acceptable, based on principles set forth in these rules. The rules encode one hard and fast rule - whatever they decide to do, based on their human judgements, it stands. Based on that one rule, its their way or the highway, because this is their house they built, and we're guests.
The rest of the rules are there to point out a few specific examples of things they're going to be looking for or types of behavior they don't want to see. Beyond that it's a judgement call, both on our part as posters and their part as moderators.
Saying it the way you seem to want them to - that this is a subjective order and watever they decide is what flies - would carry a pejorative connotation that they don't intend.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well said!
[ QUOTE ]
Their intent is not to act as cruel, arbitrary dictators. They want guests in their house, and poorly treated guests leave.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, we don't want current guest's to engage in actions that cause other guests to leave.

Lighthouse's comments immediately brought to mind an image of Dave Chappelle as Rick James grinding his muddy boots into Charlie Murphy's suede couch....ahh, the sweet lulz -

So what are the people that paid more for getting both coh/cov going to get for ponying up the extra money.....
Why do I feel im getting slapped in the face again for buying something that becomes free later on......
[/ QUOTE ]
Why are there so many people like this in the world? I paid the xtra $$ too dude...so what? You think that $$ would have some how changed your life? It's just like anything else, you buy it when it's new you pay more...you wait awhile and you get it cheap. Ala cars, phones, houses, clothes, ect. Quite crying.
[/ QUOTE ]
This same argument can be applied to any piece of technology ever purchased. Lets say you bought an original iPhone. Are you now going to whine and complain that, since a "new and improved" iPhone is out that you are entitled to it cause you bought the original iPhone....the market thusly laughs.
Yeah, it's a sad thing, but that's just how marketing goes. -

can i have my money back that i paid for cov then?? cause this is kinda a slap in the face for those of us that bought cov.
and this is pretty much the same ol promises that we've been hearing. how about doing something to prove them, how about getting these supposed 3 issues a year out for once. we've had 1 in a years time and its getting quite boring.
sorry if i seem doubtful that this announcement means anything, but so far its the same announcement that was made before. talk is cheap in this world .
[/ QUOTE ]
I understand where you're coming from. I too bought CoV, specifically, the collector's edition, but I'm not demanding my money back for that. Marketing strategies and plans change for any company. NCSoft is, more and more, ramping up development of the game and announcements like this make me hopeful of the bright future that is in store for the game. It's all about patience -

Despite the combination, do I still gotta have a level 50 villain to have the villain epic archtype or is that still the same too? :P That'd be cool to have ANY level 50 to unlock the epic archtypes but that's my laziness talking!
[/ QUOTE ]
I highly doubt that they'll make it so that either side 50 opens up either side EAT.

I blame Bohmfalk for my anxiousness to see what these future projects are!
Go back to Justice Bohm! :P

I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Freedom Phalanx vs. Arachnos" console game or a boxed expansion or other restricted-access content coming sometime within the next fifteen months
[/ QUOTE ]
Freedom Phalanx VS. Arachnos = old 'n busted
Freedom Phalanx VS. Praetorians = new hawtness

Who cares....what are these future IP plans? How do these changes affect the IP, and how does the IP affect the combining of the games? What does this all mean? Any ideas?

This is the final step needed in preparing the IP for future projects, to be announced later this year.

Hmmmm....wonder what these future projects could be???

I foresee a time coming soon in which all zones will be accessible to all toons. For example, the Rouge Isles will be accessible by heroes, and Paragon City will be accessible by Villains. I don't know if that will ever happen, but that's just my theory. -
Nope, if you buy CoH, you get access to CoV and vice versa
-
Great video! Now if we could just get some actual game settings created to go along with it, that would be even more terrific. But regardless, excellent video!
-
*drool* I can't wait for the 54 month badge! I still got a ways to go though...at least another year I think
Oh well. Having the Nem Staff AND the Blackwand?!
I love it!

*cries* why couldnt you all be in Seattle instead?? Emerald city comic con I can travel to, Cali is a bit too far for me.
side note, its not really fair people in cali get an in game item others wont have access to. isnt that kinda geographically biased? would be fair if you offered them at all city's cons one year.

There's always the Penny Arcade Expo August 29th-31st, which CoH reps will be attending. Check out the already existing thread about it here.
Gonna try to make it to this with the wife in tow since she would be up for a trip to Seattle. Now if I can just make the finances work in my favor...
