    PVP Event!

Anything regulating temp powers or the size of insps?
  2. I think there is something to be said for subscription numbers taking prescidence over sales because many gamers may buy a copy only to decide the game isn't fun enough to justify the ongoing (and much larger) cost of maintaining the account.

I don't have numbers. This post is much more anecdotal and, therefore, subjective.

And there are a number of variables that account for a difference between the numbers of copies sold/subscribers and how the gameplay "feels" (something I'll try to explain when describing the variables). First, it's possible to have a relatively high concentration of subscribers populating a few servers, leaving the rest of them comparatively deserted. And when someone charges his/her primary server s/he will most likely drag a number of friends along - especially is the person in question in a more active player. But the possibility also exists that there are pleanty of subscribers who have characters on Infin, but they aren't playing those characters.

The second reason things seem a bit desolate could be that people who do subscribe simply aren't playing as much. Due to the economy they may have been compelled to put in more overtime or find a second job, and they just don't have as much leisure in thier week.

I'm also guessing that two possibilities are also working in tandem with some of the discussions that have appeared here on the boards. Players who stalwartly insist on getting their CoX may have less time to play, and they want to get the most out of the time they spend logged into the game; as a result, they've sought out the servers that are enjoying higher populations to find teams quickly to enjoy the multiplayer aspect of an MMORPG. Players who are active on the boards have been asking which servers are more populated (perhaps having noticed a decline in their own server's activity) so they can go there instead.

And if anyone could point the way for me, I would appreciate it: I'm not trying to jump ship, but this rat would like to diversify his cheese equity and place some in a more seaworthy vessel (how's that for mixing metaphors?).

    Thank you devs

Sweet. Now if only they can get my contagious confusion PROc to stop making my pets attack me everything would be gravy.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
iirc Castle said he would have like to do this but was unable to, there is no 'tp range' stat that can be modified by suppression, as far as I know, the game's mechanics wont allow it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see why. They can scale range for blasters using both enh and (in the opposite direction) reducing it w/whirlwind. What's so different about TP? I'm sure there's some esoteric reason having to do with how the power itself is is programmed, but isn't that what the devs are for? Aren't they supposed to fidure out how to fix that?
  5. I don't know about flight being more popular, but I don't like what the devs did to teleport in PvP. SS, SJ, and flight all have somewhat limited use during combat situations, but the teleport power is completely unavailable. That's effed-up. I think poeple should still be able to use TP, but it would be a much more limited range...like maybe 10-20 yards instead of 100. That way there is at least a little mobility (like there is with the other movement powers), but the suppression is still in place.

I didnt Pvp befor i13 so can someone tell me why it was so much better?

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Better"? Well, yes and no. Certain ATs got a lot of heat because they significantly outperformed others. The vills rolled a metric buttload of mid/fire permadoms, fire/thermal corruptors, EM/ninjitsu stalks (running at the stealth cap), and EM/elec brutes. Heros gravitated toward ice/EM tanks, fire/EM blasters, ill/storm or ill/emp trollers, emp defs, and anything rad. Noticing this, the devs took everything that was unique and novel about these power sets and made them suck.

They nerfed the animation for energy transfer in the EM set; holds no longer really hold (unless you stack a bajillion of em - and even then it's only for .7 seconds); blaster damage now sucks; empathy now sucks; permadoms...can't; and */poison MMs are still rediculously overpowered.

    have u pvp'd alot?
def is lame especially nowadays if u dont have a backup health builder like what the medicine pool provides ull need to boost recharge and regen to the max or ppl will whittle u down

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've PvPed some, but never w/an ice tank. This build does have something like 313% regen and perma hoarfrost and almost perma hasten; hibernate takes about 39 secs to recharge, according to Mid's. IDK though, might just keep this one as a PvE tank - something to pad my resume with.
  9. I was hoping the OP and/or respondants could give me some suggestions on this possible Ice/EM PvP build. I was trying to make a light-footed heavy-hitter w/sharp eyes and good survivability. I figured that i could do w/a little less regen since Hoarfrost is perma, and I like having 2 +perception powers. What would you change?
