nvr said i cared either way, jus stating a fact of life in this game. idc what i pay as long as i get it. no, the market sux in this game. it doesnt allow you to do anything easy. you get 5 or w/e examples of what something sold for, then its "lets guess what said ******** are charging for said item" game, no the market is definately geared toward the seller, and the bidders will always be at their/our mercy.

buyout would be an option. if you dont want to use it then dont. play the ridiculous bidding game if that is your bag. id rather buy my **** and GTFO and back to playing the game.

ive paid some retarded high prices for common garbage in the name of impatience. the market needs a WoW-style BUY OUT button. blind bidding is retarded. either way, i want my salvage/recipes
    right now, not maybe later.
  3. i somehow liberated Liberation and liberated myself from the glorious purpley purples that kept appearing in my inventory. i woke up this morning hoping it was a very bad dream, sadly...for naught. After weeping for several hours, and abusing my RL friends with QQs about something they know absolutely NOTHING about; and then crying some more I say "hey wtfwjd?" and starting tearing thru missions/contacts trying to find at least something near farmable and in the process maybe get a purple for my effort, but noooooo. nope. nothing. some crap salvage, alot more crappier salvage, and badge here and there.

has anyone another good avenue for farming purples? a zone maybe? another mission? something? when you do the flashbacks in Oro @50 do they drop purples or do they drop loot scaled @ w/e lvl you are flashbacking to?

any advice would be most excellent

ill definately have to rethink energy cloak, aside from the +def its another spot for more LotGs mostly just been farming lib, i solo them +1/+8 w/o much difficulty since im killing them fast enough to cap out on pretty much everything via inspirations. i dont see the point in trying it any higher-as i average a fair amount of purple drops, so the faster the better.

ill definately take into consideration your advice when it comes time to finalize it, ty

thx for the help. on the attacks, i agree Kinetic Combat is what i would like ideally. this is my 1st 50 redside, and my 1st 50 since ive been playing again CoX with a market to play with. but yea--the +Psi Procs too. I retooled the power selection since i last posted and ended up steering away from Overload, since ive been farming the crash is something id rather not deal with. I also left out Energy Cloak...when i farm i enjoy all the aggro and the +stealth on it is counter production when tearing thru Lib farms and whatnot. ill prolly include it Overload and Energy Cloak on the alternate build or something. The rage thing kinda bugs me, it already has plenty of recharge, and is up all the time but i still get the crash so i figure i may as well get a set bonus out of it. between FS and Electric Fences/Ball lightnning i end up with a fairly decent AOE chain. i rlly enjoy playing this toon the EnG=bad thing i havent rlly noticed, but then again i dont play to tank i play to destroy. if i wanna tank redside id of rolled a stoner. I think i am going to go hero with this one-least there a brute can be a brute and not have to worry about ppl QQing about not taking taunt lol. i do have a taunt--its called Hurl :P

more speed plz, i love it and i hate it. addictions work that way.

worst power ever? Ninja run. should have restricted...to ninja only. the stupidest looking thing in the game is a toon with ninja run on standing still, especially when its not a ninja.

soon the mini-maxxers will abandon the set and move on. i want the concept not the numbers. less DPs the better.

    here's to it remaining "sub-par" indefinately :P

my SS/ENG Brute hit 50 recently, been toying around with a fun build designed to be damage heavy with a decent defense. nothing is final and im not sure i completely understood "Mids" but i did my best. hoping someone with enough imagination, would aid me in supercharging her for maximum damage. this is my solo build, a concept . if possible id like to add Overload into it. So yea, damage/recharge/footstomp/Mu-still have a solid single-target chain, as well as sick AoE's from the Mu set. this is my first attempt at mids, aimming no higher than +1/+8 mobs.

i dont think the buffers that appear on these maps I.E. "Speed Runs" are the real issue, its the easy to kill "henchman" that are the real concern, these award insane amounts of everything and the maps can be cleared quickly with or without a team. imo, the ppl that publish these maps should use less of the buffer captives, they do little else but get in the way. i guess it doesnt matter since the devs are going to "fix" or "nerf" depending on your standing on the issue.

you rlly have to lol @ it all tho, since ive been playing this game again it never fails to amaze me how much the devs underestimate the player of this game. ppl have ALWAYS PLed in this game, no matter what they do crafty players find a way to beat the system. in the end, who do they penalize for this? the publishers creating these maps or the ppl playing these maps? keep in mind that alot of players, and by alot i mean A LOT of players on EVERY server run these maps. i dont think penalizing the players is in the devs best interest. IMO, the devs should have known this would happen when they added AE and they only have themselves to blame.

appy-polly-loggies if i jacked the thread lol

out of all the comments this one pissed me off. in a game with a population going south it seems discouraging anyone new from playing is beyond a bad idea. this was the very 1st MMO i ever played. I started on Triumph back in I3 and played thru a little past the release of Villains before i moved on to WoW. its funny tho, when somebody asks me what i think the best all around MMO is id have to say WoW, but in terms of fun and concept COH/COV wins hands down. i love fantasy swords and sorcery (old pen and paper nerd), superheroes and comics is my true bag. I play this game for that reason, and that reason alone.

    oh,

    and btw-

...aside from "of the shattered sun" which you get for a lowly amount of 1000g, and "Jenkins" which is relatively easy to get a group to do. the majority of the titles you can earn in WoW require ALOT of farming, insane rep grinds, and above all else the benefit of being in a top endgame guild that doesnt spend hours wiping/and or LFM. no i wouldnt put WoW titles in the same classroom as CoH badges. even "Explorer" the WoW standard for the CoH exploration badges, requires uncovering alot of maps. and the requirements for the "Insane" title? yea, count your lucky stars your not badge-hunting in that MMO.

  13. ok ok, look. getting a badge for spending 50 or w/e hours solo online isnt rlly what i had in mind, that would be as stupid as getting badges for NOT playing a toon, correct? but wait! you get dayjob badges doing that! why???? because heroes/villains have alter-egos...yet another concept well-known and recognized in CoH/CoV. Badges CAN be designed around solo play, and if implemented, hardcore badgers of any AT will find a way to get them. remember back when heroes used to get villians to confuse them into killing longbow in siren's call when CoV was new? and when non-support ATs w/o a heal other power take the medicine pool just to get the healing badges?

awarding solo badges would benefit the game, give players something else to work towards, none of which should be as simple as getting a badge for staying logged ingame for X amount of hours/days. awarding a badge for defeating an EB is one good idea, yet another avenue for solo badges could be to utilize those now-defunct information thingies and bringing back street-sweeping. something as simple as picking a zone and going at the mobs,, measure in defeats that stop measuring as soon as you team. to solve the problem of high-lvls ****** low-lvl zones cap them off at a lvl appropriate to the zone in which they are working. each zone can give a badge, eventually leading up to accolade maybe. hell, you could design whole story arcs for solo adventure. the possibilities are there, they can be controlled, and eventually players that are willing to put forth effort, and effort it would take b/c you wouldnt be able to farm them in teams. its all already there, it could be easily done. all it takes is story now, and everyone is happy because we get more badges to grind for. this also benefits the low-pop servers as it gives players something to do while LFT.

since when do ppl NOT want more badges? and if you don't then don't bother doing the work. i think the only reason anyone would shoot down an opportunity to earn more badges is because the actual time and effort a player would have to put forth to get them. just an idea tho, and one that adds to the atmosphere of the game AND your badge count.

When the AE badges came out people complained that you have to pretty much farm AE mishes to get some of these, so what did the devs do? Made it easier and people still complain as for the solo badge thing... there are more solo badges than team by far
how big of a team do you need to get day job badges?

Although, I would like to see a badges for pling and farming

    Farming Badges:

Hamidon Farmer: Complete 100 Hami Raids for this badge
"Nice job, even the mitos know you by your first name"

Rikti Farmer: Complete 100 Mothership Raids for this badge
"Ok we get it! leave our mothership alone!!!"

Task Force Farmer: Complete 100 tf's for this badge
"Look, I got a merit badge and I'm not even in the Boyscouts!!"

Afk Master: Spend 100 hours being afk in an AE mission
"while you were away, we got you a little something"

    PL Badges"

Front of the line: Earn this badge by getting to level 20 in 1 hour
"it's not what you know, it's who you know"

Speeding ticket: Earn this badge by getting to level 30 in 2 hours
"I play AE for the amazing content, No I really do!! lol"

Fast Track: Earn this badge for getting to level 50 in 3 hours
"Congrats you found an exploit and got this badge and got your account banned NICE!"

There is good news.... if you are not happy with this game you can always go back to wow, in fact didn't wow start doing badges as well?

    LEEROY JENKINS!!!!
very funny, however u miss my point. i could give two ***** if you'd rather PL, farm retarded sammie AE missions, or exploit exploits w/e its your time not mine. idc about AE badges, i never said i did. i SAID was you CAN earn these badges by doing little more than nothing. hell, i already have a few---i AEed my way to lvl8 (LOL) soloing created missions.

how about i make it easier for u to understand: It would be nice to get badges SOLELY based upon the idea of SOLOing aspects of the game. its an activity that almost every published comic hero/villain has spent considerable time doing in the name of saving the day or ruining it. I am truly sorry tho, if your imagination has run dry and you cannot wrap your confused little mind around this well-worn but currently ignored concept of the game.

yea something like that. tbh, tho now that i read all the responses to my suggestion i kinda feel like i didnt see all the angles to it. true, most badges are achieved thru solo play, i was thinking on more of a concept. the solo hero/villain does this or that...its not a completely alien idea. lots of comic book heroes/villains often do their thing solo. As for AE im not saying everyone is a doorsitter, but lets face it alot of people do. idk, maybe im just crazy and need to lay off the pot :P it IS kind of discouraging when all u see in Broadcast is "lfAEfarm"...maybe i need to get more channels or something.
  16. i noticed that you get badges for nearly everything you do in the game, cept for solo efforts. i know team-play is encouraged but there are some players who enjoy doing things "lone wolf" <--there's an idea --> sometimes. i honestly cannot believe there isnt one or a few already, considering you get AE badges, which is like getting rewarded for being a good PLer or doorsitting. i have recently returned to this game after about 4 years of WoW. with my brute i went from 8 to 26 soloing paper missions to get the badges needed for the "force of nature" accolade...which is alot of paper missions...i got it tho i know a few other players out there enjoy solo play, some ppl even solo TFs and AVs...FFS you even get badges for NOT playing. so why not a badge or two for the hero who works alone?
