  2. This is still going on. I just logged in and received 3 mapserver disconnections within the first 2 minutes.

    Forums are sometimes unresponsive too.
  3. Like said, I am having lots as in several dozen mapserver disconnections after I updated to I13 today (didnt play yesterday)
  4. After some fighting in union RV, I have to say that I like how the changes affect large-scale zone pvp. Since people dont die instantly its more enjoyable as a whole and feels more immersive too. Suppression seems to work ok as well, although I noticed lots of people didnt like it.

    However, Im sure serious 1v1 is going to be blown to hell. And I wont take pvp seriously anymore.

    So are you assuming that every person gets their toons stacked with IO sets? More grind for a pvp toon, thats all. OR inbalance between one who has them and one who hasnt if you are assuming that the sets are necessary.

    I can tell you that I stopped subbing instead of being arsed with IOs.

    Lets introduce more GOALS that force people to play the same lackluster pve game longer instead of introducing meaningful game mechanics that keep people enjoying the ride more.. Thats how IOs were.

    I think addressing that issue would require alot more time and effort but would improve the balance more so than tweaking suppression values, and would allow for suppression to be removed from pvp entirely then just increase the endurance cost of travel powers.

    Before that ED [censored] up a lot of peoples characters.

  12. I think that fast paced movement as people call it, is indeed a unique aspect of COH pvp.

    However, I feel it also made pvp bit bland because basically all pvp characters had to utilize same movement powers and slotting to be any good. There were very few exceptions to combat jumping/SJ+SS. To be honest I got bored about it. Especially since no PvE builds would have movement slotting to that extent. This created a major gap between PvE and PvP builds which may now be made smaller.
  13. Im very much alienated from the game anyway so if anything these changes might bring me back to test them, but they sure change pvp completely.

    The reason why pvp reward system has been avoided like plaque is that unless its made really carefully, it will be trivially exploitable. Ever used alts?

    ps. Those changes look at first glance like they arrived from Mars in a spaceshuttle.

    To be honest, I quite enjoy PvP occasionally. The real problem is ganking and overpoweredness can kill the enjoyment factor completely. When coupled with player attitudes of "It's a PvP zone, deal with it" it can be incredibly frustrating, especially when they're singling the more vocal players out just to be an annoyance.

    You are not having problems with any COH-related issues, youre having problem with MMO PVP and how it is implemented. There are lots of issues that make MMO PVP inherently unbalanced and which people choose to be blind of repeatedly. And then they complain about obvious issues.

    - MMORPG is meant to be multiplayer. Result: in PVP you get One versus Many 'ganks'. Nothing you can do about it, except bring a bigger mob with you to fight.

    - MMORPG is RPG, its about 'improving' a character, growing in levels, getting better items etc. Result: In PVP you will get veteran, 'uber', buffed to the limit characters versus weak beginner characters. Nothing you can do about it, apart from improving your character and in the process waste more time with the game that you pay for. Nothing to do with balance. Its just something every MMO player takes for granted.

    If you can clear above hurdles, THEN you may get somewhere where player skill is a factor, but 95% of the time above issues just fudge it all up.

    For instance, it never ceases to amaze me why nearly everybody who isnt very good at pvp, insists on PVPing at the level limit, in Recluses victory and so on, even though they know thats when the characters are at the height of the unbalance.. Characters are stocked full with IOs and what not. Why fight there? Because everybody WANTS that their CHARACTER is so uber, that they get the win. Then they INSIST that its about skill when they win...even though most of the time its anything but. They are just replacing the lack of skill with the characters powers.

    Majority of playerbase arent actually interested about improving their skill. They just want easy wins. This isnt bad in itself...but when they start bragging that they win with their skill..phaugh.

    I never manage to understand some people.
