It'll probably be a pain in the butt for them to put in multiple object choices for the Medicine pool, but I'd demand nothing less.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Demand?

    Good luck with that.

    Try asking.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I just want to take a second to thank you guys for being so positive and excited about this feature that's consumed so much of my life for so long. It's been a very long haul and tremendous amount of work from many people on the team. Your excitement about this feature is making it so much easier for me to continue to be excited about it, and that's making it a lot nicer to get through the final stretches of finishing this issue up and into your hands. I can't speak for the other people who've done a tremendous amount of work on this feature as well, but for me personally...it's a huge deal.

The handful of non-glowing responses I've seen have been very reasonable and more in the realm of disappointed but still understanding. For that I'm exceedingly grateful.

So thanks for staying positive and constructive, it makes reading the forums so much easier and working on this game so much more rewarding.

    [/ QUOTE ]

BaBs, even though I was almost certain this feature was coming (and had predicted it for some time, once the team was starting to get remped up in size), I can tell you, I'm completely psyched about the implementation. It's exceeded my expectations in many ways.

*I was expecting one color (though hoping for 2)... we got 2.
*I was expecting we'd pick our color(s) for each power-set... we get to pick them for (almost) each power.
*I was expecting color-choices would be on a per-character basis... we got per-costume basis.

Great job, especially given the sheer amount of powers/fx you had to change.

    Thank you.

    ...

    ...

    ...

Now GIT BACK TO WORK ON THE REST OF THE POWERS (INCLUDING EPICS/PPPs & POWER POOLS)!!!

Also, thanks to srmalloy for all the info.

    Noted.

I still don't believe anything like this is necessary.

Would be nice if you looked at Viligance. I know the Defender community is a much quieter, easy to please bunch but if any inherent needs an ounce of dev time is Viligance. It is appallingly bad.

    Sorry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oddly, as someone who plays a lot of defenders (more so than any other hero AT), I like Vigilance. But I also team almost all the time and tend to play with all-out-balls-to-the-walls teams where I'm using powers non-stop. The fact that I never have to worry about endurance, w/o slotting things like Numinas and Miracles, makes me very, very happy.

There was one largish email sent out on 7/16 at about noon.

    The topics included were:
[*]Head Topic: Issue 16, Power Spectrum announcement[*]Going Rogue update[*]Double XP announcement (no clear indication of reactivation weekend)[*]Super Booster III now available announcement[*]City of Heroes "Summer Tour" announcement - SDCC, PAX and HeroCon info[*]Miscellaneous links and help.

    No Ritki announcement was sent.

The email was sent from: newsletter@ncsoft.com as the sending address.

It was actually received from: newsletter.newzyouwant.com (rs1.netatlantic.com [69.25.195.202])

Thunderbird had to be informed that no, it was not a scam.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't get this one. Yes, I'm signed up to receive newsletters from NCSoft. Yes, my correct e-mail address is listed in my account. All known NCSoft e-mail addresses are on my white list. The newzyouwant.com address is on my white list, too, because I'd read that the original Going Rogue e-mails came from that address. (But I didn't get those either.) Besides that, I regularly check my e-mail's spam folder before deleting it anyway.

I'm not getting some NCSoft e-mails, and there's no reason on my end for why that's happening.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Same.

But, honesty, I've been fighting this battle for almost 2 years now. Had many a go-around with LH about it.

Clearly, this is not a priority for NCSoft or Paragon Studios. I can't come up with any other reason why they continue to pretend it's our problem, even when it's been proven over and over again that in many cases it is not.

But I guess there's a part of me that hopes that Nivie or Ocho will have a new, responsible attitude about it.

    Great news

For those not recieving E-mails Follow the Ochos post here particiluarly step 5.

At some point it got set for me opting out of E-mails, I dont recall doing so, but making sure that box was checked sort my issue out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Been there, done that.
    Doesn't cut it.

I have done every possible thing I can do on my end.... multiple times. The problem is on their end, not ours... and has been for almost 2 years now.

... If we've been having issues with getting NC mail, what then? I have to wonder, because the only NC emails I've been getting are my bug reports and petitions in the live game. Nothing whatsoever other than those.

I understand the conceptual reasons for wanting higher single-target damage, but when it comes to separating Tankers from Scrappers and Brutes, I believe AoE is the way to go.

Still, nice try by Starsman. As I said, let me know if you have any other ideas.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know nobody, Including Starsman, needs, nor necessarily even wants your approval, right? Especially on the topic of tankers. Taking the attitude of "I oppose any buff that doesn't make my tank "super enough" by my standards" over and over again has pretty much guaranteed that.

Let me spell it out for you:

You will never get what you want out of a tanker, unless you temper your expectations.

Or, for that matter out of any class/AT in any game that cares about balance and quality.

First, I'm not advocating Tankers hit at high as Brutes at peak damage. Speaking purely conceptually, it should be lower than that but higher than a Scrapper's damage though.

I'm mostly disappointed because I was hoping that vet rewards would eventually stop at some point. 5 years seemed the best place. As it is, there's no way I can ever catch up to get the new rewards. I've been around since release, but I had no way of knowing at the time that if I stayed subscribed I'd be able to get stuff.

[u]Makes it worse when new stuff comes out and there are rewards I actually WANT, but I can't get, and will NEVER be able to catch up to.[u]

    [/ QUOTE ]

This, emphasis mine. This will sound bitter, but can VR stop already? For many people, there are only so many years they can spend in a game, also for different reasons other than growing tired of it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you should be rewarded for that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. But if you played since first beta and had to stop playing for some periods for reasons against your will, once you'e back to the game you'll never be able to reach some of the high-end rewards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only true when the game comes to an end. And at that point... who cares?!?

I think after 5+ years of non stop play, we should get a vet power than can auto lvl a character by 10 lvls, to be used at any time. I mean really...after 5+ years I think we earned that.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I disagree.
One of the nicest things about this game is that there are Vets playing low level characters around to help those who are playing the game for the first time. If this is put in, than you will effectively kill that angle.

I'd love to know how many people actually qualify for the 63 month badge on the first possible day. (Which, I think discount bugs, would be 7/27?)

Some very good guesses here on the powers, but Earth Assault will be a very melee heavy set. Also opted for the regular Hurl boulder Animation, since the Propel Boulder animation uses the full 3.5 second long propel animation. Now I may be a huge fan of propel for my grav doms/Trollers, but the thought of having 2 versions of it didn't seem too fun.

If I can't change out the geometry for Spines then forget about it.

Just say no to banana melee!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apart from Spines being able to use the geometry from Thorns, and Thorns being able to use the geometry from Spines (both of which can be colored), there will be at least one other set of alternate geometry/FX.

As for Martial Arts, the alternate animations we have right now are mainly punches. The idea was to provide you guys with a way to make the classic, fights with their fists and feet, super-hero that many have been asking for. That includes a new animation for assassin's strike (Assassin's Blow?).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is largely what I expected (though the addition of the new spines geometry is an unexpected, but welcome addition). This is sounding very good.

Stalker - Shields or fire melee

    [/ QUOTE ]
Shields doesn't mesh with most stalkers sets or the stalker theme. Fire melee functionally double but breaks theme since how stealthy is a man on fire?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where there's fire, there's smoke...and smoke hides just as well as being invisible. I could easily see a Fiery Melee or Fiery Aura Stalker work. Especially if Placate and Hide involved vanishing into a swirling mass of smoke and embers, and then reappearing in a sudden blazing flash when you strike, like a backdraft.

That could be pretty darn cool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds more like a "smoke" defensive set than a "fire" defensive set. But regardless, it sounds cool, and I know I'd want to play it.

    Bull[WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS].

There is a world of difference between a well-reasoned argument against, or complaint with the game and the type of ranting that is common here, and has been displayed in this thread specifically.

Anyone not understanding that needs to seriously re-examine their understanding of social interactions.

This booster pack is a total rip off. They are charging $10 to do something that should have been built into the tailor to begin with.

Frankly, I don't see how you guys can stand for this.

The costume sucks. The animations are cool, but the gender change? THat should have been available all along.

MC Soft = Sony now I guess...no, wait...at least Sony gives you a bigger world with each paid expansion...and more levels.

RIP OFF for a a bunch of suckers.

More and more, I'm disliking the way things are turning in htis game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

More and more I'm disliking all the whining, [WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS] and moaning that goes on in the game and on the boards.

If you're comparing a $10 competely optional add-on to a $30-$40+ full expansion then you're in no position to make any intelligent judgment of the people that do like it.
