Could we please get some rethinking done on the "No Badge Credit for Mobs in Mission Architect Missions" thing? There is no practical reason why they shouldn't give badge credit for Defeat badges.
It would DEFINITELY ease things Villainside for things like Weatherman, Regenerator, and the other hair-pulling-must-farm badges.
Of course, I realize this is falling on deaf ears, but I would be remiss if I didn't ask.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can understand people wanting a better way to get some of the harder badges, but I'm not sure I want to wade through a ton of badge missions in the MA to get to the ones that have a cool story. -

Hmm, do my eyes decieve me? Is there nothing new?
(No problem if there isnt)
[/ QUOTE ]
It does look that way. I'm not exactly disappointed, but I'm a little surprised. The Halloween and Winter events both got significant upgrades. Maybe there is a surprise in store for us?
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't the Valentine Event get some new stuff last year? I wasn't really expecting anything new this year. Maybe next time. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, I had heard the concerns of a few vocal badge aficionados, and I fell on the wrong side of the argument (its amazing, but sometimes being insulted makes you feel MORE right than you probably should).
[/ QUOTE ]
I think there's a lesson in there for us players. -
[ QUOTE ]
There is a entire server that is messed up and near unplayable at points and all some of you can do is cry about a digital shiney?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everyone plays on Virtue. I play on Victory which is where I noticed the day jobs bug. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's actually old news........
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? Because I remember being told that our created missions wouldn't become canon. I'm pretty sure the Dev's Choice thing isn't the same as our missions becoming canon.
I could be wrong, though. -
Today's patch did something weird with the Day Jobs. I created a new character and right when she popped up in Atlas I got a notice that I was at my first day job location... even though I wasn't. I kept noticing a day job icon flash in my icon bar as I ran around. And when I switched to a villain I saw multiple day job icons appear at once. It didn't impact the game at all, but I just thought it was weird.

This part caught my attention:
[ QUOTE ]
He adds that the Mission Architect stories you write will be distinct from the games storyline, unless we the developers want it to be part of the official canon. Thats the ultimate goal for any mission writer: Make a story so good and so fitting in the City of Heroes universe that it becomes part of the game lore itself.
[/ QUOTE ]
That surprised me. From the info we've heard before, I was under the impression that the missions we create will never become canon. But Positon's quote contradicts that.
Hmmmm.... -
[ QUOTE ]
I hope future Packs are much more fully realized than this latest offering.
[/ QUOTE ]
This isn't like the Cyborg Pack. That was intentially created as a booster pack. These items were given as bonus extras to people using the Mac client and they can be purchased by the PC users.
[ QUOTE ]
(Are the wings and cape from the costume set available at level one, like the combat auras -- or do they need to be unlocked?)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you can have those items at level one. -

But there are many facts that suggest issue 14 will have more besides the Architect.
Please consider the following, if you would:
The Architect was originally slated for issue 13 release with other features like day jobs, PvP revamping, and more Cimerora content.
This leads us to conclude that other stuff was planned for i14 release as well, since it wasn't originally to include the Architect.
And I cannot recall an announced issue that contained merely 1 feature. (The closest was when we were surprised with Pocket D almost 2 years ago. Sometimes I think of that as issue 6.5.)
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think that's correct. When they announced that the Mission Architect would be split off, they said they were seperating what was I13 into two seperate issues. So I think that means the current I14 is actually more like I13.5. What was going to be in I14 was moved to I15.
But that's not to say we won't be getting more than the Architect in I14. I just don't expect to get a lot. The less they have in I14, the less time it will take. Then they can get it out quickly and get to work on I15 which is supposed to come out sometime around the 5th anniversary. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this (19 pages is a lot to [not] read through) but I'm pretty stoked that I got free trial accounts in Lineage II and Guild Wars. I know, I probably could have gotten them anyways, but it was just a nice unexpected bonus.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that was a cool bonus too. I've wanted to try a trial if Lineage II for awhile, but I couldn't find a trial anywhere on their site. -
[ QUOTE ]
I know i may be in the minority here but I am not egarly awaiting Mission Architect... I am sorely disappointed that is going to be the only feature of i14...
I was really hoping for something more... maybe i am just a little burnt out and that is making my view jaded, dont know... but I was at least hoping for some Power Proliferation at least... heck anything would do... AR for defenders or whatever...
[/ QUOTE ]
Think of it this way: What will the devs who are not involved with the Mission Architect be doing while others are working on I14? I'm betting that they'll be working on the stuff that'll be in I15 which has been hinted to be a high content issue. -
Cool. I hope this brings more players to the game.
Great job, devs! -
The new website is no longer freezing up IE6 for me. Whoo-hoo!
-
[ QUOTE ]
Hm. While IE6 is no longer the current version, it still has a substantial installationn base. Something to look into to see if it can be fixed, Lighthouse.
Out of curiosity, are those of you running IE6 able to view Tabula Rasa's website successfully?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I can access the TR site just fine.
And I can access other pages like the Issues page Lemur_Lad linked to but then going to the front page freezes me up again. -

My work comp doesn't seem to like the new website. It freezes up IE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you open IE and go to the Help menu item and then to the "About Internet Explorer" item from that drop down menu and list for us which version of IE you are browsing the website with?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm having the exact same problem and my version is IE 6. It loads up the background picture and then IE freezes. I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out of it. -

NCSoft gets the same amount of money regardless of how much you play. I'm fairly certain you at least must be subscribed to the game in order to get offline rewards. And as much as I like this feature, none of the rewards come close to reaching the same amount of reward that I get from actually playing the game.
While some people might play less, my guess is that for most people, if they are at all affected by this feature, it will be only in the location where they log off.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. My biggest change is where I decide to log off my main characters.
The only other change for me coming from this is a reason to play some of my alts more frequently. Some of my alts are getting up to 150 days since last played. So now I can dust them off and maybe even spend an hour playing them.
And I really don't forsee the servers becoming ghost towns because of this feature. -
Very cool. I like vBulletin forums a lot so I see this as a huge improvement.

[ QUOTE ]
I guess you need a DoT toggle or some power on to get them to jump out of the water like the lava dudes do also.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if you're too high a level for them to aggro on you. My level 7 can get them to pop up just by getting too close. -
[ QUOTE ]
I just want to add that not only do villains get Darrin Wade's arc from 20-30, but it's, IMO, the best arc in I12 on both sides. In fact I'd say it's one of the best arcs in the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I totally agree! I did this arc several times on test. Now that it's live I've copied some of my characters onto test so I can do the last two missions over and over. I love it!
This arc definately goes on my list of arcs to do on every single villain I play. I have a bunch of level 2 villains I created as concept alts that I'm now going to level to 20 just to do that arc.
Hmm... think I'll get tired of doing that over and over? Nah! -
Those story arcs sound really fun. And I like the idea of contextual dialogue.
-
I love this costume creator change! There has been several times where I've wanted to put the entire set on my character to see how it looks and then make changes from there. But too many times I had trouble finding all the various pieces (some are not where you think they'd be). So I'm very excited about this change.
Like before, I won't be using the Real Number feature because it doesn't interest me, but it's a wonderful feature for those who do like that stuff. And it's neat that they're letting us see how a power grows as we gain levels. -
[ QUOTE ]
lol for your information, I play heroes also. My guess, is much like many others posting here, you spend zero time playing on the villain side. It's obvious enough that the heroes clearly got the better end of this deal, by a long shot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I play villain side a lot and I haven't seen this problem everyone is talking about. I have a lot of fun playing my villains. I should point out that I'm not a PvPer or a min/maxer. Is that why I'm not noticing it? -
[ QUOTE ]
This is fun! I want to hear more whining like this. Whos with me?
NEXT PROLIFERATION REVEALED:
Villains
Brutes: Pillow Armor + Sock Puppet Melee
Corruptors: Fingers Shaped Like A Gun Pretending To Blast + Trick Arrow

Stalkers: Pie Assault, Food Fight Melee + Armour Hot Dog
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, I really want all those now. Can you imagine how fun a pie-based attack would be? In fact, I think Pie Throwing should be a Corrupter set.
And don't knock Origami Assault. Flatman once held Deadpool to a stalemate with his Origami-Fu. -
Okay, I thought it would be fun to go through all the ATs and come up with a new concept character for each that uses at least one of these new powersets.

PsychFire Energy/Mental Manipulation The same accident that granted him blasts of energy heightened his sense and gave him some slight psychic abilities. (Concept might change when we find out more about that set).

Tommy Terreli Thugs/Storm An old mobster who stole a weather controlling device and decided to make a name for himself.
Scrapper:
Hotfingers Fire/Willpower An inventor who created phosphorus gloves to use in battle.

Storm Masterminds will Rule.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. And it makes me wonder if this means the next MM primary will have something to do with the elements.
