    . Dark Sustenence: A great power when teaming, makes your human form stronger for every nearby teamate.

    Slotting: Nothing (can't slot)
    Combat Log: This power will help you tremendously in teams. If you team with Tankers or Defenders, you'll get a human form offense bonus. If you team with Blasters or Scrappers, you'll get a defense bonus. Teaming with Controllers is the most helpful I think because it gives you mez protection. If you are on big teams, it might be better to stay Human 90% of the time.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I didn't read much of this but I wanted to address this in particular because it is a common mistake.

    Dark Sustenance for Warshades and Cosmic Balance for Peacebringers are inherent powers. They do not take a power choice and cannot be slotted (like Gauntlet for Tankers, Vigilance for Defenders, Defiance for Blasters, etc.). For Warshades, Dark Sustenance gives a Damage Resistance bonus for each Defender and Tanker and a Damage bonus for each Blaster and Scrapper on the team (the "sustenance"). For Peacebringers it is the opposite; Damage Resistance for Blasters and Scrappers, Damage for Tankers and Defenders (the "balance"). Both types of Kheldians get a low level of Mez Protection for each Controller on the team, but it is cumulative. The team mates must be in range to receive the bonuses, which is about the same as Side-kick range, and this bonus only applies while in human form, not in Nova or Dwarf.

    Absorption is not exactly an inherent power; it is the first power in the Kheldians' Secondary Power Sets.

    This guide indicates a -Acc debuff effect or something for Warshade attacks, which is not the case. Many Warshade attacks have a slow component which can stack with each other, while Peacebringers have a defense reduction componenet, which also stacks. Also, slotting for the mires, I personally would slot for Recharge and two-slot for Acc. If you take Hasten, you can skip some Recharge slotting in some powers like Stygian Circle and Sunless Mire. Though I almost never engage in PvP, this guide seems to suggest a lot of single slotting for Acc, but everywhere else I see players suggest at least two Acc in every attack.

    There is other stuff--including improper names for powers--but this stood out to me.

    I missed this:

    1. Dark Nova Fly: The only non supressed fly in game, and faster then the travel power.

    Slotting: Fly or Nothing
    Combat Log: The only unsurpressable fly in the game. Very good for ariel fights, and for sneaking up on your foe.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    For Clarification: To slot to enhance Nova's flight, you must put the slots in Nova Form in the Primary Power Set. The power can also be slotted with End Mod, To Hit Buff and End Reduction (End Mod works as a fairly weak Stamina, but is noticable). When the Nova power is selected when you level up, all four Nova attacks are included (the same applies for Dwarf Form and its powers).

    People would probably be much better off reading any of the player guides for Kheldians before using this guide.
  2. Mantid has animated these. (Thanks to Golden_Ace for pointing that out)

    Flypose1 -- two arms straight forward
    Flypose2 -- right fist forward, left fist near shoulder
    Flypose3 -- both arms held straight at a wide angle
    Flypose4 -- both arms bent and slightly forward
  3. This is meant to be a very simple, at-a-glance guide to help people who don't want to do a lot of analysis.
  4. This is meant for people who might not be familiar with macros and keybinds but want to use the different flight positions.

    What was originally posted makes use of all the new flight positions with a single button in a power tray or a single key. It doesn't require any significant knowledge of keybinds and how to call keybind files--which can be problematic just to get them working, let alone dealing with the lag they can cause.
  5. Added in the accurate numbers provided by Bowfling and Plasma and fixed the errors pointed out by BStix. Thanks for the help and catch, gang.

    I also added the numbers for six-slotting IO's.

    [ QUOTE ]

    Obviously this will turn out to be a much more complicated evaluation process when factoring in full set bonuses, but this is a good start on straight up %s and ED.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Some people mentioned that they were having trouble understanding ED in general so I offered to make a little guide. The Set IO's are more than I would want to tackle.
  6. It seems that the system remembers which pose you used last and will cycle through them from the last pose used: If you used flypose3 last and you are not flying, pressing it once will put you in the "old" pose, the second press would put you in flypose4 and subsequent presses would continue to cycle through them.
  7. This is meant to be a brief overview of how Enhancement Diversification (ED) will affect Single Origin (SO), Invention Origin (IO) and Hamidon (HO) Enhancements. This will focus on using even level enhancements, i.e, a level 50 character using level 50 enhancements. Training Origin (TO) and Dual-Origin (DO) usually will not be affected by ED because of the relatively small percentages they enhance. This is for Common/Basic IO's; this does NOT take into account Set IO's. IO's cannot be combined to make + or ++ IO's. Common IO's only exist between L10 and L50 with five level increments (10, 15, 20...40, 45, 50).

    Using Acc, Dam, Heal percentages:
    (This applies similarly for Resist Dam, Def, etc.)

    SO:
    First SO: 33.3% (full enhancement)
    Second SO: 66.7% total (full enhancement of 33.3%--hidden rounding)
    Third: 95% total (ED applies, adding 28.3%)
    Fourth: 100% total (ED applies, adding 5%--less than a TO)
    Fifth: 105% (ED applies, less than a TO)
    Sixth: 110% (ED applies, less than a TO)

    IO:
    First L50 IO: 42.4%
    Second L50 IO: 83.3% (adding 40.9%, lower than 3x SO's, but ED already applies)
    Third IO: 99.1% (adding 15.8%)
    Fourth IO: 105.5% (adding 6.4%, less than a TO)
    Fifth IO: 111.9% (adding 6.4%, less than a TO--hidden rounding)
    Sixth IO: 118.2% (adding 6.4%, less than a TO)

    HO and SO:
    One Nucleolus: Acc/Dam, 33.3%/33.3%
    One ACC SO: +33.3% = 66.7% total ACC
    Second ACC SO: +30.3% = 95% total ACC
    One DAM SO: +33.3% = 66.7% total ACC
    Second DAM SO: +30.3% = 95% total ACC

    HO and IO:
    One Nucleolus: 33.3%/33.3% Acc/Dam
    One ACC IO: +41.9% = 75.2% total ACC
    Second ACC IO: +22.6% = 97.6% total ACC
    One DAM IO: +41.9% = 75.2% total DAM
    Second DAM IO: +22.6% = 97.6% total DAM

    For reference, IO's:
    Acc, Dam, Heal, etc.
    L10 = 11.7%
    L15 = 19.2%
    L20 = 25.6%
    L25 = 32.0%
    L30 = 34.8%
    L35 = 36.7%
    L40 = 38.6%
    L45 = 40.5%
    L50 = 42.4%

    Dam Resist, Def, etc.
    L10 = 7.0%
    L15 = 11.5%
    L20 = 15.4%
    L25 = 19.2%
    L30 = 20.9%
    L35 = 22.0%
    L40 = 23.2%
    L45 = 24.3%
    L50 = 25.5%

    (Numbers provided by Bowfling and Plasma):
    For Schedule A (Acc, Dam, Heal, etc):

    TO: 8.33%
    DO: 16.66%
    SO: 33.33%

    For Schedule B (Defense Buff, Defense Debuff, Resist Damage, etc):

    TO: 5%
    DO: 10%
    SO: 20%

    Three-slotting SO's gives 95% total enhancement. Replacing just one of those with an IO gives about 0.6% additional enhancement (i.e., one IO and two SO). Most people would agree that that is not significant and would be low on the list for slotting with IO's. However, slotting only two IO's for that particular effect would allow additional slotting options like Accuracy, Recharge Reduction, Endurance Reduction, Interrupt Reduction, Hold Duration, etc.

    Hamidon Origin (HO) give SO level boosts to multiple aspects of a power. For example, a L50 Nucleolus Exposure gives a 33.3% boost to Accuracy and a 33.3% boost to damage. ED applies when two SO or even ONE IO is added for either damage or accuracy.

    Recipes, IO's and levels:

    The level of a Recipe determines the level of the IO; the level of the character does not affect the IO in any way. The percentage of enhancement is fixed by the enhancement's level ONLY. A level 50 can slot any level IO. A level 50 would get the exact same benefit from using a L35 IO (36.7) as a level 32 character. A level 31 character could not slot a L35 or higher enhancement of any kind (TO, SO, IO). The lowest level for an IO is L10.

    The percentage boost for all Common/Basic IO's can be found by looking at the Recipes in any Invention Table at a University or using the Base Invention Table. It costs Inf to buy a Recipe from a table. It costs Inf to create an IO, as well as consumes the Recipe and Salvage needed. Some invention Badges reduce the Inf cost and do not require a Recipe for creating some IO's.

    Edit: Added accurate numbers for TO's and DO's provided by Bowfling and Plasma.
  8. The only temp power I had to check this with is Raptor Pack from the Atlas Park Mayhem/Safeguard mission and it does work. I would expect it to work with any other clone of Fly as long as you put the exact name as it appears in your Power list. (It also works for any other toggles such as Unyielding, for those of you who are new to macros/keybinds.)
  9. The fly poses are functional on live servers with Issue 9.

    Typing this in the chat window will make a Macro which is a button that shows up in your power tray labeled "Fly" and you can click like any other power. (However, the button does not change size so does not offer any kind of reference for powers that recharge.) You can change "Fly" to anything you want, but only a short word will be readable.

    /macro Fly "$$e flypose4$$e flypose3$$e flypose2$$e flypose1$$autorun 1$$powexectoggleON Fly"

    To make it so pressing a key will do the same thing, change the first two words where "F" is the name of any key you want to use. If you make a mistake with this, you can go into the Options menu to rebind any of the common keys.

    /bind F "$$e flypose4$$e flypose3$$e flypose2$$e flypose1$$autorun 1$$powexectoggleON Fly"

    For Peacebringers, instead of using "$$powexectoggleON Fly", use "$$powexectoggleON Energy Flight".

    Pressing this macro/button once will turn on Fly and put you in the default, "old" pose (which is why it takes more than one press to get into one of the new poses) and set your character to autorun (move forward automatically). Pressing it repeatedly after that will cycle through the new flight poses without making you stop flying and keep you moving forward. Note that the poses execute in reverse order, which is why I listed pose 4 first. To stop moving, just tap whatever button you use to move forward or backward once.

    For the Macro, you can right-click the button in your power tray to edit any part of the macro except for the name so if there are any poses you don't like, just edit it out of the macro; you don't need to delete the entire macro. If you want a new name for your button, you need to re-enter the original command and use the name you want instead of "Fly". You can delete any macro from your tray, but you cannot automatically retrieve it. (For much, much more information on Keybinds and Macros.)

    The flyposes are:

    flypose1 -- two arms straight forward; the "I" formation
    flypose2 -- right fist forward, left fist near left shoulder; the flying "J"?
    flypose3 -- both arms held forward at a wide angle; the flying "Y"
    flypose4 -- both arms bent slightly and held out to the sides; he flying "W"?

    The flyposes are actually emotes and can be entered as an emote at any time while flying by typing: /e flypose1. Currently, these poses cannot be activated while using Hover, but you can activate them while using Fly, then turn on Hover; Hover will not interrupt the poses. I do not know of a command for what is currently the default flypose (both arms back) but it is still the default pose.

    I have no idea if this works with Group Fly or Group Energy Flight; any takers?
  10. I pretty much play solo only. I almost always start in Galaxy and I always seem to be sent to Wincott by my first contact in Kings' Row (four times last week). I just visit Wincott right after I train to Level 5, don't take any missions from him and continue with my other contacts.

    But if you still want to unlock the Cavern of Transcendence Trial, just return to the Hollows right when you get to L14 and you can skip or easily clear all the missions needed to unlock the contact that offers that Trial. (You might want to auto-complete the Frost Fire mission.) So long as you do all the Hollows content solo and at Heroic you should have no problem unlocking the Trial before out-leveling the contacts. I believe you can still do the content at L15, but a character at L16 would out-level the Hollows.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    <qr>

    All I have to say is, I don't care if Ultimus can solo the LRSF in 17 seconds. I don't want to see nerfs, and I don't want to see limits on repeatability. I don't care if someone can solo AVs, and I don't care if he can farm IOs at a rate that absolutely horrifies people. I just want to enjoy the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    The sad thing is that some people are quite vocal with their anger about people being able to solo in various contexts (some are angry because they see it as a lack of resources when they want/need a team to do the same content) and the use of Shivans. The final decision is in the hands of the developers, though, and I don't have much appreciation for their decision-making capabilities. Again, I'm more frustrated that there is such a need to use Shivans to do things than that people are using them.
  12. Opinions of Ultimus's motives should be set aside: He's bringing up a valid point about the ability of people to farm Task/Strike Forces which would lead to a glut of "rare" Designs (Recipes is a cheesy choice for a term, in my opinion). This would lead to some kind of action by the devs which, based on the past, would lead to the worst possible solution for the problem.

    Hopefully, they will come to their senses and decide to limit one Design drop per 12-24 hours from a single Task/Strike Force which should not affect the Design drop rate from the completion of other Task/Strike Forces. For example, If you do Synapse's Task Force and get a Design to drop, you should immediately be able to run the Villain Respec Trial and still have the exact same chance to get a Design drop. If you try to run Synapse twice in a row, however, you would not have a chance for a second Design drop upon success. Don't they have this in place for the LRSF currently? Plus, they plan on doing this with the new proposed Hamidon Encounters.

    Leave the Shivans exactly as they are: Casual and well-informed players, alike, should be able to use them since AV's and EB's seem impossible to balance based on the Archetype used to fight them. I can solo EB's with my Tanker, but have a hard time with most of them with my Corruptor. The argument about what is considered "soloing an AV" can continue into infinity as far as I'm concerned as I couldn't care less. I play for fun, not to do math, bully people nor want to cause someone physical harm because they programmed NPC's to stun my characters for a ridiculous amount of time while making AV's nearly immune to controls. It's more frustrating that Shivans have become so needed than that everyone is using them.

    There, I fixed it for you.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    The toga doesn't render in the SG costume colours window.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Frequently, when you make a change to costumes but only change things once (you know exactly what you want and don't try different things to see how they look before applying the changes) the SG window doesn't recognize the changes. If you change each section a few times before making your costume the way you actually want it, the changes should work right. For example, if you want to make a costume with a toga, first change to Armored, change the pattern, then set the top to Toga. It might work if you just change the colors of the item a few times, but I haven't tried that.

    It's annoying as heck, though, and I hope they issue costume tokens to accomodate these issue but I doubt they will: With the addition of costume change tokens and Respecs through Veteran rewards, I highly doubt that we will see these being given out, even though I really don't see how giving out free costume change tokens and free respecs occassionally would be detrimental to the game. (That's just an observation and an opinion.)
  14. I am only posting here in case any new players see this: This information is not of much use unless you are playing a Spines Scapper. Even then, the usefulness is questionable.

    If the original poster had separated his own opinion somehow, such as with Bold type or as a separate paragraph after each Power, then I might say this is a good place to read the descriptions of the powers as they appear in the game. I'm not saying the poster is a weenie or an idiot, I am only saying this guide is not useful for new players because it is all extremely subjective opinion.

    Again, any new players should avoid using this post for any useful information.

    Edit: The post also fails to mention how some powers synergize with each other such as Hurdle/Combat Jumping, Hurdle/Super Jump, Swift/Hurdle, Swift/Fly and Stealth/Super Speed. This not a useful guide, it's just an opinion post.
  15. Not exclusively for Hamidon but "Jello Shooters" is the place to be (or some other hip, trendy phrase). It's a public channel so no invitation is needed. Also, the raids are usually announced here on the forums.
  16. I just don't see why they can't make it a Level one enemy, give it hundreds of thousands for health, 10,000% regeneration and no knockback resistance. Any character with Knockback in their powers would knock it pretty far--even a level one Blaster with Power Thrust. Some characters wouldn't have any knockback powers? Make a temp power that does little or no damage but causes only knockback and only to "Objects".

    I might not be seeing the whole situation since I haven't gotten much sleep but I think that would work. It wouldn't have to consider particles, maybe just ragdoll physics. It might not roll perfectly, but I think it would be good enough.
  17. I meant without a chat line entry. I should have been more clear...or something. But thanks.

    You could at least do something useful and find that command for setting the search flag to the new "Not Accepting invites!"

    [That was meant to be humorous. I see you being helpful a lot. Well, sometimes.]
  18. You can't load a ready-to-use macro into the game, but you can make it easier on yourself. I have a bind in my regular keybind file which loads a file that has a list of specific keybinds and another that loads a file that clears all of these commands so these macros don't put me at the maximum number of binds.

    As an example of what I do, I have Macros for all the inspirations which I use for all of my characters in a file called Macros.txt in the CoH piggs folder. They are listed like this:

    ALT+NUMPAD1 "$$macro DEF <inspexec_name PHENOMENAL LUCKinspexec_name GOOD LUCKinspexec_name LUCK>"

    This makes a single button with the "<" and ">" in the command line. I just delete those and add in the dollar signs where needed. Makes it a lot easier for making a new character.

    If you want to make a single bind to create multiple macro buttons, just add more $$macro entries like this:

    CTRL+NUMPAD7 "$$macro Togg <powexec_name SPRINTpowexectoggleON COMBAT JUMPING>$$macro T-off <powexectoggleOFF FLYpowexectoggleOFF SPRINTpowexectoggleOFF SUPER JUMP>"

    This creates two buttons, but you still have to edit the command line in each button after they are created for the correct syntax. As far as I can tell, this is only limited by the maximum length of a single bind entry. This bind creates eight buttons:

    CTRL+NUMPAD1 "$$macro TM1 <team_select 1>$$macro TM2 <team_select 2>$$macro TM3 <team_select 3>$$macro TM4 <team_select 4>$$macro TM5 <team_select 5>$$macro TM6 <team_select 6>$$macro TM7 <team_select 7>$$macro TM8 <team_select 8>"

    Now, does anyone know what the command is for setting your search flag to the new "Not Accepting invites!" and the regular "Not Seeking"?
  19. Every message that comes up in your chat window should show who sent it and what channel it's on. The global channels should show the actual name of the channel along with the message so you should be able to tell fairly easily what channels you are seeing in those tabs. As Riverdancer indicated, make sure you have the channels enabled in the tabs. And make sure the tab is active by clicking on the tab itself. I think the active tab is indicated by being a green tab.

    And recently my global channels would somehow be removed from some tabs, though this only happened for a short while and hasn't happened since. It doesn't seem like that is your problem, but there may be another glitch somewhere out there ...

    XP and I5

    How about, when receiving a team invite, displaying the mission name, number of heroes currently in team [possibly including archetypes], and level of heroes such as highest and lowest or at least the level of the leader. If you could actually display the names of the characters, that would be especially effective so one could avoid re-teaming with someone you never want to see again.

    If this has already been mentioned, I apologize [but I still think it's worth another mention]. It seem that this might help avoid some debting issues [and a heckuvalotta annoyance for me]. I think the current exp system is good enough, though I haven't been playing all that long. I just hate getting on a team with people that just do whatever they want instead of working WITH the group.

    [end two cents]
