Nice !
BTW I know how you feel . I have played KidRaid since Beta and have yet to to a version of him that satisfy me. I guess when the character is too close to our heart it is difficult to be satisfied. -
Hey south star you are you are a member of the Concrete Gurus!
Say hello for me to Unknown Soldier ( I assume he is still around) I use to be part of that pre-Beta, I was Void . Tell him he should come and post some art here he does some great stuff. -

looking durn good Grey.
critiquewise...is his "powerhand" a wee bit big...or have I just drank to much?~
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually yes it is. A while ago Graver made a post about the power of hands (and feet) and how by drawing them bigger you can convey more, how small hand are shy .... I am not explaining it well but he did. Anyway I wanted Mardun to look powerfull therefor I gave him Big powerfull hands ( I may have over done it but I like the end result) Meanwhile I made the hands of the wolf long and narrow which to me made it look more animalistic.
In other words no you did not drink too much. -
That is goood !
You are improving every time you post. Soon you will start wondering how you ever did without a tablet! -

Looks great so far. The fur is looking very good!
Oooh, and MarDun finally got the invisibility pool powers! He's never looked better!
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok I had a bit of time so Mardun is now visible
I am learning a lot with this. If you are wondering about the shawdow : Eventually his hand will be "Powered up" and so it is the main light source.
Mardun's Pencils almost finished -
Great picture DJ ...

I had mine taken out my junior year of high school. They punctured my sinus cavity AND I got a dry socketIt was TERRIBLE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dry Socket *shudders*. My mother got Dry Socket when she had her wisdom teeth taken out. I had mine taken out right after high school. No complications, and damn was I happy to eat solid food again after the third or fourth day. No! No more yogurt! No more pudding! No more apple sauce! I NEED TO MUNCH!
[/ QUOTE ]
I know what you mean. I was on a liquid diet for a few days after I hate a bad reaction to some medicine combination. Not being able to eat solid foods sucks!
Luckily, I didn't have any problems when getting my wisdom teeth removed. The biggest thing about the operation I remember was the injection to put me under... or more specifically, how fast that stuff worked. I swear, one minute I was thinking to myself "No way this stuff is going to work that fa," then I was waking up all groggy. Oddest feeling...
[/ QUOTE ]
They put you to sleep to remove them???
When they removed mine they just froze and then pulled it out. The huy must have been good because he gave me a prescription for pain killers but I did not have to use it 2 aspirins were enough.
About liquid diet : Try 4 weeks before eating SOFT food I got operated on my stomach a few years ago . The first 4 weeks was liquid only. Then I was allowed to move to baby food and had to work my way back to normal. The good side was that I lost over 20 pounds while on the liquid diet.Bad news is I regained it all and more.

(I stopped reading the thread when it seemed to get argumentative so If I repeat things already said sorry)
Very nice pose . Very feline and playfull. I am not sure about the hands/paw thing. I know you are probably going for the animalistic look as much as possible but to my eyes the hands just look like he got his fingers cut off. On the other hand ( pun intended) I love the rounded head that is a great way to make him look that much like a kitten. Finally it is nice to see a male hero that is not muscle bound that also fit the feline look. -
Very nice
I love the fact that we are in the Victim PoV.
I canèt wait to see the colors -

I appreciate your details and hard work, but what are Cyborg Girl and Miso thinking? Their facial expression looks blank.
[/ QUOTE ]
i have to agree. The piece is AMAZING --- except for the faces. they look fine, they just look ... uninterested? i think that's the word i'm looking for.
[/ QUOTE ]
For Cyborg girl it made sens to me . Kind of like data of ST:TNG as for myso I dont know that a strong expression would have been better. maybe a sigh evil smile but since she is further away I think that it would be difficult to be subtle.
I always love your 3D DJ but with all the post work you do I sometime wonder if calling it a 3D render is not belittling it. 3D painting might be a better name.
PS: Is it me or the detail shot you identified as myso is actually Cyborg-girl? -
I am still reading them on the ftp site.
I think some of you, while not completely wrong, are quite harsh.
The first serie was good . It was nice to see the storie focus on secondary characters. The art was good too but what I liked the most about it was that is was consistent, it stayed on the same level through out the 12 issue ru.
The new serie started out good too. It gave us a better idea of who were the big guys in the CoH universe. As far as the storie goes my main problem is that it has becomefocussed on one character (Manticore) who I do not relate to. As far as art is concerned it started well but contrary to the first serie it keeps fluctuating from issue to isssue (and even sometime within an issue). The last issue I read (#14) was the worse. To my amateurish eye the inking is the worse part of it . The colors themselves look good, The lettering is standard. The writing is no better or worse thant the issue just before and the art itself does not (again to my eye) have major problems. The inking however looks to say the least , rushed. I personaly like crisp well defined inks that give value to the pencils underneat. This inking they did does exactly the reverse. It just makes everything look flat.
I do hope that 15 is better -
Ok just so you dont think I forgot
Here is my progress. I am basically refining the pencils because I was very unsatisfied with what I had. The fur is what is giving me the most problems but I think I finally got it to flow properly.
WIP so far -
Ok I got caught up in the whole wing thing while I was on the phone at work
This is what I ended up with
Cupidon -
Love those Saytera..... Specially the one called what wings are good for.

Similar to the gnome
1. pencil
2. Scan the picture
3. Play with it in Photoshop so the pecils are Blue
4. Print
5. Ink over the Blue printout (Pencils are stored intact in a folder)
6. Scan the inks
7. Play with it in Photoshot tp remove the blue
Not perfect but it works for me -
Love the colors on this.
The expression on the victim's face is what sells it I think -
I liked the previous version But this is much better
I like that you chose a red sky the contrast brings out TA very well
Great job. -
The tablet I have is not a Wacom Sapphire but a Calcomp DrawingBoard so what I am going to say might not apply
At first I had an awful time trying to draw with it. The one day I did an experiment
I took a small plate and using it drew a circle. On my screen I had a big flattened oval.
There was a utility with wich to calibrate it so I used it. Immediatly it worked better.
Also I have found the the positioning of the board is very impostant. For me it has to be in front of my screen and square to it. Wich is very different then what I do with a sheet of paper. Otherwise my brain seems unable to relate the directions and positions properly.
I have no clue if it helps but just in case.....
