  1. Problem is, 1 acc isn't enough. Not at the level I fight at, nor for the PvP (which I do). So 2 acc/3dam is mandatory, leaving only 1 slot. If I make it recharge, I have endurance issues, and if I make it endredux, I'm sloooooow. Hence hasten by 30, to allow me to slot endredux and still manage a reasonable attack speed most of the time. And Accro... I've already had enough trouble with KB that I wish I could fit it in sooner. The fog is nice, but it doesn't measure up to the QoL improvements the other 2 powers provide. And given the end burn of the fog, I probably wouldn't run it in combat much anyway.

Question still remains with me for WS's. Are they also the best suited to solo the Cyst?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would welcome comment from an experience WS player on this, as my WS only reach lvl 25 before she tripped over the delete key.

However, to the best of my knowledge, a warshade would still be your best choice over any non-kheldian to handle a cyst. They are perhaps not as direct in their damage dealing as a PB, but will still be stronger against a nictus than a non-kheldian would be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would say no, but my 'shade isn't built to fight in human form. I just don't have the attacks needed for something like this. A warshade built for damage in human might manage it, particularly with mire(s). I did solo several cysts in the 45+ arc with inspirations, but I used nova form for it.

Thing is, my own experiences disagree with yours in regard to nictus spawn sizes. I recently (I7) did the 45+ kheldian arc. I soloed the first few missions, and the cysts spawned very few nicti. The last couple missions I got a team for. On several of the cysts in those missions a single teammate charged in and aggroed the cyst alone. In one case, the rest of the team (except for me - and I was out of aggro range) was on the other side of the map. The cysts still spawned nicti for the entire team. Not sure what accounts for the difference in our experiences, but when a cyst spawns a large number of nicti, no one will be soloing it without purples. The stacked -recharge from nictus attacks will be too great. In any case, cysts rarely pose a problem for a solid team. As long as the cyst is spotted ahead of time, and the team *listens* to instructions they go down with out much difficulty.

My less sophisticated, but easy to succeed with strategy: I say, "Everyone focus on the cyst, and *only* the cyst until it dies. They explode when they die, so if you are squishy, stay well back." Then we proceed with a simultaneous rush, and kill it. I did this all the way to 50 on my WS, and the only time I've seen it fail is when some teammates don't focus fire on the cyst. Most deaths result from squishies who aren't smart enough to stay back.
  3. My PvE build, for comparisons sake, below. Currently 26. Don't pay too much attention to the level at which slots are added, I swapped a bunch of them around. If Heat Loss does take accuracy as indicated, then it will be 2 acc/2-3 rech/remainder endmod. The missing power choice will be Ice Storm, Snow Storm, or Glacial Shield, and will probably be taken sooner than 49, causing other powers to be pushed back. I'm currently undecided.

  4. Great guide. One nitpick - melee characters with no defense can use aid self in combat just fine. My Fire tank has it slotted with 3 interupt/2 heal/1 recharge. The only time I have problems is when I'm taking an alpha for a team of 6+, and I *still* usually manage to get the heal off in time. Characters which lack defense should have little problem as long as they do not take alphas for large teams.
  5. Stimulant duration is 45 seconds. I timed it with a stopwatch.
  6. Woot for double posts.

Sure, stamina is optional, because technically everything except the powers you have to take at lvl 1 are optional. It's still a 'must have'.

I run with stamina and an end redux in most of my powers, and I still manage to run low on end. Not having stamina means more end management = less attack/debuffing. Having to slot 2 end redux = less slots for acc/dmg/debuff.

No stamina = much less effective.

If you want to build that way, fine, but it doesn't change the facts.
  7. Reconstruction and Dull Pain should be 3 recharge/3 heal much sooner than the 40's. Your slotting significantly reduces the heal of Recon, as well as both the heal and HP boost of DP.

Your reccomended MoG slotting is just plain ignorant. One resist will more than cap resistance, and *no* defense buffs are needed to greatly surpass the 95% ceiling.

I would suggest doing your homework before posting a guide in the future.
  8. I've been streetfighting some Paragon Protectors in Crey's Folly. I just noticed they still have the old Swipe/Strike/Slash animations.
  9. KD/KB are the same effect in game. 'Knockback is magnitude Knockdown.' Or something like that.
  10. Daaaaamn. Slash = my new best friend. I respec'd on test earlier today in preparation for I7. Had no idea I'd be testing it tonight. I'm impressed. Very Impressed. So much so that Eviscerate is actually looking a bit lack luster for that long (relatively) animation time.

All MMs were told they would receive a slight buff with i7, aimed at PVP but useful in PVE also. Does anyone on test know what this buff is?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it's not aimed at PvP -- it's a general change. Useful equally everywhere.

Indeed. But totally irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. I find your recent behavior asinine, therefore I won't team with you. The 'rules' just don't enter into it for me.

I couldnt care less if you chose not to team with me!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never expected that you would. The real question is: how many others on the server will feel the same way I do?

I just sent a PM to cuppa asking if purposefully giving a player debt is considered griefing. Will update when she gets back to me

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The Devs say - No.

Ultimately PVE mobs in a PVP zones are hazards of a PVP zone. Players do have control (and options) that will prevent them from being victims of the TP Foe tactic.

Regarding being held, immobilized, slept and then being teleported into a PVE mob: griefing? No.

If a player uses TP Foe and teleports another player into a mob, so that their health is reduced, and then finishes them off with a killing shot….griefing? No.

If a player intentionally uses a knockback power (or Repel or Dispersion Bubble) on another player from the top of the roof to the street below where there happens to be a PVE mob, and the player’s presence draws mob aggro and dies…should the player who knocked back the target player off that roof be actioned for griefing? No.

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, she stated it clear and simple What I do is neither harassment or griefing! Practically any tactic is valid in PvP.

if you can AS me with my DP on and get me to 1% I'll buy you a beer. Since DP gets my regen to 2333 with Portal Jockey and FPR badges

[/ QUOTE ]How about they just watch your health bar for DP to drop and then kill you?

Nevertheless, I am curious how Caltrops will not be used as a work around. Trops don't break Hide. Drop trops..wait for the first tick of damage...BAM! You've just circumvented the change by doing 1 HP of damage with power that prevents your target from getting away while you set up AS.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm curious about this - I have read that Ninjitsu caltrops do not have a -fly/-jump component, and the break hide if they do damage. My stalker isn't high enough to try them out yet. Anyone who has tested able to confirm/deny this?

Assassin strike at level 50 vs a target with no resists at all, at the damage cap:
    Base: 250.24
    Critical: 1501.47

Total: 1751.71 hp in one hit.

Level 50 Stalker has 1017.1 hp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

thanks for the news, wow were gonna be one shotted by scrappers then, seems all these nerfs and no love in the health department. guess we'll all have to go kamikaze after level 50 cause those hp's are gonna make us dead real quick.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, this is good news to stalkers - he's saying that a Stalker can still do more damage in one hit than a Stalker has HP. Of course that's assuming zero resists. Scrappers can't do that kind of damage in one hit... normally. Not sure about BU+Headsplitter or something.
  16. I'm sure he does play many AT's, however, he has said that he plays a stalker in other posts. Not an assumption on my part.

Edit: and honestly, I have to admit: mostly I'm quoting it because I think it's hilarious.

Um.. don't know about multiple posting or what not, but thanks, I had missed the death knell from States.

Gee, why be a stalker when you can 2-shot just as well and probably a lot safer, with almost as much stealth with a /DA brute?

    Thanks States.

While this thread has made it clear that many Stalkers do *not* share this view, the fact remains that many do. The remark is too telling to ignore; made part of my sig for the time being.
