Hey now, no hating on lower population servers or Galaxy. As others have said, use a servers chat channels to find teams, make friends, make your own teams, etc. People are out there, but they're all over across different zones, instanced missions, etc.
And Galaxy City is a nice option to have. I switch off between that and Atlas Park... wish I had that option redside... sick of Mercy Island. Heck, I wish that Mercy Island was on par with Galaxy. -
Yeah, the unlockables are fun, and running the SFs, too. Biggest issue for me redside is Mercy Island... done that stuff a few times and I'm sick of it, it's so dingy. I've run through Atlas Park and Galaxy City a bunch of times, but it's not nearly so tired. I like the look of the zones, and there are a lot more options for running through them, at least.

Yeah, the more niche powers tend to be disliked a fair amount. I would agree with Gillia that there are a lot of other powers that tend to work better than Jump Kick. Air Superiority is a better melee attack, Combat Jumping adds a nice layering of defense, and Hasten gives a great recharge boost. Heck, Teleport Friend could be seen as better, depending on your needs.
Personally, I like the look of Jump Kick. Its animation is a little more niche, however, so it has to fit my character's concept, too, which isn't many of them. I remember a guy that had a great character concept that grabbed Jump Kick, too. "The Astonishing Mon-kay" was an appropriately small MA Scrapper that first showed me what Jump Kick looked like, and I got a kick out of it. Ummm, pun intended, I think. -
Yeah, that's part of the problem. It doesn't have as many direct (or tangible) benefits as -res or -to hit, but it's still quite nice. A lot of the more difficult mobs in game have defense, -to hit debuffs, etc., making the -def effects a lot more useful. I think the devs also designed the -def sets with this in mind, too.

Yeah, it ticks me off when people do it. I do hang around for about 20 seconds to see if anyone revives me (as people do run around doing that), but anything more is just a waste of time. I'm sure such people keep hoping they will be revived as well, or don't want to miss out on tickets, but the ticket rate goes down extremely fast if there are too many people dead.
-
I've had hit or miss raids, and the miss ones usually are out of your control. Too many lowbies show up, people don't try to work together nicely, avoid taking out Magi, stay comatose on the ship rather than going ot the hospital, etc. Silly, but not much you can do except try to nudge them along.

Hmmm, weird. I mostly use my keyboard to activate powers. I will use the mouse from time to time when a power isn't easily reachable for me or I need to activate something. The weird thing that happens is that sometimes the game acts like I'm always pushing down the control key, so then I have to start using my mouse to activate powers in the first tray. Kind of annoying, too, as I usually put my slower recharging powers in tray two. Nothing like hitting Dull Pain when you just wanted to attack.
It seems to happen when I have a lot of lag, too. It never happens with any other game or application on that computer, so I can only assume it's something with CoX. Not sure if it's something similar to your mouse thing, or what. Probably unrelated, but I share your pain with weird hardware issues. -
? Aren't these rewards per server? So I would think you could have used those funds, as they're staying on Victory. Or are there only three winners overall between all the servers?
-
Good run! Had a few deaths when someone jumped in over their heads or "lag" occurred (
), but we got done in 1:38. Large amounts of damage plus a little bit of debuff seems to help out with Posi and Synapse. At least in their current incarnations.
Thanks for the stealthing, Des, and thanks to everyone else for coming along. I apologize for being a few minutes late again. -
KK, heading in in a few minutes.

Did I miss something? You can now pre-download, but I17 is still in closed beta... isn't it? I thought we didn't usually pre-download until open beta had been around for awhile.
Or is this some closed but open beta I hadn't heard about? And hasn't I17 been in closed beta for a long time?
Hmmm, probably enough questions for now. Just seems odd when I think about it. -
And he still won't admit that he was much of the problem with those changes. If you listen to the guy too much, he starts to sound all-knowing... but if you think about what he's saying... yeah, not so good.

Anybody, anybody? What do I have to do, make this themed? Electric powersets only?
Darn Penny and Ham, trying to come up with cool themes and stuff.

Hey all, I'm slowly working on the TF Commander badge (on a Blaster this time, gasp!), and Synapse is one of the last two needed. I actually have time to fit in a Synapse during the week, but mainly if I get started right away. So, I'd like to start out with part or most of a team right on time. I'll be starting this off (hopefully) at 7 PM Central/8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific. Who else wants in on helping me crush all the silly robot thingies?
1. Grey Pilgrim (Blaster, 1.21 Giggawatts) -
Yeah... I think it's taken as a matter of course by most people that CoX was designed for PvE first, and then PvP much later on. The rooting is just one example, I would say. WoW clearly has a better plan and integration for PvP, just to cite an example.
I'm not sure what to say about the state of PvP now... I usually don't mind playing against other players, but I tend to find PvE more fun, I guess. I prefer to get PvP in first person shooters, I guess. -
Yeah, I wouldn't mind giving this a go, but my one Stalker is on Victory. So I may have to see what people there want to do. I dunno if I'd want to give the LRSF a run with this, but an ITF would be fun.
-
Eh, you get too be wussy and stay at range. I have to get up close where they hit hard.
I'd think that one might be better for Stalkers that have more resists. Nin is great for dodging stuff, and you can heal quickly when you do get hit, but a lot of hits in a row are not good for it.As it is, I still hung in there with the 4-5 heroes running around... I just had a couple of unlucky hits in a row again before I could hit another green inspiration.
Debuffs and buffs are definitely the key for that one, though. -
You know, it seems like it would be better to just keep updating this game. If the engine is really a limiting point, make that a paid expansion. My problem with a sequel is if it would prevent my bringing over my old characters, or keep me from accessing older missions and such. Yes, I know that sounds crazy on one hand, but I like my characters, and a lot of the content here... I keep playing this game because I want to keep playing that content (and I won't more, MORE!
).
Anyway, it's too early to tell anything. All this rumor mill has spawned is the same old arguments that came up when people debated a sequel before the GR news came out. -
Didn't work. I'll have to see if it behaves when I get back home.
I also tried restoring my computer to an earlier point, since it was obviously the patch that screwed up the loader (it worked just fine when I played last night). No go for that. What are my other options? File a ticket? Or would it be better/easier just to uninstall and install the game again? Thankfully, I purchased the Architect Edition, so this won't require TOO much downloading if I need to do it. -
-
Well, I tried getting the new patch to go through on my computer, and it's a no go. It crashed while applying it, and now the launcher "stops responding" when it's fixing the files.
Is this happening to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to fix this? -
Yeah, plenty of things that can get screwed up there, for sure. Definitely fun to check that out, though.
Darn RNG is hilarious, though. The first of my two deaths came from Valkyrie hitting me twice in a row when I was way over the def cap, and the first was her heavy hitter. So yeah, two rapid hits in a row, in the worst order possible, with no time to hit my heal between them. And I don't think she hit me at any other time during the entire encounter.
Hung around for a good long while with 4-5 Heroes running around during that last mission, but defense, heals, and popping oranges only lasts so long when they're all +3 to you, I guess. Probably would have been okay if I had popped the Demonic Aura Accolade... wasn't thinking, there. Thanks for the run, Voo. -
Eh, I have built some squishies with Tough. It's more because I was angling for Weave, though I like getting the epic shields on all of them. It generally has to be one or the other with them, though... builds can only fit in so much. My Elec/Elec couldn't get both when he was building for Smash/Lethal defense, for instance. I think I can fit in both with the DP/EM I'm planning, though.
I figure any mitigation is good... fewer greens needed, you can last longer when your defense doesn't work for you, etc. You're not going to be a tank, obviously, but it is a nice layering for a build. -

Quote:Minor nitpick, Willpower's Tier 9 cannot have lowered recharge: it stays at 300 seconds, per Castle's design. That's part of why it doesn't have a crash. I do agree that US and any other crash Tier 9s should get the same treatment. I'm probably going to grab US on my Invuln/Mace, but that's more for "oh, carp!" situations (and because I'm trying to build him without Tough and Weave). I'd probably use it more regularly and like using it without the crash. I kind of feel the same way about Light Form for Peacebringers, which is basically a US clone. So, Willpower (it took me almost a year to roll one up and truly run it after it came out) So now my main is a SS/Will brute. I regularly pop the tier nine on WP (even in the ITF valley, even vs AVs) and almost never have even a minor problem. Now, by regulary, I mean there is a ton of global rech on this guy, and he pops it whenever he feels like it, about every 3 minutes it is up (this is an estimate, I have not timed it). Now, by a minor problem I mean (since the globa rech is so high) he usually has 2 (sometimes 3) rage going, whch means mult rage drops, which can coincide with the tier 9 drop. And that big problem = (oh no!) my end bar is at less than 50%. er, eat a sm or med blue, move on.
Tenzhi, I'm sure Castle would quibble with your "Tankers shouldn't have to take Tough or Weave" stance. Making all Tankers that powerful out of the box might make them too overpowered, or make them all too similar too each other (which is worse).
