  1. KK, I guess I found the fix for the "access path denied" error I was getting.

I did the *Big* fix and uninstalled All NCSoft and re-installed. Like in my previous, I have had various NCSoft games on my box for years. I would guess that over that time, small _variations_ occured that was not _liked_ by the new NCSoft Installer.

Any way, I used Revo Uninstaller and watched what it did. My guess is the "access path" that was denied was a bad registry error for a file that was removed/renamed in some previous patch?
  2. KK, I found my fix. I did the *Big* uninstall of all NCSoft and re-installed. Like I said in my first post, I have had CoH on my machine for *years*. All those patches. I guess some of them had small _problems_ that were maybe the source of the problems.

The new NCSoft Installer probably needs absolutly no minor variations in previous patches. I do not know what the "access path" was that was broken, but a *Big* fix does it.
  3. I D/L the new installer and ran it. I got the "Access to the path is denied" error message, and the NCSoft log is not too much help in finding what "path" it is talking about. Ran a registry cleaner and restarted the box (WIN/7 64-bit). Ran NCSoft again, and same error.

Is there a way to determine what "access path" it is having trouble with so I can fix it?
  4. This may be to new an issue for any posts yet.

I tried to run CoH today and was informed that I had to install a new NCSoft installer. I D/L the new installer and ran it. About 60% in it failed with a "Access to the path is denied" error. Restarted it and did the Repair option, same error. Ran a registry cleaner and restarted the machine (WIN/7 64-bit). Same error.

The problem is that from the NCSoft log, I cannnot tell what that error message is suppose to mean. I have had CoH, through different itterations, for years. What is changes now in this installer?

Has NCSoft added some new security software that may conflict with Anti-Virus programs that I need to identify?

They would not hve to write a web script for every link, one script run over all threads during a normal maintenance period. I have had them run on web sites in the past, no biggie.
  6. I understand that in moving from the Old to New forums, some of the hyperlinks point to posting numbers that do not exist anymore.

Is it possible, during some maintenance, that any such broken threads get color coded so the user does no go chasing any 404's?

This wouldn't be an issue if we could edit them in there, but we can't. Attempts on my part to get redname attention have been unsuccessful thus far (one would be needed either to edit the new links into the old first posts or to sticky a new thread), so if anyone knows who the heck is responsible for such things feel free to point them in the right direction... people who can't find guides ATM would appreciate it.
If these old posting numbers cannot be fixed, is there a way to just discard any old posts that do not point to a posting number that exists? Yes, CuppaJo and ExLIb, etc. did greate posts, but if these cannot be brought back easily, then clip them and let others create new Guides, Op's, etc. to fill there places; Better than a 404.
  8. Hmmm, my "Hero" turning _Dark_. My "Villian" turning _Light_. How will save Paragon City then?
  9. Shield fighting would be my suggestion. And not just a re-do of Capt. America, but a remote fighting object like a shield or boomerang would be a great affect to play with. I wold also see that the "powers" might involve the flight path of the remote object.

And it could be decorated just like our costumes.
