  1. Also, deactivated AVG, that didn't help
  2. Ok, after a little search on the net, i found out how to look at my LAN settings. the proxy button was not checked, so is it safe to assume i'm not using one?

Try CoH again after that. If that fixes it, you either need to tweak the settings in WatchDog or leave it off.

Note how in your HJT log, you have SOE, FreeRealms, etc listed as trusted zones?
Can't find anything on altering Watchdog, not even when I open AVG. Nor can I find a way to disable it. Tried killing it from taskmanager, but it won't let me. might have to uninstall it and try that.
  5. OK, here's my COH helper file:

How do I allow CityofHeroes.exe? It doesn't show up under the list of exceptions, and I can't seem to find it on my computer anywhere.
  9. Nope, I have zero issues with any other games, just this one. Is the windows firewall bad? I've never really had any issues with security
  10. I've attempted to return to the game after a break of several months, and am trying to use the new launcher. I downloaded it fine, but when I click on the shortcut to run it, I get this:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/7113150...in/photostream

No matter how many times I click it, same result.

then I press skip and attempt to install City of Heroes, and get this:

I believemy firewall is set correctly to allow the launcher access, as seen here:

Is this a known issue, or am I missing something?
  11. Ahhh thanks, Fulmens! That cleared up a bit of it for me.

I guess locking in a toon at a low level only makes sense if I'm looking to hone in on a specific, low-level set of recipies
  12. Thanks for all the replies everyone.

It always seems to me when I random roll at lvl 50 I get far more crap (i.e. not very marketable) stuff than when I do at lower levels. That was what prompted me to start looking at this in the first place.
  13. I've heard that some folks will level-lock a character in order to better thier chances for specific recipies with random rolls. I've thought about trying it out, but am unsure of a few things.

Most of what i've heard is that people lock around lvl 30 for the most profitable selections, is that true?

Also, is there a difference between random rolls with AE tickets and random rolls with Amerits? I mean, as far as the pools the recipies come from?

Finally, If I were to level-lock a toon, what is a good at/powerset combo for running at around level 30? I was thinking scrap/brute maybe. I'm mainly looking at getting my 5 alignment missions done everyday so I can random roll with A-merits most often.

    Thanks in advance!

    Post a Character

Rocket Fool is great! Great use of the cyborg faceplate, and the bio cracked me up. "E.M.P. weapons are a dime-a-dozen". Great stuff!

instead of a keyboard for all non-chat commands. I am going down to a local shop that makes custom cables to see if they can make me a splitter so i can use the Fang controller on both rigs. If it works, should be freaking swell.
wow, please let me know how that works out, I have a laptop i could run another account on if it goes well!
  16. Oh cool, thanks for the replies! Now I have some ideas to work with!

Is there anyway to have your keyboard fire off powers for both characters? Like if my primary attack is in the first slot on both, pressing 1 would fire them both off?
  17. I'm just wondering what kind of tips people may have for running two accounts on one computer. I have them both active at the moment, and can run them fine with lowered graphics settings.

I have seen something about /maxinactivefps commands and such. what are they for and are they worthwhile?

what about duo toons? One offense, one support I imagine. I play both CoH and CoV, any tips would rock!
