Quote:I have to agree with this.Invulnerability is almost as tough, though, even without Unstoppable, which I have never taken on any of my Invuln tankers. Invulnerability makes a better tank for tanking IMO, with no mobility or -recharge issues. And Invulnerability is capable of tanking the whole game, and does not rely hardly at all on its level 32 power. So while Stone is toughest, especially with SOs, Invuln is better rounded.
even after all these years invulnerability is still my favorite tanker primary. Just not a big fan of changing into a big rock, an Ice cube, or a burning marshmallow. Dark armor just seems too gloomy for my tastes too. which leaves Invulnerability, willpower, and shields. heck I like all 3 but I always find myself gravitating back to Invulnerability. This even though I have never taken unstoppable. -
Quote:oh yeah, the locks got changed. Top of the line secure key code locks Guaranteed to keep out the riff raff. The best locks the Corner Store could provide. Funny thing is you guys never sent me the codes.Aw dammit!
Did no one change the locks like we were supposed to?!
...
I mean: hi there GA!
How you been, good buddy?
That up there? Yeah...
That's a ... herm ... a typo.
Yeah.I figure it was an oversight. Luckily since they were bought at the Corner Store I had the master override codes. I always keep those, you never know when I might have to break into... that is ah... You never know when I might have to repair or replace the locks at a moments notice. All part of the Corner Store Golden Guarantee.

Quote:open moon zone.... Hmmm...My nephew plays[not to be mentioned] , he wanted me to try it . The game play was different and not to my liking . The graphics on [not to be mentioned] was quite good, and they did have intresting [redacted]. I think that experimintation is nice but traditional zones are useful to establish a game overall genre.Though I would like an open Moon Zone.

Quote:See! I was right! He is out to get me!The Moon Zone... I don't remember the first time I talked to Positron about that. Last year, I asked him if we were getting female Mastermind pets. At the end of the exchange:
Me: "I'm sorry. I must really go on when it comes to this."
Him: "It's okay. At least you aren't on about the Moon Zone."
So I'm thinking a skip. -
Why I enjoy playing a Tank? Because no other AT can come close to matching what a Tank can do, nor do they come close. I can solo nearly any mission set for an 8 man team without dying. The only time I show any concern for what Im fighting is when the critters start sucking my end.
I started playing CoH in Issue 2, and got Ace to 50 in Issue 3. Tanks have fallen hard since those glorious day of yore. Being able to cap your resistances w/o tough, no Agro cap, Herding entire zones, etc... I once walked through the hollows from the Skyway City entrance to the Atlas Park entrance and gathered up every mob in-between and stood there letting the low levels pick them off or die trying.
Ace isnt a fraction of his former self, even with several billion in IOs slotted into him, but damn, if hes not a lot more super than any other AT. I have a brute and a scrapper slotted up they however cant take but a fraction of what Ace can. I will on occasion play a non main character for a while, but I always go back to Ace.
The brute and scrapper can kill around 8 or less mobs quicker than Ace, but when it comes to large capped out groups of mobs or higher, Ace kills faster and with less health loss. -
Quote:I wouldn't know. I never got any.BTW, the ribs were still delicious reheated on Wednesday night along with the cheesecake remains.
Thanks for a great time GA.Darn Minions ate them all after I got called to work that Monday. Wife gave away the second cheesecake too.
Glad you enjoyed yourself. Let me know if your ever in the area again. Have a safe trip home tomorrow. -
I didn’t do it. It wasn’t me. Honest! I didn’t even attempt anything we just had a nice BBQ.
It all started around a month ago. I heard Ura and the Ura-Clan were going to be in the area, so I invited them over for a BBQ. I even offered to let them stay the night. Shame they didn’t take me up on that. I prepared the guest bedroom just for them. Oh well, my mother-in-law will be visiting in a few months. I’m sure everything will keep until then.
I did my utmost to be a courteous host, and I even made special ribs with no “Extra Spices” for Ura and his brood. Mind you we had a few other guests over too, and I did prepare some food with the “extra spices” for them (long story, lets just say that there was a little matter of money being owed, which I don’t owe them now). But I made it abundantly clear to Ura and Shesa that those particular ribs had the “extra spices” and that Ura and Shesa along with their two heroes in training were to stay away from them.
We all sat at the table and ate steamed crabs, ribs and steak, had cheesecake and drank a couple of bottles of Ice Wine while we reminisced about old times, and got caught up with what’s been happening. I even got out the gold silverware. It was a very nice visit. I was very impressed with Shesa Hero too she was quite the lady the entire night.
After we ate, our youngest kids went downstairs and showed Ura Jr his explosives collection and taught him how to combine smaller explosives into a much larger and more powerful explosive. No permanent harm was done to the yard, and fences can be replaced. They both had a good time and that was important. Afterward they played a few games of pool.
Now I’d like to note that Ura Hero Jr’s S/L resistance is quite high for one so young. Seems my youngest had an “accident” and broke a pool stick. Oh sure, he said it just magically broke all by itself, but I saw Ura Jr rubbing his head. I’m pretty sure Ace Jr blindsided him with it while he had his back turned.
I think they both learned a very important lesson out of the whole deal. Ura Jr learned not to turn his back on people, and Ace Jr. learned to use a bigger stick, and to think of better excuses. *Sigh* it does me good to see life lessons learned at such a tender age.
I came back upstairs after what we’re calling the “pool stick incident” only too see Ura gulping down his second rib with the “extra spices” I’m pretty sure Shesa gave them to him.
By the way, my dog absolutely adored Shesa, and he’s a great judge of character, just proves once again he’s right.
All in all a very pleasant BBQ, but eventually it had to end. They packed up the kids and we all said our goodbyes. I told Ura to visit the hospital if he started feeling queasy, then again I might have said not to visit the hospital. My memories are kind of fuzzy on that point. I do remember giving him a bunch of leftovers, along with the rest of the cheesecake. I hope they enjoyed them.
I made sure that Ura Jr got a box of explosives (it was Independence Day after all) and told him not to combine them, and not to set them off outside mom and dad’s room at 2 am. I also told him not to set the explosives off in the car. Ura Jr. was such a well behaved boy I’m sure he followed my instructions to the letter just like all teenagers would. I did however hear an explosion in the general direction they were going shortly after they got out of sight followed up by several sirens...
All in all it was a very pleasant visit, and I can honestly say that the last time I saw Ura, Shesa and the rest of the Ura-Clan they were well fed and in perfect health. Does my heart good to throw a successful BBQ like that.

I get Tough, I like the 90% I get with it. I usually solo +1's at the combat equivalent of 8 standard heroes. Tough comes in handy as I take them down.

Quote:*Hugs Wendy*But you forget young grasshopper the Devs keep insisting it is easier to create a completely new zone than revamp older ones! LOL So despite fequent posts to revamp Boomtown, Perez, Dark Astoria, ect the creation of a Moon Base, which was voted as the most popular choice for a NEW zone by the Forum members YEARS ago. seem far more likely to occur.
I can see the Rikti being there and Wailers too, they certainly look scifish enough (Is SciFish a word? :-D) Might be another spot to plant some critters from the Shadow Shard that somehow managed to escape (or explain them away as remnants left over from the attack on Paragon City). I can see Crey industries there since they tend to show up anyplace there is a chance for Science or technological finds and since Nemesis seems to show up just about everyplace I can by off on them as well.
NOW .. can we PLEASE, if in fact this ever happens, have one zone where some how the Circle of Thorns don't make an appearance? Hey I could even live with finding a huge 5th Column base up there since its one explanation for where they disappeared to so they could regroup and rebuild after the Center and his Council troops forced them out. But a society of dark magic user in outer space? And they are there because they heard a rumor the man in the moon has Mystical powers that they wish to steal? or what? Frankly when I First went to the Shard and discovered them there my reaction was "What the heck are they doing here now?" I think we all get the point COT are a MAJOR villain group and we will see them from level one through level 50 we do NOT need to see them in practically every single zone. LOL
If the zone ever does exist how about a brand new villain group to contend with? I'm thinking something along the lines of Predator movies. A race of alien beings that live to hunt and enjoy pitting themselves against anything or anyone with superior fighting abilities. This could even lead to missions where the Rikti team up with us simply because these things scare them ****less. Of course without the proper permissions they'd need to alter the look and weapons somewhat to avoid lawsuits but give these things some sort of energy weapon and melee attacks and give the higher leveled ones (Lts and Bosses) some Psi attacks as well.
Although I think of the Rikti as being in too many zones too. A nice predator type alien on the moon... I like it. -

Quote:I think a paid annual expansion is a bit too often. maybe every 3 years or so would be good.Would you buy an Annual Expansion of CoH?
What would you expect from one?
If you would (wouldn't), Why? (Why not?)
Now if it were a space expansion complete with a Moon Zone or two....
Would have to have a space booster pack too, complete with bubble helmet, NASA suit, and Ex_Libris' moon boots.

Quote:What? I'm suppose to remember all my posts? I'm not even sure Big Blue could do that. The one I'm thinking of was pretty recent - I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: Found it - it was from the Pocket D anniversary event: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=558 - and it was quoted in a post that you made
Actually I was thinking of an interview that was done several years ago. -
I'm pretty sure it was Castle that said he wasn't crazy about a moon zone.
it was a long while back. of course if you just made a zone on the moon it would be pretty barren unless you added other things. I'm trying to remember I think someone around here wrote a fairly decent description of a Moon Zone about 5 or so years back.
