Ahh well could be the fact that the US guys *do* celebrate heavily on 4th July so could have an effect on it
[/ QUOTE ]
The girls celebrate it too
Although this year, I was thrown into the pool by three of my evil brothers - but apart from that, the party was awesome
-
Well, they can't do everything at once, especially as they're working on a new expansion, so it's probably easier for them to add chnages in stages.
-
I'd like invasion code for the Paladin contruction and the Supatroll rave, with the Paladin and its followers having a much larger area where they rampage, and the supatrolls spreading out throughout Skyway - and both events would use Safeguard style destructable scenery, so it'd look more like a rampage.

i agree wholeheartedly that it has the potential to be one of my fave TFs aswell ive made one attempt at it until we got to a point where he was on an unstoppable cycle he'd go down to 55k health then pop unstoppable and back up to 75k and this happened about 10 times. Now i'm all for challenging gameplay but imho giving an enemy an insane amount of HP is a bit of a cop out when it comes to creating a challenge. For a while hammering away at him was kinda fun then it just turned into a senseless grind
as for the other missions i liked them but they are kinda "blink and you miss em missions"
i can see myself getting the badge some other time but after that i dont think id do it again unless it gets tweaks, as it is nowhere near as fun as the TFs added in the last several issues (just my opinion anyway)
[/ QUOTE ]
The first mission it Atlas Park is really good, I think - but then the TF seems to dip a little, and only pick up towards the last mission, unlike the ITF, which feels like it's ramping up right from the start to an epic showdown - it feels more even than the new TF. -

I thnk the trouble there is that the others would just let him get splattered if that were the case... or all TP in together
[/ QUOTE ]
But if they were interested in his proposals, they'd probably want to help him out.
And they might take longer to tp in becuase they might want to gather some help, like Countess Crey might feel safer rounding up a few of ehr tanks before entering a battle - plus, if they don't have tp as a personal power, then they'd have to get from wherever they were video conferencing from to wherever they had their teleporters. -

GR - several zones and potentially more content than you could shake a stick at?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sooner the better, it's all that is keeping a lot of people i know playing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it'll be this year - in time for the holidays probably. -
I like it too - but I wish they'd not have him holding the other AVs as captives

I'd prefer it if he was video conferencing with them when you arrived, and then they would tp in instead. -
I met some of those on an MA arc the other day, and had no idea what they were

...and as long as you can have anyone auto-lk'd to lvl 45 in a lvl 50 mission, the MA is and will remain a farm tool. If the devs didn't intend it to be that way there's plenty of ways to fix that.
My suggestion is for all mobs everywhere in every zone to always be like the rikti invasion forces: Your level, no matter what level you are and/or +1, +2 etc if you've upp'ed the diff setting. That would even make it possible for different diff settings within the team, and would make it more fun running around in the low level zones.
The game mechanics are obviously already there, so implementing it is possible although it'd probably take some work.
Thing is, it would remove the need the LK/SK/Malf/mentor and remove the +5 lvl grinds completely. It's the only "permanent" solution I know of.
personally I'm happy I can get through lvl 1-21 fast nowadays, be it through the MA or in other ...creative... ways!
[/ QUOTE ]
Now this is a partly good idea.. no... great even. Implement this for every outside zone npc enemy/mob. And all zones become dangerous again.
Then get the bankj robberies. What about a pvp implementation system? When a villain gets a bankjob he is transported by teleport by his contact to a bank in the real hero zone. Doing the bank job until alarm goes off.
The heroes within the range of sound of the alarm have a limited time to get to the bank and stop the villain. If the villain makes it out he gets an inf bonus and an auto tp back. If he is killed he gets nothing and is tp-ed back.
Just some rambling idea's...
[/ QUOTE ]
That would involve forcing someone to PvP, which isn't such a good idea.
Completing the 3,4 or 5 missions to get a Mayhem/Safegaurd, and then getting a little window popping up asking if you'd like to do it normally or open it up to an enemy of your level would be fine though. -

I guess that would be the difference if he tried that stuff in EU then.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think had he done it here you and your mates would have killed him enough to sicken him of his experiment
Also i dont doubt for a minute he was regularly removed from the zone by the US pvp'ers, its just saying he was wiped the floor with didnt fit in with his rubbish report.
[/ QUOTE ]
But wouldn't they have posted screenshots and logs for it on the forum? If he became that unpopular, surely there'd have been a lot of PvPers seeing it as a challenge to take him down, and then share their victory with everyone on the forum?

Isn't droning ok, but not if it's done too much?
I thought the devs had said that the PvP zones are "anything goes" palces?
It's like the NPC mobs - the devs could reduce their level if they wanted to - like make the mobs in RV cap at 45 or so.
But as they've filled the zones with dangerous mobs and instant kill drones, and given players the possibility to tp enemies, as well as being aware of the problems caused by excessive droning, then it looks like they're cool with it to some extent. -
I suppose it's sort of good publicity for us - in a way

I'd like stealth missions - like sneaking around on Praetoria, investigating Tyrant and his thugs, and obtaining top secret data about them.
And just to make it extra challenging, the places where the info would be kept would have a special security system that'd suppress all superpowers - so on the misison, you'd only have Brawl and Sprint available - with maybe the option of finding a temp power for a handgun of some sort.
The we could all play at spies, even if we weren't the Spy AT
[/ QUOTE ]
:O GG ftw?
total power suppression with ability to find crappy temps
reminds me of Metal gear solid when you get caught and get your weapons and stuff taken off you and have to sneak around breaking peoples neck xD
Forcing a change of tactics on players is a great idea!

The moonbase could also have some weird gravity stuff - like normal jumping would be like superjump - and the Atlantis/underwater zone could have lots of possibilities for altered movement powers too, that could be tied into actual mission mechanics. -

... catch up for a few hours on a saturday afternoon (much to GF's annoyance). Now we level too quickly, the tempatation is to go to MA (as we are supposed to do) and grind the mishes.

All these years Ive been playing this game and Im still doing it wrong: I play for a few hours each week and it still takes me six or so weeks to get a level.

We knew that the current PvP community wasn't likely to react well to the changes as they wern't who we were making changes for, so it's understandable that there is continuing complaints from that segment.

It was admitted by Lighthouse (US Board Mod) that the changes were NOT for PvPers
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not quite correct - he said it wasn't expected to appeal to the current PvPers - the idea was to make PvP more accessable to newer players, so this meant reducing the ability to be uba leet
[/ QUOTE ]
And the idea failed miserably.
Anyway why nit pick, what Stalky said is basically right.
[/ QUOTE ]
But not totally right - he made it sound like the changes weren't designed for PvP, when they were - but just not for the pre I13 PvPers. -

I don't lie
PvP has been chnaged for a reason, and I think that reason is connected to this "special enhancements to make you like a level 60" idea they've been mentioning - it's a long term goal, but they've started the basic work for it in I13, I think. -

If Castle cared about the game, he would implement new content and improvements. Not introduce MA, where the players create his content for him, he doesn't care about the game, it's clear.
[/ QUOTE ]
quite true actually...
MA is really just like valve releasing the Source engine. True it's easier to manage than valves effort, but it is still not an addition to the game. 99% of us play games, not sit around writing them.
[/ QUOTE ]
But it only needs a small percent of our player base to generate good content for the MA, which is what's happening now - the novelty of making missions just because you can, or need to for the badges, is less now, and the players who genuinely want to make missions are getting more familiar with the tools available to them - plus, the threat of losing an avatar that's been leveled too fast has helped reduce the PLing a bit.
And I'm pretty sure there'll be more tweaks, chnages and upgrades to the MA in I16 and beyond, as the devs get it more like the way they want it.
So the MA is an addition to the game - a very big one too - but it's still not quite right yet. -
I'd go for Flight, Regen and Empathy.
-
It's not just the lower level zones that have been emptied by the MA - Peregrine Island is now very quiet - not a demon farm request or padding offer in sight
