I think to be fair to the Devs, GR deserves the content. The whole point of GR is to shore the game up against CO, and to really compete against the new hero MMOs that are imminent. To give a lot of free content just before a huge paid expansion would not be good business sense.

Arguably it would discourage existing subscribers from buying the new box and it's very important for the health of the game that as many people as possible do that.

Now, here I both agree and disagree with you. Yes, it's great that GR appears to be getting a lot of content BUT, what about people who don't buy GR? There are bound to be some, so what new content is there going to be for those guys?

I think they'll get something - if GR is launched the same way as CoV, then there'll be a free Issue along with the paid for expansion.
And while power sets are usually big features, Demon Summoning the Dual Pistols will actually be pretty small compared to the new zones, missions, side switching mechanic and so on, so it's possible they might be inlcuded in the free GR Issue, while the big stuff is in the paid for GR box.

Come on now, the new difficulty settings are great for farmers - fire/kin on one account, perma 46 on the other, spawns set for 8 - just invite the level 1 of your choice and fire away

I don't mind - and I still think they might be part of the free Issue patch that comes out along with the GR launch, like everyone got access to the PvP zones in I6, even if they didn't buy CoV.

I wonder if the power sets, if they are in GR, might still be available to everyone, even if they don't buy it? Like the PvP zones were opened up to any Heroes, even if they didn't have CoV?
I'd guess GR will be launched along with an Issure, like CoV was, so it's posisble the power sets might be included in the Issue content as well, with the Praetoria zones and side switching being the paid for stuff in the box.

They're more anti MA PLing, than farming - it's the MA they're protecting.
I think they're prepared to turn a blind eye to some PLing - like they never put a entry cap of 5+/10+ on the sewers, or a 40+ entry cap on PI, or nerfed fire/kins into the ground - but getting a 50 in a few hours in the MA is not something they want to be possible - the MA is a very special new feature of the game, and they want it to work properly.

It's still no excuse to call one of the designers names though - there's no way Jay can add every single suggestion to the game, but the stuff he has made, requested or pre-palnned, has been welcomed by most of the players.
And, assuming NCSoft aren't running Paragon Studios as a charity, he's working for his salary - and as he still has his job, it seems his workrate is ok to his employers.

I think the main thing stopping a Neutral faction being allowed to access both sides of the game would be the ned to totally reconfigure every contact and mission to take this into account.
Positron's said something along the line of GR being "connected, but separate" to CoH and CoV, which sort of sounds like any Neutral faction would be limited to Praetoria only, because if it was free movement between blue and red sides, it couldn't really be described as "separate".

Being neutral might also allow you to travel between Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, because as a mercenary, you'd just go wherever the jobs were.
Of course, you'd have to be careful not to do too many good or bad deeds in a row, or you might find your morality too far gone to one side or the other, and some contacts might also refuse to deal with mercenaries.

The more info we get on GR, the more I think we might just get some kind of third faction to join, like neutral/mercenary.
