It's a natural progression if you're talking about disabling the look of buffs
If the devs would go to the trouble of allowing players to turn off buff color effects, then they should also allow players to turn off the actual stuff that buffs do.

It developed into the importance of being able to block/refuse buffs

Be patient - I think they'll eventually make all powers customizable

Buff Powers: Player Coloured, Yes/No

No means that you only see the default colour. Yes means you see the colour that the player applied to the power.

Graphics, when it relaly, really comes down to it, doesnt matter. A game is defined by the gameplay. We have a lot of games that come out these days that have 'cutting edge' graphics...but someone kinda forgot about the gameplay.

I still have to play CoX on minimum settings. I've never seen the game at full potential. And I still like it, because it plays well.

On WoW, you can right click on a buff icon to remove it from yourself.

Say someone casts Power Word: Fortitude on you. With a simple Right Click on the icon at the top of your screen, the buff disappears.

I'm treading very carefully here, but looks are not everything.

Games these days have to be innovative in gameplay as well. If it's the same old systems rehashed, then any new game released - that is like that - runs the risk of failure.

I don't expect there to be any new superhero MMO release in 2009.

Maybe they'll do something like the avatar name wipe, where inactive names are freeded up?
Like even if someone on the American boards had registered with the name "Archy", but had never posted, the name would be freed up, and if they did decide to start posting, they'd be given the chance to pick a new name.

I wouldn't not want buffage.. Just make it so one can enable or disable custom colors on buff effects (personal) like when zooming in on yourself where you can dispell the effects.
