Quote:I think that's too long to use as a SG name - even if you just shorten it to WAPOARGSRCASIYHVOAOTATMBCNKTTYIYCDYVWOIASMTFJSBITG THOLLTCLTAAOFOYHARTYVAARTOYWLTBMFBWYASDDTTAEBTRMYW BR - I don't think there'd be space for it under the avatar names.Wouldn't a better supergroup be "We accept people of all races, genders, sexualities, religions, cultures and sub-cultures. If you have views on any of the above that might be considered negative, keep them to yourself. If you can discuss your views with others in a sensible manner, that's fine, just step back if things get too heated or look like they could lead to an argument or falling out. You have a right to your views, and a responsibility to others. You wouldn't like to be mocked for being what you are, so don't do that to anyone else. Breaking these rules mean you will be reprimanded."

If you're neutral, you might be able to access both sides at once - like you're not evil enough to be kicked out of Paragon City, and you're not good enough to attract Arachnos attacks in the Rogue Isles.

You can't really say that just because someone isn't openly lacking sorrowfulness that they must be straight - Doctor Khan could be a fabulous cook - Ernesto Hess might only be staying with the Council because he likes the company of muscular young men in uniform - Black Scorpion could watch "Sex in the City" of his own free will - but if it hasn't got anything to do with their missions, then it's not likely to be mentioned at all.

Quote:1 - Go to "User CP"I recently realized the [code] tag no longer works on these forums. This is a pretty nasty problem, considering it was the way a lot of people conveyed numerical results, tables, and other whitespace sensitive information. If possible, could that tag be enabled / added? Or is there an alternative I'm unaware of?
2 - From the list on the left side, select "Edit Options"
3 - Scroll all the way down, and choose "Enhanced Interface"
4 - Weep with joy at the greatness of the new forums. -
Synapse seems pretty flamboyant - Back Alley Brawler has an outfit that's a heck of a lot like the ones worn by the Supatrolls in those male only raves in Skyway City - Lord Recluse's father came from the same country as Bruno - open your eyes and see the cavalcade of camp right under your nose!

How do you know? The sexuality of NPCs and contatcs isn't mentioned that often in their bios - quite a few signautre characters could be non-unhappy.

Quote:All the devs have said is that it "won't be easy" to switch sides - so I think it'll be at least several arcs you'll need to do before you can go to the other side.I see your point, as well as your wrestling analogy above that. I am very curious as to how the Devs see it.
I guess it really depends on what the side switching mechanic is going to be based on. Is it going to be a specific story arc? I assume it would be soloable. Or is it just an accumulation of good versus evil points? Or is there to be some sort of game mechanic that they need to accomplish every time? Will there be another system to make a character a spy or mercenary, where they can jump back and forth at will, and possibly remain in the supergroup/villaingroup that they want to belong to?
Maybe rep points will unlock sort of "temptaion" arcs - like you hit 10 evil rep points, and that unlocks an arc that shows you the benefits of being evil, and you choices on that arc will either give you more evil rep, or reduce it if you decide to resist the temptation of evil. -
Quote:I know, but the problem with that is that it'd be more or less saying to badge hunters you must go rogue - and I don't think the devs would go that way.Hmm, yes, that does make sense too. I guess it'll boil don to exactly how the Devs decide to make side-switching work.
On the note of badges, I don't think they'll go away. I mean, those are given based off your accomplishments. Just because you're evil now doesn't mean you didn't defeat Tyrant, y'know?
Also, I think Villains will get the chance for a defeating Tyrant badge in GR anyway
EDIT: Actually, if that NCSoft survey is correct, then there will be some option to be a "double agent" in GR, so if that does make it in to the expansion, then they might leave the faction specific badges alone. -
Quote:The 1 = l still works, but it shows up as a 1 in normal text - it only looks like a l in your name. It's probably better to use a bit of extra punctuation than to try to pull the ol 1 = I trick. Not sure if that even still works, but generally a number 1 looks exactly like a capital letter I. zero and the letter o are also commonly swapped.
...
Don't do that. It makes it really hard to type your name out.
Punctuation is sorta cheesy, but can be understandable. I'd try to avoid even doing that though.
For example, you can use it to call yourself "leet lass", and it'd look fine for your ID screen, but NPC text would show it as "1eet 1ass". -

Another reason to avoid a period at the end of a name, or even in the middle of one, is that it looks really weird when your name is put into sentences by contacts or NPCs, as it totally messes up the punctuation.

Quote:I can see Inf being kept, but I think you might lose some of your badges - sort of like a dishonorable dischargeI could see an argument for keeping Influence/Infamy. Let's say you're a big-time hero, lots of Influence. Then you turn evil. All the villains already know of you and probably feared you in the first place. BING! Infamy. On the flip side, I could see villains still being "infamous" in their own way... if an ex-villain came into my shop I know I'd give him what he wanted.
It's not exactly the same, granted, but it might work...
In fact, I think it's possible you might lose all your faction specific badges - you'll only keep the ones that are available to both Heroes and Villains. -
