I think it'd be a good idea to perhaps not make jokes about French and Germans - if English isn't their native language, then they might not be able to tell if something is sarcastic or ironic.
A few jokes between the American and British players about each other is fine, as long as it's kept friendly, so no one is offended.
There's no need to be aggressive towards each other on a game forum where we're supposed to be here for fun and enjoyment. -
Quote:It's possible to multitask - I usually post while play, talking on the telephone, or chatting on Yahoo Messenger - or sometimes even while reading, or listening to music or watching a movie or TVYou know why BaBs has less post then you all?, because he has a job, and what I would assume, a life by which is not ruled by forum boards. Have any of you actually stopped posting for more than a month?. I'm guessing that would be impossible.

Doing several things at once helps make each day a richer experience

Quote:I suggest we ask the mods to add the word "different" in brackets beside the name "Virtue" on the server list - like Triumph should have "insult" beside its name.Everybody likes to rp, I never knew it was the rp server, most of the groups I join, people personality are pretty, are, errr different.
Also, welcome to the agme and the forum, fool3916

Are you talking about the server staus page or the actual server list when you log in?
The server staus page exists in its own parallel universe, and shouldn't be taken as any sort of representation of what's happening with the servers here on planet Earth. -
Quote:Welcome back - you might find there have been a couple of tweaks to the game since 2006Just wanted to say Hello to everyone on Freedom. I just started playing last night. I had a 14 day trial back in 2006 and decided to give the game a go. So if you see a noob Brute named BluMan say hello.

Twitter update:
Positron: Alright, Wii Sports Resort is awesome.
Niviene: Now to pick which movie I want to watch.
TheOcho/Niviene/Avatea:An announcement a lot of you have been waiting for is coming next week...stay tuned! -
Quote:If you tell us more about your conversation with Hero-1 about Praetoria, I'm sure we'd find a way to forgive you.Aw, don't fear I still read the forums. I just don't post much. That and we're busy fixing things in I16 so it'll be ready for launch as soon as possible.
I ended up getting on Twitter just before Comic-con so I could follow what was happening there and give tiny updates from the convention. -

A pretty big update here - mostly War Witch:
War Witch: It's Friday, people! You know what that means! Fallout 3 weekend! I may clean, but I wouldn't count on it.
War Witch: @Slickriptide, I'll check them out. Never heard of Cayamo. Merci for the leads!
War Witch: I'm going to see Julie and Julia this weekend! (Or Julia and Julie, I don't know.) Any movie about food and I'm THERE! Loved Rataouille.
War Witch: Oh my GOSH. Switching to a new background in Twitter is like having a root canal! What's the deal? You only get one bg...EVER?
Positron: Dinner at Santa Ramen with Posimom and Positot. Yummy!
EDIT: Some teasing from DW:
The Dark Watcher: Wow. Just had a fascinating discussion with Hero-1 about the history of Praetoria. How messed up that place is! -
Quote:No, txt spk is stuff like "b4" for "before", "r" for "are", and "u" for "you".That's not normal English. That's text speak. Just because you're using specific game acronyms doesn't make it proper English.
Proper English would read, "Level 50 team fighting Arch Villains looking for more heroes! Two mentors available for Sidekicks. Send a /tell if you want to join us!"

The sentence I gave as an example is proper English - it's like on the news, when they talk about NATO or the UN, or even US or USA - it's not txt spk, it's just using initials - it's still proper English, even if they don't say the full names. -
-
Quote:I'm not sure they meant txt spk - more the way stuff is shortened just to the starting letters - like "50 AV team lfm - 2 sks available" is normal English, but it's using game terms.Unfortunately as a result of mediums like cell phone texting, aim and the like a lot of the youth of the current age seem to think everyone understands their gibberish. Don't worry, not everyone is like that. The majority of this community speaks in full sentences with proper English. And we're very happy to help newbies in any way we can.

I like Twitter - it's harmless fun

EDIT: Twitter update:
Niviene: woot 30 mins and then I'm off... -

Walking, like animated hair, is a basic human right for all gamers - so I think we'll see both in the game at some point in the future.

I'm aready providing updates here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=184978 - although, I include even the non-game related stuff

Twitter update:
TheOcho/Niviene/Avatea: Oooh! We may have found a really good local costume maker to fix our convention costumes plus make new ones for us in the future!
Back Alley Brawler: http://www.vimby.com/video/art/us/all/detail/10388 Nate, one of our concept dudes. -
I've got it, but not had a use for it - just like the other boosters - my avatar doesn't need any of the costume stuff, but the emotes are cool - plus, I like to collect all the stuff, even if I never need it
