Quote:I think the easiest thing to do would be to make another level or two on the graphics sliders, so players with computers that could handle them would be ok, but those who couldn't could continue to use the current settings they have.Ai. What I was thinking. I don't see any reason why this stuff couldn't be merged into the existing game... well... other than one particular problem
System requirements.
This came up a lot in the thread about graphics improvements being implemented in the game. Several players voiced the opinion that they wanted to keep using the computers they were using and not have to upgrade in order to keep playing.
A lot of the improvements we'd like to see... are simply too computationally intensive for the 2003 / 2004 system requirements. Maybe a new game would be the best way to break off and not burn bridges with players on Intel GMA, GeforceFX, and Radeon 8500 cards... That supposes though that NCSoft has enough money to front a completely separate development path... and that they'd be willing to do so.
That also depends on the game not being able to scale the current engine upwards... which so far, it has been capable of doing.
One of the questions I'd like to see posed at Hero'Con is what the Going Rogue machine specs will be... as I suspect they'll set a performance envelope for what the developers can do for another few years. -
Well, GR will bring that to the Praetorian zones for sure - and once that tech is in the game, they might start adding it to other new content too - like for the next zone revamp, they could add some missions and arcs with alternative endings.

Any word on if the timer has been changed at all? Like had a minute or two added to it?

Quote:Maybe that's because there are more people over here than over there?I guess I'm just freaking tired of people asking for things in CoX because Champeons, WoW, etc. already "did it." Can't people want things in CoX for the sake of wanting something in CoX? It's gotten to the point where, regardless of the context, if a thread has CO in it I just walk away. Seriously, there must be more discussion of CO over here than there is over there.

But the travel powers at a lower level and capes at level 1 thing was around before CO - large, multi level zones like Skyway City and Steel Canyon have content that you're sent to do before you're 14 - and then there's the whole Grendel's Gulch horror too
And capes are just cool, so having them at level 1 has been asked for for ages

Quote:I don't hate anyoneSlippery Slope argument? Really? Weak point is weak.
It's the 21st century. Women are more respected and equal than at any other time in history, and it's because the true movers and shakers on the equality front DON'T get bogged down in semantics. Hate speech and discriminatory speech and policies are clear and obvious, and should be stopped. Using words in a commonly accepted way in a discussion that has nothing to do with the topic of sexual equality should be accepted for what they are.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
No, he, and others, are using language in a certain way, even if it isn't on purpose.Quote:Sam's just using the language we have.
Not at all - if it doesn't get pointed out, how will people know it needs to change?Quote:Unless you can come up with something better and get it approved by society at large, all you're doing by pointing it out is weakening your stance. -

Quote:So are you saying minorities should be ignored? Be careful how you answer thatSam, this is GG. It's her thing.
GG, dear, seriously. It gets old when you trump it out EVERY time some poor chap has to settle for using s/he.
Given the majority of game players (at least here) are male, its not really a 50%-50% chance of getting it right.
And while it might not be a major deal, these small things do add up. -
Quote:That sounds like...something elseAs long as its not OPEN quests... with quests lined up across the right side of the screen... and it stays pretty much the way it is now...
Its all good.
Oh Oh, And I do NOT want Circles on the map giving me the "general direction" of where I am going. I want a damn star on the map that says "GO HERE" so I dont waste my TIME... looking for where I am supposed to be...
AND, Show me where the damn contacts ARE! I don't want to spend 45 minutes LOOKING for the quest giver...
other than that, I am open to anything.
I've thought be fore it would be fun if you could actually join groups, with special contacts and content and costume parts just for them - like you could join Longbow, or Hero Corps, or the Midnighters or the Vanguard - and Villains could join things like the Council, or the Circle of Thorns, or the Nemesis Army. -
Quote:I'm objecting to it from a moral point of view, not a religous one.How long ago an event happened doesn't negate it, and yet on the other hand with more time I would like to hope there would grow more tolerance of a variety of things. (After a manner of speaking)
At least for myself, I find no issues in regards to the holiday event, and I tend to count myself amoung the pagan side of the religious spectrum.
Also, from your name, you seem to be a guy, so it might not be quite the same for you.
And the game would be just as much fun without the "Malleus" badge in it.Quote:Bottom line? It still is a game, and the creators of it are trying to entertain. Do the best to have fun. -
Maybe when they roll out power customization more, there could be an option to replace any power animation at all with /e slap? Then you could do things like Nova or Assassin Strike, but it'd look like you just had a very strong arm.

Quote:Well, Mender Silos seems to be an expert on dimensions, so I'm sure there'll be some sort of Ouroboros presence in PraetoriaSince there's going to be a new Praetorian Starting area you should be able to Experience all the low level content in Going Rogue as well

EDIT: Although, if the new starting content is set at "neutral", wouldn't that get messed up if you started playing it as a Hero or Villain?
