We were told about the separate GR beta server while we were testing the winter event on the nromal test server.

In the old NCSoft marketing survey where a lot of the GR ideas were first made public, there's a Spy AT mentioned - which I think would fit very well in Praetoria.
-
Mid-February would be right in the middle of the Q1 period too
-
New splash screens would be nice too, showing Heroes, Villains and Praetorians together.
-
I know devs hate Villains, but why are they getting their parent company to target Masterminds and not other Villain ATs?

Quote:GR will be tested on a separate server - the normal Training Room will be open as usual. If i recall correctly the City of Villains closed beta was on a completely different server than the Training Room. It's been a while, so i could be wrong. i'm hoping that a bit more info gets released prior to my getting a closed beta invite since i'm still waiting on more current suggested hardware so that i can start building my new system. i suppose i could go ahead with the suggestions given back around the start of the holidays, but this allows me some time to save more money.

I'd be totally ok with them stripping out the old Atlas starter misisons, for example, and replacing with newer ones - the old ones could be moved to Ouroboros.

This is just the forum version of turing your cellphone off when you're busy - I'm pretty sure he'll be accepting PMs again once GR is out

Quote:Maybe he's just tired of peopel using a small "a" in the middle of BAB?BaBs, I tried to PM you about you not taking PMs anymore and it got bounced back to me. Could you see about getting that fixed please?
(I hope we didn't "Geko" another Dev... I guess post like this don't help matters =)

Quote:They also said at Hero Con that they'll be adding more Cimerora content, which will tie in with the Coming Storm - so while that could mean more TFs based in Cimerora, I think it's more likely to mean arcs. What he said exactly was 'We could write Arcs, but with MA out there, we'd rather write TF/SF's'. I'm pretty sure that any new zones will have their own arcs associated with them, or they'd look rather thin. But I'd say it doesn't sound promising for people who'd like the devs to add new arcs to older zones like Boomtown or DA.

Quote:NY isn't always like thatI poke fun at Freedom occasionally, but a lot of the criticism is warranted. If the servers were U.S. cities, Freedom would be New York City. It's incredibly busy, there's always activity no matter what time it is, you meet new people every day, and you're in the center of the action. On the other hand, it's crowded, the people are rude, and it's hard to form close relationships because people get lost in the shuffle.

Yes - in the Going Rogue expansion, Hero and Villain characters will become immersed in the new parallel universe known as Praetoria, which is governed by Tyrant, the evil incarnation of the games main protagonist, Statesman. As gamers search for Tyrant and the rest of his Praetorian guard, implacable foes and fierce resistance will arise to face them from all sides, causing Heroes and Villains alike to question their loyalties.
City of Heroes Going Rogue will introduce a new alignment system that helps players explore the shades of gray that lie between good and evil. For the first time, Hero characters can become Villains and vice versa, enabling Hero archetypes to cross over to the Rogue Isles and Villain archetypes to experience Paragon City. Clearly marked missions, in addition to behaviors and decisions made by the player, will move a Heros or Villains moral compass, which could eventually change the Heros or Villains alignment. Going Rogue will also introduce two primary new fictional characters representative of this alignment shift in the games lore: Maelstrom, a pistol-wielding Hero gone rogue, and Desdemona, a demon-summoning Villain who has been redeemed. -

Quote:There's only one way to find out - if we all send hundreds of PMs to every red name every day, and after a few days they then say they're now going to stop receiving them, - that will be conclusive proofMaybe he's just anticipating being very very busy fixing things on some huge new update that shall remain nameless, and is expecting his inbox to be full to the point of bursting with bugs for him to fix from a sudden influx of testers...

I think he just means that he needs to cocnentrate on getting animated hair just right for the GR launch - once it's done, he'll be answering PMs again.
