By tilesets, she really does mean totally new tilesets, not reskins - it was repeated at PAX East - one new tileset for the tunnels of the Underground, and one new tileset for Praetorian labs/government facilities - both of those should be flexible enough to cover most of the mission settings, so I don't think you're going to see too many warehouses, offices or caves on your progress through the new 1-20 content.
-
Quote:Well, they are new missions - and I'm sure all the Praetorian content will mostly use the two new tilesets, as they fit each side - Resistance in the tunnels and loyalists in labs/government buildings.Oh dear. I hope there is much more than... TWO!!!! That was the key add, IMO. Most of the other stuff is a lot of what we have. Side switching would be nice but we have been to all of these environments and see these areas. It'd be nice to play them with the opposite side but we're doing the same stuff. I believe there was a comment stating there would be hundreds of new missions in GR. Ok, if they are using the same old crap maps then those are NOT new missions! Good grief. If they recycle all those old maps again, I will be physically ill....

Quote:It's what she said in the earlier interview - two new tilesets - one for the tunnels, and the other one for the labs. Are you certain of this? Sorry but I will be extremely dissapointed if we are to briefly travel over four new pretty zones to fight mostly in the same old warehouse, sewer and cave maps. In this game we spend 95% of our time within instanced missions so I would have thought it made more sense to to focus on new mission maps than new zones.

There will be two, according to an earlier interview - the tunnels of the Underground and Praetorian lab maps.

I had to remake my avatar when I first entered Outbreak and saw that 5 foot 5 and a half in the costume creator didn't really look much like 5 foot 5 and a half compared to the scale of everyone else

Quote:I'm...not sure what to say about thatYes actually it does, once your forum account has been banned or temp banned your no longer considered for Beta invites. It's something they have done for a long time to keep people on the forums in line.
I know, I've been banned and am no longer eligible for Beta Invites.

I think that little bit of info might be slightly out of sync with the GR wesbite - the Destroyers are probably the ntxgroup to be added there, and she might not have been meant to mention them just yet

Quote:I think you're reading too much into my postYa'know. I'm not a furry, but I'm pretty sure that they are allowed to exist without stereotypes and hate mongering remarks o.0
I've never understood why Furries=Evil/Sin in many peoples eyes. If it's what they want to practice, why impede them. Didn't the world unite against a group that was trying to destroy people for what they practiced and believed? :P I recall reading that somewhere :P
However, a horse is something I doubt we could do, the closest to a horse person I ever saw was the Bothans in SWG :P
Peace,

If you check my other comments, on this subject, you'll see that I'm very much a supporter of more animal parts in the game, even tough I don't need them on my avatar - I just want as many playees as possible to be able to express their creativity and imagination in the game. -
And so the fur horse-bois of the apocalyiffs ride ever closer

Quote:They've already announced the first two expansion packs too - "Batman's *****" and "Superman's Slave", both of which will help broaden and deepen the player experience of existing in the DC universe.Meanwhile DCUOnline has already a release date for those who Pre-Order....
And with •"Extreme customization" allows you to create your own custom hero or villain
and •DCUO uses a state-of-the-art physics engine that turns the world into your weapon (wich seems like the destructable universe many asks around) it looks bad for us...
It's lucky for us that there hasn't been another superhero MMO until now that offered extreme customization and an interactive environment, otherwise it would have crushed CoH. -

1 - My name is what my mom called me when I was little - and still calls me sometimes

2 - I only have one avatar - a Scrapper, which I picked because it was the only one that could use the martial arts power set, and it sounded a useful all-round sort of AT
3 - I love superheroes, and this is the only MMO that lets you be one.
The main improvements I can think of would be to enahnce the realism of our avatars, and freshen up some of the older zones.
4 - It's hard to pick the most memorable thing I've seen or done
5 - I team and solo, and have a one-woman SG - my global friend list is full, so I guess that answers the question
6 - I was given CoH as a gift - it's my first and only MMO.
7 - CoH 2

There will be a pack that the furries will be able to use eventually - an animal/monster pack is something David Nakayama said they can look at after GR goes live - plus, he also said that there's a proper dog tail coming soon too.
-
I hope you get everything sorted out in time for GR.

Quote:Sexy Jay doesn't decide what's going to be in each booster pack, or what the theme of the pack's going to be.I second a call for a redname response to this thread; I PM'ed David Nakayama last night.
If Jay, as sexy as he may be, has a personal issue that interferes with his willingness or ability to do his job, then perhaps they need to give him something else to do and find someone who will get the job done. One person's personal objections should have no business impairing the creativity of the entire playerbase. -
