Don't forget that Tyrant is also working with the Rikti, so there could be some Rikti Incarnate content too.

Quote:Just as well the Incarnate system isn't a copy of the WoW endgame system thenEnd game raids aren't good ideas. World of Warcraft has shifted focus down to things much more like our Task Forces lately, because they realised that more people enjoyed smaller teams than larger teams.

Quote:Look at all the ruined or war-torn worlds we visit via Portal Corp - imagine if they became like Praetoria, with everyone peaceful and docilce and happy, and a robot workforce to give people more time to spend on art and science and culture, intead of having to struggle just to stay alive.I'm curious how exactly taking over the entire multiverse can have a good intention behind it, is sympathetic, or is the least bit understandable.

With his immortality and the power of the Well, Tyrant can end every conflict and every kind of suffering throughout every single dimension, and bring peace and healing to the multiverse for eternity. -
Talking of magic in the game, I wonder if any future Incarnate stuff will shows us what happened to Mu and Oranbega on Praetorian Earth, and why there seems to be almost no magic anywhere in that world?
Like if Tyrant had outlawed it, you'd still expect it to show up in the ranks of the people fighting him - but the resistance and the Syndicate don't seem to have any - and if Tyrant had found a way to make all the maigĂc in his world serve him, then you'd expect to see magic users in the ranks of the loyalists. -
Positron was quite chatty at the Euro sneak peek yesterday, and War Witch showed up for a bit too.

Quote:There's nothing wrong with adding bits and pieces from other games if they're good ideasPlease please get rid of or reign in whoever thinks we want to play Blizzards 800lb gorilla. If I did, I'd subscribe to that. I don't.

Plus, spandex is more comfortable and stylish than chainmail - so you can raid in comfort, and look good while doing it

Quote:You can find a list of various easter eggs at paragonwiki, if you want to slightly spoil the huntingAw man, now I'm going to be compelled to explore nooks and crannies again. There was a mish recently that had cured me of the habit - I completed all the objectives but saw there was an offshoot tunnel deeper in. Turned out to just be a dead end with a few extra enemies.
-
Lots of them - mostly done by War Witch in her zone dressing role before she became Supreme Grand High Imperial Overlady of Paragon Studios - including putting herself into the secret Cryptic Lounge area in Faultline, along with another dev:

She's also said that there's a little easter egg that's never been found in the RWZ, that's got something to do with one of the mailboxes there. -
Try selecting the install option - I did that for my Euro version, and it didn't download the entire game - it just checked all the files.

There's some very good stuff in the AE for all levels.

Quote:But if you're a villain, you'll be doing all those evil things anyway, otherwise you wouldn't be a villain - it doesn't matter why you're doing them, or if you're doing them for yourself or someone else - just by doing them you're being naughtyIf you're the kind of villain whose only ambition is to murder, torture, enslave or destroy then no, it doesn't matter.
If you're the kind of villain that actually has depth, it might.
Like TyrantQuote:The more compelling villains tend to be the ones who actually have good intentions, or motives the audience can sympathize with, or at least understand.

Quote:But any co-op story always has to be something a hero would do - it can have evil consequences, otherwise it wouldn't be something heroes could do.I think that, again, you're making a statement that simply suits your viewpoint (which we all do, I think, it just seems that it's happened a lot recently).
Co-op content doesn't have to be anything by default - it simply ignores alignment (the contact doesn't give a crud about the character's motivations, they just want their end-goal met). Unless you have secret knowledge of game code, or can quote a dev that confirms your statement, I still don't agree (as my viewpoint is different - not a good or bad thing, just different).
Also, saving the world is only heroic if that's the motivation of the character - as you've rightly pointed out, it may simply be a case of 'I'm going to stop X so that I can take it for myself' - that's hardly heroic, but you've still 'saved the world'. -
Quote:I'm just saying that we're only at the start of the Incarnate content, so running around in panic over wild assumptions about what all Incarnate content will involve is being rather sillyWait... you're bringing up the idea of a separate Incarnate path for villains? You?
Is this the Praetorian Golden Girl talking or has your account been hacked?
In I18/GR, we learnt about Tyrant's plans to invade us.
In I19, we unlocked our first Incarnate abilities, and fought the first battles of the Praetorian war.
In I20, we learn that Tyrant is planning to conquer the entire multiverse, and that the Titan called Prometheus is opposed to Tyrant and the Well of the Furies, and he will be helping us fight against them.
The storyline is exapning and adding new lore, info and possibilities with each new Issue, with several directions the devs could take this in - and one of them is to allow an evil Incarnate path for loyalists/Villains to side with Tyrant and the Well, while Heroes side with Prometheus in a cosmic battle for the fate of the multiverse. -

Quote:Adding Prometheus to the Incarnate situation might be the start of them setting up the system to have two Incarnate paths, one for good people, and one for bad.The chances of getting to be that evil I'd put at about 10,000,000 to 1. Much more likely that both Loyalists and Villains will get strongarmed into having to team up with goody two shoes YET AGAIN to save the universe.
Getting to actually fight on Cole's side would go a long way to redeeming this story though in my eyes. -
I thnik you're totally missing the opportunities this opens up for cosmic scale evil by villain players doing high level loyalists content.
Think Praetorian Portal Corp - for our Portal Corp missions, we go to other dimensions to fight threats or invetsigate potential threats, as well as saving and helping people form other dimensions.
But imagine that as loyalist content, with players becoming Incarnate war leaders in Tyrant's invasion armies, helping him expand his empire across the multiverse.
You could an arc or TF where you literally conquered a world, or totally destroyed one.
You could lead NPC pets like War Walkers to attack cities or military facilities on other worlds - you could take personal charge of assassination operations on leading figures on various worlds who were resisting Tyrant's onslaught - you could have misisons to enslave entire populations, or totally wipe out opposing armies.
Making the multiverse threatening force a human one - which has also allowed players to serve it at lower levels - allows for the possibility of players being able to serve it at higher levels too, and deliver the kind of cosmic evil content that you can't get when working for Recluse. -
-
I don't get it either - it's just a game launcher, that's all

Quote:Oh, you poor, poor thingI have two Champions Online lifetime subscriptions, and a DC Universe Online lifetime subscription.

They launched with a little shopping cart icon as part of the social UIQuote:DCUO is a good candidate for a lifetime sub because it doesn't have much content right now and they need the revenue to continue to improve. But I fear that lifetime subs increase the likelihood that a game will have to use micro-transactions to support itself.

A slight tweak to the thread title, and this could have been a Statesman/Recluse slash thread.

Quote:I think you're totally missing the point of the timer - if there was no time limit, the raid would be pretty easy - the League would simply have to close all the doors with the acid grenades, cutting off any new reinforcements, and then could take as long as they liked to clear up the remaining mobs, and then all dogpile Marauder. What did you dislike?
While I do like that the new Trials need thinking and strategy to complete, I feel a little annoyed that if we dont succeed within the time limit, then we fail. It makes us feel rushed, and can end up resulting in time wasted. Is a time limit required considering it is such a hard task - (Lambda Sector) -
I can help you be more social and run TFs with you, but you'll also need to help yourself by accepting the help, otherwise you'll stay stuck the way you are.
