Well, you could ask Prometheus:
Quote:Or you could ask Second Measure:"Tyrant will soon be nigh unstoppable, at which point his fate, and the fate of humanity, will be sealed. Whether he is consumed by the Well, or simply remains its servant matters not, for neither would have the strength to stave off the greater threats that loom in the future."
They both give the same answer regarding what comes after Tyrant's defeat, and what level of power it will requireQuote:Eventually, once we release all of the Incarnate Slots, you’ll even be a little overpowered for the first waves of Incarnate Trials, and by then, we’ll have something much more challenging for you to do with your newfound power. (Evil chuckle redacted.)

So it'd be logical for the multiverse threatening event that we're getting all this power to fight will involve a threat level where we won't need that power?
-
Quote:From June 2004:Expand upon the existing lore instead of making stuff up.
Some of the oldest existing lore, which the devs have been expanding upon, as requestedQuote:"This power hungry version of Statesman believes firmly that Might Makes Right. He has conquered his world and like a modern day Alexander he is now turning his eye to ours."

Quote:I think the Coming Storm will be designed with at least 3 level shifts in mind - posisbly even more, depending on how many more shifts the next 5 slots give us.But even then, I doubt the content will *require* Ultra Rare slots and stuff to accomplish.
Even the conent for those next 5 slots will probably be designed with a couple of level shifts in mind, maybe even all 3 of the current shifts avilable to us. -
It is weird - which is why it's very much a minority mentality - and it's why they're fighting a losing battle - Trials are here to stay, and we'll be getting more and more and more - they're the core of the endgame system, and that isn't going to change.

And are continuing to make it

But it sure would helpQuote:My not having a nice, ordered, pretty list of alternatives does not make my view or my statement that "I don't like that" any less valid or any less worthy of being listened to.

It was an option - but I was meaning Nemesis involvement in the storyline
-
Quote:Well, it's Praetoria all the way to the Omega slot - and then we get more wacky Well antics for the Coming Storm - so you've got a lot of ignoring to look forward toSOME people, not all.
And there have been NUMEROUS OTHER things suggested ALREADY other than the Goatee Universe plotline.
Loving the Incarnate powers and "leveling" my 50s, COMPLETELY and UTTERLY ignoring the silly (IMO) storyline.
And Nemesis hasn't even been spotted yet

Here's another one, from ImagesbyAlex, that will hurt you with its cuteness:
-
The same writiers are still at Paragon Studios.
-
It's probably just the Well trying to be helpful

Quote:Think of it as a kind of Incarnate debuffas if people who don't have SOs yet have any business fighting multiple AVs at once, or spawns made up of nothing but bosses, or being swarmed by uninterruptible, fast-moving suicide bombers

Well, that's certainly a comon explanation amongst a certain little group of players - but it's not the correct oneQuote:Whenever you spot inconsistencies like that in anything from i15 onward the best explanation seems to be that they just didn't care.
-
The level progression is usually assumed to be time-based - for example, level 20 loyalists are still going to hear Marchand telling them he hopes they can stop the war- he was still saying it in I19 after the Incarnate TFs, and I assume he's still saying it now after the Sutter TF and the first 2 Trials - and he's likely to keep on saying it even after we get the final showdown with Tyrant - because it's still part of unfolding storyline for new players and avatars.
-
The did mention the idea of being able to buy Incarnate respecs on the UStream dev Q&A, but it didn't sound like it was anything they were planning on doing anytime soon.
-
It's the cover of Catwoman #51, by Adam Hughes.
-
-
The idea of ending a TF with the rock attack is funny, but it seems rather mean to ruin all your friend's effort like that.
-
By the way, going by the concept art we've seen, we're going to be trashing Mother Mayhem's "hospital" at some poiint during another Trial, so it's quite likey we'll have another cutscene with her in it

Quote:I think you, and a few other, are still not quite gettign what the Incarnate sytem is, or how it's tied into the game - there is no end to the Incarnate system.I'm just hoping they get all ten Incarnate slots out really fast, then start developing other, non-Incarnate content.
These 10 slots aren't the only slots they can add, and no slot is limited to just 4 tress - more slots and more trees can be added, as the devs have alreayd mentioned.
There is also no end to the Trials - the current plan is to add one or more Trails with every new Issue - the Trials won't stop once all 10 slots are available, and they won't stop once Tyrant and the loyalists are defeated either.
The devs have alreayd said that once we have these 10 slots, we'll find the first Trials pretty easy, but that there's even mroe challenging content planned for higher level incarnates.
Every day, more and more players and avatars are becoming Incarnates, so the need for more and more Incarnate content is also growing, which is exactly what the devs have planned for.
The development and release on Incarnate content will only end when all other development on the game ends too. -

But game lore is important to story mechanics - ignoring character relationships is a big no-no - the characters as they eixist in the game or any other official material is the only accurate version of those charcters.
