Quote:If only there was some way of being able to view the clues we'd picked up on an arc to let us work out what to do if we ever ran into some kind of puzzle. Are the devs serious.
Ive seen some really bad design decisions but this one takes the cake, coffee, donuts and everything else for bad design
1 botched ritual cripples, 2 makes a character unplayable.
Something that makes you unable the play the game for 20 hours BRILLIANT.
Whats next, fail a mission get kicked offline for 20 hours. -
Maybe she trusts the player, because they're so powerful and important?

I think that we're more likely to get some kind of space station rather than the moon

By the way, now that we've done the classic comicbook move of killing a major character, we now need the classic comicbook move of having a character come out

Quote:Talking of the MMO market, I think that in the future, MMOs will move away from the current heavy focus on combat for progression - looking at things like FarmVille and Minecraft, there seems to be a potentially huge audience for games with non-combat progression - so the company that can find a way to blend that with the standard combat progression will have a massive hit.So does basically the entire MMO playerbase, outside of an extremely vocal minority that consistently ignores the basic concept of multiplayer gaming. The market for MMORPG's (and every other multiplayer game out there) is players that like playing with other people. It's not that hard to grasp really, folks.. Spin it however you like. Rationalize every which way possible. It doesn't change the basic core concept of the multiplayer gaming genre.
For example, in CoH terms, that would mean a 1-50 levelling path as a D.A.T.A. scientist, or a Wentworths broker, or a reporter for the Paragon Times, or an Icon designer, or the owner of a store.
Obviously, there'd still be a lot of combat content for people who wanted it, as it's a superhero game - but it wouldn't be the only way of progressing or playing. -

They need a bit more work on the normal mapped faces to get them just right - I don't think that they should give up on them after only a handful of faces.

New Manticore and Sister Psyche art - does that mean that they're both ok after "Who WIll Die?"

Quote:Yes.In order to get the Valentine's Tip drops, you have to 'do an attunement mission' for Ganymede/Scratch. Does that mean that those of us who have all ready done said Valentine's Day missions in previous years are attuned, or do we have to the whole thing over again?

Quote:To aovid spoilers, you could remove all chat channels from your chat window - or even close the whole window, just in case red admin text came up.I avoid the Beta server as I like surprises when it goes live.
Put yourself on global hide, then pick a quiet zone to avoid meeting others - like for the next beta, avoid Independence Port, becuase that'll probbaly have a bit of activity with people checking out the revamped STF - somewhere like the Hollows would be good.
Doing all this would mean you'd be able to log in by the trainer, check out new costume parts and emotes, and never have to see any of the new non-cosmetic content, or hear about it from other players on the beta server. -

Quote:The Trials are special content - just like the endgame progression system is different from the 1-50 game.Except that it isn't. The standard paradigm of play in CoX is the standard mission content, and I don't know anyone who has been through ten levels of content, much less 50, who expects to likely fail every new mission the first time through. Even the classic TFs and trials (like the respec trials) are more like normal content than the iTrials in this regard.
Quote:The iTrials aren't challenging because they pose difficult problems for us to solve using the tools given to us through the experience of 50 levels of game content.
All new players since COH:Freedom went live are now totally comfortable with the way Trials form and work, which makes the transition to the post-50 game much smoother. -
Wouldn't using extra accounts for attempting to semi-solo a Trial be kinda expensive?

Quote:Normal mapping works fine on faces - but they need some kind of expression on them to bring them to life - the ones we have so far are all too blank.Hopefully that makes the point. Please, guys, STOP using the uncanny valley inducing Normal maps on faces. NMs work great on clothes. But all you've successfully proved is how BADLY they work on faces. Please, enough?
I'm sure that's meant to make them as flexible as possible for different avatars, but almost all the non-normal mapped faces have some form of expression, like a small smile, or a frown, or a slightly puzzled look, and so on - those are what they need to add to the normal mapped faces.
